PRESENTATION ON TOUCHSCREEN TECHNOLOGY
INDEXIntroductionHistoryWorking of touchscreen technologyLatest developmentApplicationPros & ConsConclusion
Introduction
A touch screen is computer display screen that is sensitive to human touch.
The display screen has a sensitive glass overlay placed on it and we could give the desired input by touching it.
HISTORYIn 1965, the first “touchscreen” was developed by E.A. Johnson.{i.e. capacitive touch technology}In 1971, The first transparent touch screen was developed by Dr. Sam Hurst.
Working of TouchscreenMain Components : -
Touch Sensor Controller Software drivers
Touch SensorA touch screen sensor is a clear glass panel with a touch responsive surface.
The sensor generally has an electrical current or signal going through it and touching the screen .
ControllerThe controller is a small PC card that connects between the touch sensor and the PC.
The controller determines what type of connection you will need on the PC.
DriversThe driver is a software that allows the touch screen and computer to work together.

Types of Touch Screen Technologies:
Resistive Touch Screen
Capacitive Touch Screen
Here , we are going to understand how resistive touch technology works and differtent from capacitive technology.
Introducing a New Touch Screen SystemIt’s a touch screen where the screen itself is the sensor. NFI uses asophisticated sensing circuit that can detect a conductive object - a finger or conductive stylus - through a layer of glass.

ConsDirect pointing to the objects.Fast.Finger or pen is usable (No cable required). No keyboard necessary.
Low precision by using finger.User has to sit or stand closer to the screen. The screen may be covered more by using hand.No direct activation to the selected function.
Pros
Today, a larger share of population is PC literate, yet the touchscreen has become adopted by computer users of all abilities because it is simple, fast, and innovative.
In future there is no usage of mouse and keyboards as they will be replaced by touchscreens.
