CASH REGISTERS VS. POS SYSTEMS
Full featured POS systems provide numerous benefits over a traditional cash register. While a cash register is essentially a glorified calculator, POS systems provide a widerange of time and money saving features. In addition to speeding up paymenttransactions, POS systems automate many aspects of day-to-day business, thusstreamlining a merchant's overall operations Most systems also offer the ability tostreamlining a merchant s overall operations. Most systems also offer the ability totrack inventory and some include other features such as employee time clocks orcustomer databases. Another tremendous benefit provided by POS systems is thecomprehensive reporting they provide. Advanced reporting functionality providesbusiness owners with greater control and allows them to make more informed businessdecisions.
BENEFITS OF A POS SYSTEM
Streamline Operations
Simplified transactions allow more customers to be served in a short amount of time. Not only does a POS system enable merchants to serve customers faster, but also prepare orders more quickly and reduce the time spent on daily office management.
Advanced Reports
Comprehensive, on-demand reports provide any restaurant or retail businesswith organized, detailed data that can provide a merchant with a morecomplete picture of their operation.
Inventory
Advanced reporting and inventory tracking features allow merchants to keepthe proper inventory on hand. This will eliminate lost sales due to being out ofinventory and will also reduce the amount of money tied up in products thatinventory and will also reduce the amount of money tied up in products thatare not moving.

BENEFITS OF A POS SYSTEM
Reduce Shrinkage – A POS system reduces shrinkage in two ways:
The system will help ensure that the correct meal is delivered to the correct table each and every time.
Advanced reporting features allow the merchant to track the amount of p gfood and drink that is typically consumed during a particular meal period. This enables the merchant to effectively gauge how much food needs to be prepared for each meal period.
Customer Management
Retain customer information and purchase history for use in loyalty programsor marketing campaigns. Through aggressive reporting, the merchant can keeptrack of what their customers are buying, the last time their customers made apurchase and the amount of money being spent.
Security Security
PCI compliant POS systems provide peace of mind, protecting sensitivepayment information against costly data breaches.
BENEFITS OF A POS SYSTEM
Reduce Labor Cost
Detailed information about individual employees and their productivity enablesbusiness owners to make more informed staffing decisions, effectivelyreducing labor costs and increasing profitability. Rather than spending time
i l ' h POS k f hi i imanaging employees' hours, a POS system can take care of this time-consumingtask. Multiple time keeping features improve accuracy and eliminate thepractice of employees over-reporting their hours.
Reduce Guest Check Errors
A POS system removes human error by ensuring that each menu item is being calculated correctly on the guest check. Additionally, the ability to update all prices in the POS system eliminates the risk of charging a menu item at the wrong price. The system also removes any miscommunication due to illegible handwriting or language barriers.
