FADE IN:

1. EXT. SKY DUSK

The sky is PURPLE. Clouds are floating above a scenic village like

great, hovering spaceships. The sun is set, mixing its light with the

stars and the faint moon.

UNKNOWN (V.O.)

I announce the new Minister for Magic! Rufus

Scrimgeour!

The voice is FAINT, but, however, clearly AUDIBLE.

And behind the many, grey clouds, something SHINY appears...

lost in the swallowing darkness. It is the --

- LOGO

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS

SLOWLY we FLY through it... and once we've done that... we can

see...

- PART I

while a second VOICE occurs.

INTERVIEWER #1 (V.O.)

Is it true that the Dementors of Azkaban have joined

You-Know-Who, Minister?

CUT TO:

3. INT. OFFICE OF THE MINISTER FOR MAGIC NIGHT

We can see a POSTER hanging on a wall, with two MOVING pictures

on it. One of CORNELIUS FUDGE, and one of a bearded man with

long hair and glasses: RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR. At the bottom of the

poster is written, in big, red letters: RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR

REPLACES CORNELIUS FUDGE AS MINISTER FOR MAGIC.

NEW ANGLE --

An ESTABLISHING SHOT of the whole office. Dozens of interviewers

are standing around a desk, crammed in the office. FLASHES of

light, coming from the camera's of the photographers. All

camera's pointed at a man with red brown, long hair, sitting in

the SHADOW, his hands buried in his face. CANDLELIGHT shows deep

wrinkles on the parts of face we can see.

INTERVIEWER #1 (O.S.)

Minister? Have they joined You-Know-Who?

Finally RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR looks up... his eyes shining behind his

glasses.

RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR

It explains the mist, doesn't it?

His voice is deep and hoarse.

CUT TO:

4. EXT. MALFOY MANOR DUSK

Under the beautiful purple sky, two FIGURES are walking down a

street in the scenic village. The figures are hooded and

cloaked, their identities hidden. A thick MIST is hanging in the

village, crawling around the figures... nearly making shadows of

them.

INTERVIEWER #2 (V.O.)And what about the prisoners of Azkaban?

NEW ANGLE -

The two figures are now standing in front of an iron GATE. It

leads to a lane, with on its sides high, perfectly manicured

HEDGES. The gate OPENS automatically, RATTLING loudly. The

figures start to walk down the gravelled path, which leads to an

immense manor house, which nearly can't be seen because of the

mist.

CUT TO:

5. INT. OFFICE OF THE MINISTER FOR MAGIC - NIGHT

Scrimgeour looks tired. He's pale, his hairs are greasy and his

face is sunken.

An arm, dressed in a fluffy, pink SLEEVE, puts a GOBLET of water

on the desk of the Minister.

The owner of the arm is dressed completely in pink. Her face isugly, and she has greasy curls. Smiling, DOLORES UMBRIDGE writes

something on her CLIPBOARD.

RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR

They've escaped. All of them.

Scrimgeours voice sounds weak.

CUT TO:

6. EXT. MALFOY MANOR NIGHT

The two figures are entering the villa. On the wall, next to the

door, there's a SIGN. It says: MALFOY MANOR.

The big, wooden door SNAPS shut. Drops are starting to fall from

the darkening skies.

CUT TO:


INTERVIEWER #3

So, can we describe this as a war, then?

The Minister laughs cheerless. Another few flashes of light from

the cameras. The CANDLES on the desk of the Minister are

flickering. A feather lies next to a NOTE-BOOK of parchment. And

on the note-book, lies a GOLDEN SNITCH.

CUT TO:

8. INT. MALFOY MANOR DUSK

The two figures are now walking down a dark hallway. One of them

shows her face... it's BELLATRIX LESTRANGE. She grins broadly.

RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR (V.O.)

A war? It was already a war when we thought Harry

Potter lied about You-Know-Who's return. We justdidn't know it.

NEW ANGLE -

Bellatrix and the other figure are now standing in a large room.

The floor reflects. Raindrops can be HEARD, ticking on the

church-like windows. The only source of light is the FIRE in the

mantelpiece, showing another dark FIGURE in its orange,

flickering light. This third figure is carrying an enormous

SNAKE around his neck.

RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR (V.O.) (CONT'D)He was already recruiting when we were sitting lazily

behind our desks! Not knowing that outside this warm,

safe building already blood was spilled.

An awful SCREAM can be heard in one of the rooms next to the

room in which the three figures are standing.

For a split-second Bellatrix looks at the door from where the

terrifying scream comes. Then, she looks back at the back of the

third figure.

BELLATRIX

The giants have joined us, my Lord. We succeeded.

YOU-KNOW-WHO

Very good, Bella. And what do you have...

