Abbey Road on a Friday night. Almost there with the score for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Alexandre conducts the London

Symphony Orchestra, is one with them, as they are with him. His energy and passion for the work is a joy to watch, and the music is beautiful.

In fact, as we recorded one track the other day, Ron Returns, it so enchanted me, and everyone in the control room, I had to offer him the

job of writing the music for part two on the spot after hearing it.

Alexandre has brought so many colors and depth to the score for Hallows – Part 1. And he has taken on the challenge of redefi ning the musical

landscape of the world of Potter as we bring the series of fi lms to their climax, with grace, humor, compassion, and empathy for the characters as they go through their diffi cult transition from children into adults.

Writing the music of a Harry Potter fi lm is quite an experience and an opportunity for a fi lm composer. I am grateful to David Yates, who kindly let me enter and share his visions. His directing, when working

closely on the score was meticulous, inspired and demanding, andyet, his personality remained gentle and very strongly positive.
