His son Shadd was operating the swather, his son Shale was operating one combine and his son Wayne was operating the other. His fourth son Shane was operating one of the trucks. His father Walter Tratch, who is 87 years old, came along for ride in the truck. The youngest harvester was Aidyn (Shadd’s son) who at a year-and-a-half, also took an occasional ride out to the eld. Also helping the Tratch family truck their bumper crop was Jim Vewchar of Canora. Lyndon said he tried combining a small piece of land a couple of days earlier, but on September 7, the push was on because poor weather had been forecasted for the next few days.