Finally, the second figure shows his face. It is SEVERUS SNAPE.

He looks blank at his master.

YOU-KNOW-WHO (CONT'D)

... Severus?

Another scream...

You-Know-Who turns. Beneath his hood, we can see his white face,

his shiny blue eyes and his snake-like nose. His long, thin

fingers are caressing the snake.

SNAPE

Potter is not going to be moved on the thirtieth.

The Order replaces him this saturday.

Next moment, the door from where the screams were coming swings

open and two men emerge in the large living-room.

The first has long, blonde hair... his eyes are red of

exhaustion and grief. LUCIUS MALFOY carries a blood stained

knife in his hand.

The second man is limping, has deep CUTS in his face, has a

BLACK EYE and a BLEEDING nose. DRACO MALFOY looks extremely

pale, nearly as pale as You-Know-Who... but seems to feelgrief... tears are walking down his hollow cheeks.

Bellatrix and Snape are watching the two men. Bellatrix' eyes

are big with surprise... and even Snape's mouth is hanging a bit

open.

You-Know-Who watches them with a grin, his yellow teeth bloated.

YOU-KNOW-WHO

Draco didn't succeed killing him. Now he pays for it.

Dying without leaving life.

The snake licks You-Know-Who on the cheek.

9. EXT. MALFOY MANOR - NIGHT

Raindrops are clattering on the old stones of the big villa. The

world is grey, misty and wet.

INTERVIEWER #1 (V.O.)

Minister, do you think Dumbledore's death affected the

recent happenings?

A deep RUMBLING THUNDER can be heard softly in the distance.

CUT TO:


The Minister smiles weakly, watching at the golden snitch for a

moment. Then he looks back at the interviewers.

CUT TO:

11. INT. NUMBER FOUR, PRIVATE DRIVE HARRY'S ROOM DAY

SNAPE (V.O.)

Avada Kedavra!

Snape's voice is very WEAK, very FAINT, like it's coming from a

large distance.

A GREEN FLASH flickers for a moment in some spectacle glasses.

The eyes behind it burst open.

HARRY POTTER lays in his bed, gasping. The DAILY PROPHET is

laying on his belly (we can see the headline: RITA SKEETER

WRITES BIOGRAPHY BOOK ABOUT DUMBLEDORE), his TRUNK is half-

packed, a MOVING photograph of his parents is laying next to the

trunk and HEDWIG is screeching in her cage.

NEW ANGLE -

Harry stands in front of his window. He looks outside.

POV (HARRY) - dark clouds are hanging in the air, swirling...

we nearly can't see the house opposite number four, because of

the thick mist.

Harry's eyes are looking with fear.

NEW ANGLE -

Next moment he seizes in his trunk. Sometimes he graspssomething out (First a BOOK, then the INVISIBILTY CLOACK, then

another BOOK, a ROBE, the picture of his parents) and puts it in

an old rucksack. Finally he holds a LOCKET in one of his hands,

in the other, he has a NOTE of parchment.

THE CAMERA FLASHES quickly over the note quickly and we can see

(quick, but clear) the letters: R.A.B...

... while Harry puts the note in the locket, before throwing it

in his rucksack.

Then, Harry gives a glance of surprise. Slowly he takes a MIRROR

out of his trunk. Not knowing what to do, he observes it. He

turns it in his fingers... but it's just a mirror. Just an old,

green, mirror.

His own reflection watches him, looking astonished. Suddenly...

the BRIGHTEST FLASH of blue erupts in the mirror, shining it's

blue light on Harry.

Harry shocks, gasping for breath and he throws the mirror away.

We can hear the CLATTERING of glass.

VERNON (O.S.)

Potter!!!

Harry glances towards his door, from where the MUFFLED voice of

his uncle came.

But then he looks back at the broken mirror, laying in a corner

of his room.

Slowly, Harry walks to the mirror... He turns a piece of broken

fragment... and a clear, BLUE EYE watches him from the mirror.

Its pupil gazing to Harry.

Harry watches in shock at the fragment.

Then... the eye is DISAPPEARED.

VERNON (O.S.)

Come down here, Potter!

12. INT. PRIVET DRIVE, NUMBER FOUR HALLWAY - DAY

Harry walks down the stairs, with his rucksack in his hand. We

can see how Harry puts the fragment of mirror in it, while, in

is other hand, he carries the cage of Hedwig.

Finally he stands in front of VERNON DURSLEY in the hallway. His

moustache moves wildly as he talks, his head completely red of

anger.

VERNON(as soft as possible)

What the hell are these people doing here!?

Harry glances towards the door that leads to the living-room. A

lot of TALKING can be heard from it.

HARRY

Ehm... I think that must be... nearly the er whole

Order of the Phoenix.

