1. Introduction 1.1. Purpose of the document The document describes the differences of the CLS licensing process between this product (feature) and the standard

process of OpenScape License Management (see document License Guidelines).

2. Product Information 2.1. General a) Depending on the target environment either a MAC Address or the Advanced Locking ID has to be used as Locking

ID. In case of a virtual environment the Advanced Locking ID has to be used. If your system does not display the Locking ID to use, you can calculate the Advanced Locking ID on CLS. For this please click on one of the “Calculate Locking ID” buttons and enter the requested system parameters.

b) The license file of the OpenScape Business always contains all features supported by this product, even if the feature was not activated. In this case its quantity in the license key is 0.

c) The quantity of the feature “OpenScape Business Conference” on a system should has to be less or equal than

the sum of the components.

It will be disabled when one of the following features is activated:

k) CRM functionssty can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business CRM

Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal CRM licenses. It will be disabled as soon as one of the

following licenses is activated:

o OpenScape Business OpenDirectory Connector

o OpenScape Business TAPI

l) UC functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business UC

Suite Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal UC licenses. It will be disabled as soon as one

of the following licenses is activated:

n) Gate View functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business

o) Service functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 30 days by using “OpenScape Business

Service Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal Base licenses. It will be disabled as soon as

p) BLF functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business BLF

Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal BLF licenses. It will be disabled as soon as one of the

following license is activated:

q) Attendant functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business

Attendant Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal Attendant licenses. It will be disabled as

soon as one of the following license is activated:


r) UC functionality can be evaluated on a standalone system for 90 days by using “OpenScape Business UC

Smart Evaluation”. This feature cannot be extended with normal UC licenses. It will be disabled as soon as one

of the following license is activated:


o OpenScape Business myPortal Smart



s) If an “OpenScape Business Voicemail” license is activated together with the “OpenScape Business UC

Smart Evaluation” or “OpenScape Business UC Suite Evaluation” features, evaluation feature’s

component quantity decrease up to “OpenScape Business Voicemail” feature quantity.

t) There exists an upgrade path from HiPath 3000/5000 V9, V8 and V7 (see chap 8).

u) This product supports network licensing. Up to 99 systems can be added to one network license key with a maximum of 2000 user licenses (TDM + IP). Systems are added to a license network when they have the same

“Locking ID of Network CLA”. To add a system to a network, it has to contain the feature “OpenScape Business

Networking”.

v) However new systems added directly to an existing network license do not observe an activation period. They

require regular licenses right away.

w) If a network license has time limited features restricted with validity days, those features will not be represented in the “floating pool” of the network license. Rather they will be included in the correct network package that they originally belong to. Therefore, they can only be requested by its owner system. This case does not apply to regular licenses without network licensing specifications.

x) The “OpenScape Business Base” and the “OpenScape Business Upgrade HiPath 3000 V9” provide a

Business Configuration File input field. It has to be filled when using the upgrade feature, but it is only optional for the base feature. In this field the KDS configuration file content from a HiPath 3000/5000 V9 system has to be entered during upgrade. Additionally the KDS may contain user specific data which is used to identify an End Customer.

y) Evaluation features “OpenScape Business Attendant Evaluation” and “OpenScape Business BLF

Evaluation” can be used to evaluate additional functionality if not already enabled in the system.

z) Activation of one of the following features F31505-K158-D115, F31505-K158-D116, F31505-K158-D117, F31505-K158-D118 requires F31505-K158-D43 and F31505-K158-D47.

aa) Feature “OpenScape Business Upgr. Desktop to Outlook” upgrades existing “OpenScape Business

myPortal for Desktop” to “OpenScape Business myPortal for Outlook”.

bb) Since all the following features are base features, only one of them could be activated at the same time.

pp) If activated on a system, “OpenScape Business Renewal Reinstatement/User” quantity must be equal to the sum of “OpenScape Business IP User” and “OpenScape Business TDM User” quantities. It can only be activated on a system with expired “OpenScape Business Software Support”. It will expand the duration of the expired “OpenScape Business Software Support” by 1 year.

qq) If activated on a system, “OSBiz Renewal Reinstatement/User Promo” quantity must be equal to the sum of “OpenScape Business IP User” and “OpenScape Business TDM User” quantities. It can only be activated on a system with expired “OpenScape Business Software Support”. It will expand the duration of the expired “OpenScape Business Software Support” by 1 year.

