• During the past four years more than 3

million people have crossed the European

boarders as refugees.

• In 2017 the European countries denied

access to 500.000 people.

• More than 10.000 individuals, have lost

their lives while trying to come in Europe

by sea, making the Mediterranean a lethal

crossing.

Is it possible for the western societies to cope?

• integrate these population groups?

• to manage internal reactions?

The feasible solutions were lost between

"You are all welcome refugees" and

“Refugees go home".

The trauma

• Children refugees have

been through the worst

type of violence in their

countries and the

unwilling process of their

home abandonment has

traumatic consequences

on their psycho-

emotional health and

development.

• Even their basic human rights, such as:

food, home, safety, care and play, are

being trampled both before and during

their travel and relocation.

• Uncertainty is one of the main feelings

which makes it even more difficult for the

children refugees to dream and invest in

their selves in the future.

MB • Being part of small teams, where their

weaknesses are not shown to the whole

class, gives them the comfort to showcase

their talents.

• The multidisciplinary nature of the projects

helps them to show those talents.

• They have the opportunity to interact with

a small team of students and to feel

concentrated to a specific goal

• The educators can get to know better these

children and spot their abilities

Pupils start to trust the teachers

• Everyone is involved in a process without busy

schedules and strict valuations

• Students are able to correct their mistakes,

accept different opinions, learn not to be afraid

of the directories and not to react towards

anything different

• Setting clear goals, for the completion of which it

is mandatory for the children to participate and

to be valued upon.

• Little by little this process follows in the class

and at school in general.

• From within the project and the multicultural

nature of the modern school that is established,

crossculturalism is then furthered

-Tolerance and respect towards diversity

and the cultural traits of the participants was

startling

-Increasing interest in learning foreign

languages (including the language of the

host country in cases of students with a

different country of origin)

•A program that evolves with in the teaching

practice and uses any mean that is available.

• A program that does not require expensive

equipment or special classroom to operate in,

a program that every educator can apply in

their class.

•In the meantime, it can be shown that

eTwinning offers an exceptional edification to

every student, despite the country they are

from or the school they are attending.