13. INT. PRIVET DRIVE, NUMBER FOUR LIVING ROOM - DAY

PETUNIA and DUDLEY are crammed in a corner. Looking scared to

death at eleven wizards in their living-room.

RON and HERMIONE are sitting together in a chair (Ron on the

arm-rest), another red-haired figure is leaning against the

chair, a small, dirty-looking, ginger man is sleeping in the

bench, MAD-EYE MOODY is leaning on his WALKING STICK in the

corner, ARTHUR WEASLEY stands beside him, FRED and GEORGE are

sitting next to the ginger man in the bench, laughing at the

scared Petunia and Dudley and TONKS and LUPIN are kissing each

other in front of Arthur and Mad-Eye (Mad-Eye doesn't seam to

react on this). The eleven wizards are laughing and talking at

each other (except for Lupin and Tonks and Mad-Eye).

They all stop talking when Harry enters the room in the wake of

Vernon, whose pig-like eyes are watching the wizards carefully,

as if their cosiness could suddenly change into aggression.

But the eyes of the members of the Order of the Phoenix arewatching Harry. Lupin and Tonks have stopped kissing, Mad-Eye's

fake eye is swirling around the room.

ARTHUR

Ah, Harry!

But Hermione rushes out of her armchair and hugs Harry. Ron also

stands up from his chair and shakes hands.

HERMIONE

Oh, Harry! I'm so glad to see you.

RON

Hey, mate!

HARRY

It's great to see you guys!

Lupin also comes to Harry, holding hands with Tonks. He uses his

other hand to shake Harry's.

HARRY

Remus.

LUPIN

Harry. Wonderful to see you!

HARRY

How's the moon?

LUPIN

Ten days, then er -

HARRY- your hair starts to grow.

Lupin smiles.

LUPIN

Let's keep it with that.

HARRY

Hi Tonks.

TONKS

Hey Harry!

And she winks to him.

HARRY

I didn't know you two had a relation?

Lupin glances at Tonks.

LUPIN

We er I wanted to keep it secret. I'm sorry,Harry. But but what would people think of it? What

do you think of it? A werewolf and a... human?

HARRY

Think, Remus. What would James think? He wouldn't

care, would he? Nor do I.

Lupin smiles at him an pats him on the shoulder as he walks back

to Moody and Arthur, leaving Harry with Ron, Hermione and the

red-haired figure, who stands in front of Harry.

BILL

Finally we meet, Harry Potter. Ron's told me a lot

about you.

The hand of BILL WEASLEY shakes Harry's.

RON

This is my oldest brother, Harry. Bill.

HARRY

Nice to meet you, Bill.

Bill smiles.

RON

He came home to help the Order of the Phoenix and...

he's going to get married. You would never guess who

it is he'll be marrying with.

HARRY

(smiling)

Who is it?

RON

Remember Fleur Delacour, from the Tri Wizard

Tournement in our fourth year? That's the one.

Harry looks with enormous surprise. Hermione laughs at his

expression.

BILL

We met when we -

MAD-EYE

Al right, al right, al right! It's time!

Everyone shocks as he shouts. He limps towards the middle of the

room, his walking stick making a loud BANG every time it hits

the floor.

Petunia and Dudley are now really smashed in the corner and

Vernon looks astonished at this rough fellow, taking a few

phases back into the kitchen.

MAD-EYE (CONT'D)

Cut off the love stories! We have to accomplish

this plan before we are even sure if Mr. Weasley is

going to get married!

TONKS

(shocked)

Mad-Eye!

Mad-Eye ignores her.

MAD-EYE

Hagrid's coming.

And he points at the window.

Indeed... a loud scream of Petunia and the deep RUMBLING

sound of a motorcycle.

Harry runs towards the window of the living-room, followed by

Ron and Hermione. They all glare out of the window.

POV (HARRY) - Between the clouds a flying MOTORCYCLE withsidecar is landing on the lawn... its headlights shining ghostly

in the mist. It makes CRASHING, METALLIC sounds as it lands.

Outside, the sun is starting to set. Orange light shining in

HAGRID'S black beard. Once he's stepped from the motor, he

waves at them.

HARRY / RON / HERMIONE

Hagrid!

Petunia just cries... Dudley grasps with his hands to his fatbottom.

14. INT. KITCHEN - DUSK

The twelve persons are now crammed in the kitchen.

BILL WEASLEY, MUNDUNGUS FLETCHER, RON WEASLEY, HERMIONE GRANGER,

ARTHUR WEASLEY, REMUS LUPIN, MAD-EYE MOODY, FRED & GEORGE

WEASLEY, NYMPHADORA TONKS and RUBEUS HAGRID
