Give Them Something to EatJoh 6:2-13 ESV And a large crowd was following him,

because they saw the signs that he was doing on the sick. (3) Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. (4) Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. (5) Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" (6) He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. (7) Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little." (8) One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, (9) "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves

Give Them Something to EatJoh 6:2-13 continued and two fish, but what are they for so

many?" (10) Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. (11) Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. (12) And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost." (13) So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.

Luk 9:7-9 ESV Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead, (8) by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen. (9) Herod said, "John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?" And he sought to see him.

Luk 9:1-6 ESV And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, (2) and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. (3) And he said to them, "Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. (4) And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. (5) And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." (6) And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Luk 9:10 ESV On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida.

A Large Crowd in a Desolate Place – Go to a Desolate Place

Mar 6:30-32 ESV The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. (31) And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. (32) And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.

Compassionate ChristJohn 6:4-9 ESV Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Compassionate ChristLuke 9:1 ESV And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,

Mark 6:34-37 ESV When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things. (35) And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late. (36) Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat." (37) But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?"

Give Them Something to EatJohn 21:15-19 ESV When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to

Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." (16) He said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." (17) He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. (18) Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go." (19) (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, "Follow me."

Give Them Something to EatJohn 21:20-22 ESV Peter turned and saw the disciple whom

Jesus loved following them, the one who had been reclining at table close to him and had said, "Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?" (21) When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?" (22) Jesus said to him, "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!"

More Than Enough to SatisfyEven with doubts, they still listened

to JesusLuke 9:14-17 ESV For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each." (15) And they did so, and had them all sit down. (16) And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. (17) And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.

More Than Enough to Satisfy2 Corinthians 9:6-15 ESV (6) The point is this: whoever

sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. (7) Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (8) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (9) As it is written, "He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." (10) He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
