Mass Schedules and Guidelines
Because of the need to sanitize the Cathedral between Masses, we have had to alter our regular Mass schedule. As a reminder, Bishop Barres has dispensed the obligation to attend Mass until further notice. Anyone unable to attend in person is encouraged to watch the Mass on Catholic Faith Network.
Weekend Mass Schedule
Weekday Mass Schedule Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM, 7:45 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:10 PM; Monday: 7:30 PM Saturday: 6:30 AM, 7:45 AM, 9:00 AM
Things to Note Before Coming to the Cathedral:
Arrival & Entry: Please enter the Cathedral through the doors on Quealy Place (except for those who need to use the handicap door).
Please sanitize your hands upon entry. We encourage you to bring your own bottle of hand sanitizer.
Social Distancing: Please maintain a distance of 6 feet from others in the Cathedral and while entering and exiting. Please do not congregate near the doors after exiting.
Seating: On weekends, please follow the directions of our special team of ushers who will assist you in finding a seat. On weekdays, please sit in open pews in marked spots while maintaining social distance. Capacity: We are allowed 50% occupancy (450 people) with every other pew open and six feet between people or households. Once we reach our occupancy limit, we will not be able to admit others. Your charity, cooperation and understanding are appreciated. Changes for Safety Reasons: There will be no entrance, offertory or recessional procession. Hymnals have been removed from the pews. The Sign of Peace as well as the ministering of the Precious Blood are suspended. Holy Water fonts remain empty; however, the Holy Water dispenser is available for those wishing to bring Holy Water home with them. Due to sanitary concerns, the bathrooms in the Cathedral are closed. Please plan accordingly.
Face Coverings: Please be reminded that all social distancing protocols remain in effect, particularly face coverings at all times while in the Cathedral. With the exception of children under the age of 2 or people with breathing difficulties, a face mask or other facial covering must be worn by all in church (make sure both your nose and mouth are covered). Please provide your own mask. It is essential that we comply with these rules while in public spaces. Let us continue to be as vigilant as possible for the safety of others as we gather together to give Glory and Praise to God.
Holy Communion will be distributed at the conclusion of Mass. The priest will exit the sanctuary to remove his chasuble and will return to distribute communion. If you are not receiving communion we ask that you leave at this time. Those receiving will approach row by row (maintaining social distancing with the person in front of you). Please lower your mask when you approach to receive and put it
back on after you have consumed the host. It is preferred that Communion at this time be received in one’s hand. Please place your hand out very straight and flat to allow the priest or minister to place the Eucharist safely in your hand in order to avoid contact with your hand. Those who still wish to receive on the tongue are asked to open their mouth and extend their tongue so the host can be placed on it without the priest or minister’s hand making contact with the recipient. Whether receiving or not, please leave quietly and reverently through the door to which you are directed by an usher.
Thank you for your consideration and cooperation regarding these guidelines.

Adoration of
the Blessed
Sacrament
Jesus is waiting for you!
Eucharistic Adoration is the traditional Catholic practice of taking the consecrated host, the Blessed Sacrament, and placing it in a sun-shaped vessel called a Monstrance in order for the
faithful to look upon Our Lord and pray to Him in peaceful contemplation. You are invited to join us every Wednesday in the Cathedral from 2:30—5:00 p.m. for Adoration and some quiet reflection and prayer. We will offer this in place of our normal Friday Adoration in the Holy Cross Chapel, which is suspended for the time being. Please remember to sit in marked pews and maintain social distancing. All visitors must wear a mask inside the Cathedral (except for children under the age of 2 or people with breathing difficulties).
Cathedral and Chapel Hours
Please note the following revised hours: CATHEDRAL – Weekdays: Opens 6:00 AM, closes at 6:30 PM *Adoration will be held every Wednesday in the Cathedral from 2:30 – 5:00 PM with Benediction at 5:00 PM (in place of Friday Adoration) Weekends: Opens 6:30 AM, closes after the final Mass of the day. ADORATION CHAPEL (Clinton Ave. entrance) – Closed until further notice HOLY CROSS CHAPEL (Ministry Building) – Open Weekdays 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM - **No more than 9 people inside at one time, must
social distance. **NO First Friday Adoration or Nocturnal Adoration in the Holy Cross Chapel until further notice.
