Grand Harbor Welcomes

Corree Schurman J

oin us as we welcome, Corree Schurman as the new Business Manager for Grand Harbor Golf and Yacht Club. Corree has a background in office management and accounting and brings a variety of experience in bookkeeping, administration and customer service to our

team. We sat down with Corree to talk about her new role, Grand Harbor and of all things, barbeque! Where did you grow up? Are you originally from the South? I was born in Oklahoma City, but I grew up in Oregon. I just moved to South Carolina last October. Tell us something interesting about yourself? I'm a competitive BBQ cook and caterer, in my spare time. I was on the TV show BBQ Pitmasters last year, having competed as Sugar's Championship BBQ on 3 episodes (winning 2) and coming in 2nd overall in the finale! I've won several awards for my BBQ, and currently compete as either Lang BBQ Smokers (my main sponsor) or as Rockin' the Smoke. I'm best know for, and have won the most awards for my ribs! It sounds like you could give our kitchen a run for their money! How would you describe your personality? I'm easy going and have a great sense of humor. What did you like most about Grand Harbor when you first visited? It’s such a beautiful property and my first impression was that it has a very peaceful and relaxing feel to it. In addition, every person I've met so far— Members or employees— have been so sweet that I feel right at home. You’re job title is Business Manager, what does that entail? Basically I’ll be handling Member accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, maintaining the Membership Directory, and other general office duties. Aside from barbequing, what are you doing when you’re not at Grand Harbor? Barbeque is my first love! However, I also have culinary training in pastry arts, and I absolutely love to cook just about anything you can imagine. I also enjoy gardening, boating, watching college football, and of course, golfing!

Corree can be reached in the Business Office upstairs in the Clubhouse, at (864) 543-2011 or via email to [email protected].
