Vehicles are one of the forms of transportation.Hence by the virtue of this idea & energy

conservation we are presenting papers on

Electric Vehicles (bicycles).

In our papers we have provided history ofelectric vehicles, working and over all important

aspects as per our knowledge.

HISTORY,Origins and Developments:

History of the electric vehicles began in the mid-1800s and heldthe vehicular land speed record until around 1900.

Electric motive power started with a small railway operated by a

miniature electric motor, built by Thomas Davenport in 1835.

Robert Anderson of Scotland invented the first crude electriccarriage, powered by non-rechargeable Primary cells.

Modern society is facing huge problems in the field oftransportation.

Development of classical internal combustion powered vehiclescannot solve these problems.

The most obvious problems are air pollution, dense traffic, cost oftransportation oil, and relatively high numbers of accidents.

Advanced electric vehicles of new generation can solve theseproblems.

With the development of lighter and more powerful electric

motors, which will be mounted directly into wheel of vehicle(Direct Drive - DD) and with development of new energy sourceswe can make technically superior and economically affordableelectric vehicle.

Why We Use An Electric Bicycle?

It is sometimes very hard to drive your car to thenearby market place and hunt for a parking space toget a small thing like a milk bottle or say a breadpacket.

The electric bicycle can be used for local errandsinstead of using your car for which. Some people evenuse electric bicycle to go to work and the studentsenjoying riding to the college, to the tennis court. You

and your children can even go for a joy ride aroundtown or parks.

An electric bicycle can really do most of your trips aswell as or even faster than your car.

Direct drive with best high torque

electric motors Andrej Detela from Slovenia has developed the best

electric motor.

This electric motor is so powerful and so light, that itwill be possible to integrate it directly into the wheel

of the vehicle. Aside from steering mechanisms, the wheel will be

the only moving part of propulsion system.

DD can be used from bicycles to motorcycles andelectric cars.

In the case of car, we can have motor in eachwheel. In bicycles, mopeds or motorcycles one isenough.

Advantages of electric over gasoline

power: 1. The fuel costs for electric power are less than

one-third the cost of gasoline power.

2. Nearly silent.

3. Zero emissions. Can ride indoors.

4. No trips needed to a petrol station. Plug in and

recharge at home.

5. Lower maintenance costs and fewer maintenance

activities. For example, no need to change oil.

6. In many European cities, traffic in central zones is

limited to electric vehicles only.

DisAdvantages

1. Up front costs are higher than comparative

gasoline powered motorcycle or scooter.

2. Reliability not proven. How long do the

batteries last?

3. Shorter range before recharging.

4. Longer "fill up" or recharge time.
