Gyproc RhinoLite Skim Plaster for RhinoBoard Product description A gypsum plaster based product specially designed for a complete finish onto plasterboard. Application instructions 1. Mix the content of 1 bag with 12 Litres of water in a flexible bucket. For the best results, use a mechanical mixing paddle. 2. Apply RhinoTape to the joints and cover the joints with RhinoLite skim plaster for board. 3. Apply product onto the pre-jointed surface at a minimum thickness of 2.5mm. Jointing with the same batch before skim application. 4. Apply a thin skim layer of plaster to the whole area. 5. More layers may be applied afterwards, whilst the product is still wet. 6. Run the surface over with the first trowel to level the applied area. 7. Apply a second trowel to the total surface as the product begins to set, in order to remove the trowel lines. 8. Run a final trowel over the hardened surface, applying water conservatively, in order to achieve a smooth surface. 9. Do not sand the plastered surface. Finishing suggestions Gyproc plasters don’t need to be primed before applying paint, provided that our application instructions are adhered to. Variance from the application instructions will result in dust or residue on the surface after set and dry time is completed, please consult your painting supplier for a suitable plaster primer. Applying a primer will assist against potential delamination of finishing materials, due to deviance from the application and cleaning instructions. It remains our suggestion to adhere to the application instructions as stipulated. Benefits Pre-treatment of joints and screws are not required. • Total coverage of plasterboard, provides a holistically smooth surface. • Skimmed surfaces are highly resistant to impact and scratches. • Application method is similar to hand skim application of other RhinoLite/CreteStone products. • Skimmed surfaces can be painted directly after the product is set and dry. No sanding required. Storage & handling • Surfaces to be clean of dust and oil residue before application. Don’t apply when temperature is below freezing. Application of epoxy paint is not recommended. • Please consult your paint manufacturing company for recommendations on plaster primers and paint. • Store inside on a level surface, off the floor, in a dry place protected from the weather.