rr) If activated on a system, “OpenScape Business Reduction of TDM users” quantity must be equal or less to “OpenScape Business TDM user” quantities. It reduces the number of TDM users on equal quantity of activated reduction feature.

ss) If activated on a system “OpenScape Business Reduction of IP users” quantity must be equal or less to “OpenScape Business IP user” quantities. It reduces the number of IP users on equal quantity of activated reduction feature.

tt) If F31505-K158-D59 or F31505-K158-D81 features can be activated, the following rules must be applied for quantities;

ww) “OpenScape Business PAYG Base licence” and “OSBiz PAYG Promo” features act like a Base license, and enables Software Subscription Reporting on the systems they are activated on. Currently it does not allow usage / add-on / activation of other licenses with itself; except the usage of “OpenScape Business SLES Upgrade key”; only “OpenScape Business SLES Upgrade key” is allowed to be used with “OpenScape Business PAYG Base licence” or with “OSBiz PAYG Promo”. The difference between “OpenScape Business PAYG Base licence” and “OSBiz PAYG Promo” is; for the later one monthly voucher will not be generated. It is simply a promotional feature and it is not allowed for resale. For these features Software Support is not time limited. They bring the following license features into the system they are activated on with the following quantities:

aaa) “OpenScape Business Paritel Pro Plus X1 Base” requires to be activated with “SSP initial 5y enabler Paritel” with the initial activation and then on they must exist together. This action will ensures that all systems which are defined by the base license “OpenScape Business Paritel Pro Plus X1 Base” begins their life cycle with 5 year of SSP contract period.

bbb) After system’s SSP is renewed or reinstated, further actions on the system is validated against total active user licenses. If the following error is encountered: “You are trying to exceed SSP activation tolerance. Until … you need to activate … 'OSBiz SSP Activation Tolerance' to match all product licenses or activate less product licenses.” Please contact user support.

3. First Licensing a) At least one of the following feature has to be used:

b) After the initial activation, CLS will automatically assign OpenScape Business Software Support

feature to the system with a valid calculated SSP Expire Date. The SSP Expire Date of the system will be

tracked on this feature. In the hard license file this will be represented with the “Software_Support” feature, a

license with validity days remaining which is calculated from the creation date of the license key file.

Regeneration and add-on actions on CLS, causes new creation date for/in the license file, so all validity days

get re-calculated for each new action, depending to the generation date again.

c) In network scenarios, the Master Node’s expire date is applied to each node’s expire date, however on CLS

each node has its own Expire Date, due to from any point they may be separated from the network to act as a

stand-alone system. In this case, again validity days are assigned according to that node’s SSP feature’s

expire date. If again, added to the network, then in the license file, corresponding package to that node have

“Software_Support” license’s validity days calculated according to the Master Node’s expire date again.

d) If the system in question has been upgraded from OpenScape Business V1, then the SSP expire date is

calculated from the beginning of that system’s life-cycle, the initial activation of V1 system; most dependently

on the initial activation of the base license when the system was V1, which is due to the fact that a base

license is the system’s identifier feature for SIEL-ID using product lines on CLS.

e) OpenScape Business PAYG Base licence, OSBiz PAYG Promo and OpenScape Business

PAYG X1 Base licence has no time limit on their “Software_Support” due to their

business model, due to this fact CLS does not require to track it with an extra OpenScape Business

Software Support feature.

Please use the Rehost workflow to change values of additional input fields, e.g. a Standby Server Locking ID.

Search for the main Locking ID of the system and perform a Rehost.

Re-enter the former main Locking ID and change the value of the field you want to modify, e.g. enter a new Standby

Server Locking ID.

Please note that it is not possible to search for systems using a Standby Server Locking ID or an additional input value.

We recommend to search using:

In order to perform an upgrade the KDS configuration file content from the HiPath 3000/5000 V9 system has to be

provided into the Business Configuration File input field.

It is even possible to upgrade from HiPath 3000 / 5000 V9 systems containing only TDM licenses that were not licensed

on the CLS by providing the KDS content of the specific system to the Business Configuration File survey question.
