Abraham had faith and obeyedGod. He was told to go to the landthat God had said would be his, andhe left for a country he had never

seen.Because Abraham had faith, he

lived as a stranger in the promisedland. He lived there in a tent, and sodid Isaac and Jacob, who were latergiven the same promise.

sacrifice Isaac, because he was surethat God could raise people to life.This was just like getting Isaac backfrom death.

medio de Isaac tendra muchosdescendientes. Abraham saba que Diostiene poder para hacer que los muertos

vuelvan a vivir. Esa confianzahizo que Abraham no tuvieraque matar a su hijo; y fue como

si Isaac hubiera vuelto a vivir.

Isaac had faith, and hepromised blessings to Jacob andEsau.

Later, when Jacob was about todie, he leaned on his walkingstick and worshiped. Thenbecause of his faith he blessedeach of Josephs sons.

Jacob confi en Dios y, poreso, cuando ya estaba por morir,les prometi a los hijos de Josque Dios los iba a bendecir.Luego, se apoy en la punta desu bastn y ador a Dios.

faith that God would lead thepeople of Israel out of Egypt. Sohe told them to take his boneswith them.

time that living a wrong life could bringfor a little while.Moses knew that the treasures of

Egypt were not as wonderful as what hewould receive from God, and he lookedforward to his reward.

Consider de ms valor sufrirdeshonra que gozar de la riqueza deEgipto, pues saba que Dios le dara su

premio.

Because of his faith, Moses leftEgypt. Moses had seen the invisibleGod and wasnt afraid of the kingsanger.

Because of their faith, the peoplewalked through the Red Sea on dryland. But when the Egyptians tried todo it, they were drowned.

Moiss confi en Dios y, por eso no letuvo miedo al rey ni se rindi nunca. Saliode Egipto, y actu como si estuvieraviendo a Dios, que es invisible.

Por fe, los israelitas pasaron el Mar Rojocomo si fuera tierra seca; luego, cuando losegipcios quisieron hacer lo mismo, seahogaron.

Gods people had faith, andwhen they had walked aroundthe city of Jericho for seven

days, its walls fell down.

What else can I say? There isntenough time to tell about Gideon,Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David,Samuel, and the prophets. Their faithhelped them conquer kingdoms, and

because they did right, God madepromises to them. They closed thejaws of lions and put out raging firesand escaped from the swords of theirenemies. Although they were weak,they were given the strength andpower to chase foreign armies away.

All of them pleased God because oftheir faith!
