• Welcome to Orenburg region. • These places are very beautiful. So

many dates of Russia are connected with the city of Orenburg. Orenburg is located in the Ural River in South Urals. Distance from Moscow is 1478 km. Population – 5244 thousand inhabitants(2009), Area is 310 square km. Orenburg was founded in 1735.

• Immediately take your things and fly to the city of Orenburg.

• On Soviet street, Building 24 is a museum dedicated to Ukrainian and Russian poet Taras Shevchenko. They will tell you all the details about his artwork and about his life.

“Red Mountain”

• You should see “Red Mountain”.

• Red Mountain – one of the most interesting places of Orenburg region. There was built a real Russian fortress in full size. To this tourist complex come tourists all year round. A stay here is really worth of it.

• From “Red Mountain” you can see surroundings, and Saraktash. Under a mountain flows river Sakmara.

• In 1998, there was shot the historical drama “Russian revolt” about the events of the peasant war. It’s screenplay of Alexander Pushkin’s “The Captain’s Daughter” and “The History of the Pugachev revolt”.

• Belogorsk fortress was built on Red Mountain in full size (by the way, in Pushkin’s story, it also was near Orenburg). All the buildings are made of wood: house, church, mills, wells, etc. The film was released in 1999. thanks to the film previously little – known Red Mountain changed and become a real distance for tourists.

• This complex has turned into a real museum – reserve in the open air. On the basis of scenery was created landscape – folk Museum. Here you can eat (in the bar-restaurantl) there is a hotel complex, a sauna, a relaxation room, a swimming pool. From time to time are interesting events.

Holy Trinity Convent of Mercy

• But the main attraction of Saraktash – Holy Trinity Convent of Mersy. It is a grand church and architectural ensemble, which has been built and expanded since the early 1990’s.

• In addition to the temple, there is religious school, an Orthodox high school, House of Mercy, a bakery. There is even a small museum, which exhibits the most interesting: ancient coins, old church books, household items and plates.

• Incidentally, the Holy Trinity Church was the largest set in the entire Diocese of Orenburg bell weighing 2700 pounds.

• According to the priests, in 1990 there was a miracle – the phenomenon of self – renewal of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. And it’s happened with the usual icon made before the end of XIX – early XX century.
