The Rotary House cleanup on December 17 was a success, as many hands made light work. Our next cleanup will be in about 6 months. Foundation: Our Club Foundation Board has authorized some spending on many worthy causes, including dictionaries f5180 trafficking project, the SHARE Institute and Get on the Bus.

Community Service: Speaking of dictionaries, Dave will be coordinating a couple of Fridays for delivery, most likely in February. This is alsopportunity to introduce potential members to the fun we have doing community service. Other upcoming community service projects will include River City Food Bank work day, and possibly helping the SHARE Institute get their community garden up and running. We also may have an opportunity to volunteer at the Scott’s Bike to the River event on May 21. If you have an idea for a community service project, let Dave or Charley know. Speech Contest: Cass is working with the Interact Club on the speeccontest, which is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 7 if we have contestants. 2017 Club Fundraiser: We’d like to do another trivia night, possibly in July. If you would like to join Cindi, Cass, Dave and Peg on the planning committee (and who wouldn’t??), let us know. We’ll start planning soon!

At our January 31 meeting, we’ll do a Pick a Charity drawing! One lucky club member will have the good fortune to designate $500 to their charity of choice.
