Harmony Day 2013 was a great success with
many diverse cultures sharing their food,
backgrounds and traditions with other families in
Norfolk Island. Pastor Mike Browning opened the
inaugural gathering with a prayer for Unity.
During the evening The Acting Secretariat of NWF, Ms Liat Baddock JP mentioned the
formation of a Community Harmony Working Group which will focus on the “Racism it
Stops with Me” campaign. This initiative is part of the agreement between the
Australian Human Rights Commission and EcoNorfolk Foundation Inc. Without the
voluntary assistance of Community Members of Norfolk Island who come from diverse
backgrounds this gathering could not have occurred. Special thanks and Appreciation
Certificates have been provided by the Australian Government, Department of
Immigration and Citizenship to: Seventh Day Adventist Church, Sheila Grimshaw,
