The Kaspar Hauser Development Center is a non profit organization.Since 1994 is working in a very poor area of Santiago giving global assistance to people living in poverty and facing high social risk.

  • Objectives

Our aim is to share the educational and cultural resources of the Waldorf Educa-tional Philosophy in a preschool and in different workshops for children, teenagers and adults, preparing them in a creative skill that can be used as means for earing an income.

1.- Help parents and families with the education of their children according to the Waldorf teaching system.

2.- Train the adults who may require it, in a craft with which they can have the possibility to earn an income.

    3.- Promote artistic abilities.

4.- Help the whole family to have access to human values, and assist them in acquiring culture and knowledge.

  • History

In 1994, a group of parents from a Wal-dorf school got together to work volun-tarily in a very poor area of Peñalolén with high social risks developing diffe-rent activities. Their aim was to share all the cultural resources to which these people had no access.

Once the contact had begun, a series of different needs raised the necessity to design a plan of action in order to help them. The municipality provided a meeting pla-ce where a preschool was formed with two groups of children, art

workshops were given and mothers were taught hand embroidery.Since it began, all the work was finan-ced by private donations and in 2001 and 2002 we were distinguished as a Natio-nal Referent by the Ministry of Education Program for Infancy Improvement
