What’s in This Release American Dynamics is proud to announce the release of the Hybrid Digital Video Recorder (HDVR) v1.7.

Product Description The HDVR is a next generation high-performance, H.264, 30 images per second per channel security solution. The HDVR system supports 480 ips for 16 analog channel systems and 960 ips for 32 analog channel systems, H.264 hardware compression with video motion detection, event based recording, and relay output controls. Networking capabilities allow local and remote administration, playback, and export using a common PC client application. The HDVR supports a mix of analog and IP cameras with the same intuitive interface. Flexible high-speed search include time and date, event, and smart pixel searching. The HDVR offers users a highly intuitive and ergonomically designed interface that provides simple and efficient access to all setup and operation functions.

Faster / Easier Search Functionality Improvements that have been made to the HDVR Search Page include:

• Improved Timeline – Cleaner, more intuitive timeline bar and display. Right-Click on Timeline bar to mark start and stop times for export.

• Easy Export – Use mouse scroll wheel to zoom in on the search bar graphic timeline to choose the desired search times.

• Faster Multi-Camera Searching – Improvements have been made to enable faster multi-camera search queries.

• Serial Data Search Improvements – Serial data is now saved with video

data enabling the easier export of video and associated data. Unnecessary characters have been removed for improved legibility.

• The HDVR Replay feature can now playback video either by individual camera or current layout (2x2, 3x3, etc) view:

• A new Quick Export button has been added on the Search page to enable quicker more efficient use of multi-core processor technology. Users can continue using the HDVR client while the export takes place.

Support for Illustra 200 Series and 610LT cameras HDVR v1.7 supports the new line of Illustra 200 and 610LT cameras from American Dynamics. These cameras are supported with the Illustra plugin available in the HDVR with camera firmware version 16_05.

New Thumbnail Search Thumbnail Search has been added to HDVR v1.7. Thumbnail Search divides the search timeline into thumbnails based upon the video display chosen. Users can double click on the thumbnail to play the retrieved video or have the ability to right click and zoom in further for additional thumbnail snapshots. Users can also play forward and reverse from the individual thumbnails.

Optimized Video Caching in Timeline Search New timeline search enhancements utilizing video caching on the HDVR Search page improve the search functionality of the HDVR. Video already downloaded stays in the cache, making it easier and quicker to search for video anywhere within the requested download. This feature is especially applicable in remote applications where network bandwidth is minimal.

16:9 Viewing Panes 16:9 Aspect Ratio cameras can now be viewed in 16:9 camera panes in live search and playback mode on the HDVR. A single viewing layout can contain any mixture of 4:3 or 16:9 cameras. The live view pane size defaults to the most prevalent number of either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio cameras. This feature will only be available on HDVR clients that are being viewed on a widescreen (16:9) monitor.

New Video Wall Features New Video Wall functionality has been added in HDVR v1.7 to enable switching of views on the Video Wall based on event-monitoring based triggers such as motion, alarms, and serial data.

New Triggers on Maps User defined events (soft-triggers) created in the HDVR can now be implemented into the MAPS feature of the HDVR. This feature enables the use of access control operation, video analytical alarms, and other events to be placed and viewed on the MAPS in the HDVR. Input and Output triggers and events can also be added to maps.

Panoramic Video Views Megapixel IP panoramic cameras can now be optionally viewed in a borderless wide-panel view.

Enhanced Export Capabilities HDVR now allows the export of video greater then 4GB in size and from greater than 16 cameras when configured from the HDVR-Recall page. Users can view the status of the export via a new “Write Progress” bar.

Audio Alerts in Event Monitoring “Play Sound” has been added as a new Action Type within Event Monitoring enabling sounds to be played on selected alarms or events.

Time as Trigger Event Linking Feature A time trigger has been added as a trigger event on the Event Linking page of the HDVR. This enables user to perform the following functions (as examples):

• Record Video / Audio from a camera at certain times • Activate lights, Lock/Unlock doors at specified times via the external

outputs • Send email notifications notifying personnel of important tasks • Archive video to DVD or external storage using HDVR Recall • Move PTZ cameras to certain positions at specified times

HDVR Player and HDVR Replay Improvements The On Screen Display (OSD) of the camera as defined in the HDVR client is now displayed in the HDVR Player when the HDVR Replay feature is selected from the right-click option of the live view screen. A timeline bar has also been added to enable easier control of the recorded video.

Czech GUI Translations The HDVR GUI now supports Czech translations.

IP Camera Enhancements The following enhancements and updates have been made to IP cameras in the HDVR v1.7 release.

Support has been added for the following ACTi cameras: KCM-3911 H.264 4-Megapixel D/N IP Hemispheric camera, TCM-1111 bullet camera, TCM-3111 fixed dome camera, TCM-4511 cube camera, TCM-5111 box camera.

Support has been added for the new AV20185DN and AV20365DN 20-Megapixel panoramic cameras. When calculating throughput and storage requirements users should use the equivalent of (4) 5 MP cameras

The AXIS P72 and AXIS M70 line of network encoders are now supported. The Q1602 and Q1604 cameras are also supported.

A 16:9 aspect ratio is now supported in the Basler BIP2-1920 series of cameras.

Support has been added for the B and C levels of HikVision IP cameras.

The HDVR ONVIF plug-in supports the Quasar Series network cameras.

Support has been added for the SW172, SW175, SW314, and SW316 network cameras from Panasonic.

Truen network cameras are supported on the HDVR via the ONVIF plugin.

The UDP IPE cameras are now supported in the HDVR with the new UDP plug-in.

The following Vivotek IP Edge Devices are now supported: FE-8171V Fisheye Fixed Dome Network Camera, VS8102 encoder, and FD8381, IP7361, IP8332, MD7560, IP7151, IP7139FD8362, PZ8111 network cameras.

Known Limitations and Issues 1. Due to display driver incompatibilities, users may encounter issues when

attempting to view megapixel cameras on the HDVR client if a VGA acceleration mode is enabled on the client. In these cases, it is recommended to select the “None” option for VGA Acceleration Mode in the HDVR Client Setup Screen:

2. As previously outlined in the HDVR v1.6 Release Note, the following system throughputs are qualified on the HDVR models:

• 16 channel non-RAID – 60 Mb/s • 16 channel RAID – 100 Mb/s • 32 channel non-RAID – 80 Mb/s • 32 channel RAID – 150Mb/s
