The oldest existing action, however, issued by the Dutch trading company Voc, dates back to the early seventeenth century.

INTRODUZIONEUn titolo storico è un titolo fuori corso e privo di valore borsistico, che rappresenta una viva ed autentica testimonianza del passato così come un manoscritto. Le carte valori d’epoca rivestono un pregio particolarmente importante per la storia economica e la storia del gusto, preziosi ed affascinanti frammenti indispensabili per ricomporre il complesso mosaico del cammino umano. E’ una forma di collezionismo sempre più diffusa. Ormai privi di alcun valore reale, i certificati azionari e obbligazionari d’epoca sono oggi ricercati per la loro valenza storico-documentativa, se non addirittura per il loro valore artistico. Sebbene la storia di documenti comprovanti transazioni finanziarie risalga alla notte dei tempi, sembra che la prima società a trasformare i propri clienti in azionisti sia stata la Banca di San Giorgio, fondata a Genova nel 1407. La più antica azione esistente, emessa dalla compagnia di commercio olandese Voc, risale al primi anni del Seicento.

Language existed long before writing, emerging probably simultaneously with sapience, abstract thought and the Genus Homo. The signature event that separated the emergence of palaeohumans from their anthropoid progenitors was not tool-making but a rudimentary oral communication that replaced the hoots and gestures still used by lower primates. The transfer of more complex information, ideas and concepts from one individual to another, or to a group, was the single most advantageous evolutionary adaptation for species preservation. The advent of a writing system, however, seems to coincide with the transition from hunter-gatherer societies to more permanent agrarian encampments when it became necessary to count ones property, whether it be parcels of land, animals or measures of grain or to transfer that property to another individual or another settlement. We see the first evidence for this with incised “counting tokens” about 9,000 years ago in the neolithic fertile crescent.Around 4100-3800 BCE, the tokens began to be symbols that could be impressed or inscribed in clay to represent a record of land, grain or cattle and a written language was beginning to develop. One of the earliest examples was found in the excavations of Uruk in Mesopotamia at a level representing the time of the crystallization of the Sumerian culture.The signs of the Sumerians were adopted by the East Semitic peoples of Mesopotamia and Akkadian became the first Semitic language and would be used by the Babylonians and Assyrians. The Akkadian characters continued to represent syllables with defined vowels.For the next step toward the development of an alphabet, we must go to Egypt where picture writing had developed sometime near the end of the 4th millennium BC. Egyptian were also the first to use the union of ink, pen and papyrus: a great step into modern writing.

Il trasferimento di ulteriori informazioni complesse, idee e concetti da un individuo ad un altro, o di un gruppo, era l’unico adattamento evolutivo vantaggioso per la conservazione delle specie. L’avvento di un sistema di scrittura, però, sembra coincidere con il passaggio da società di cacciatori-raccoglitori a società agrarie permanenti per la necessità di stabilire e riconoscere la proprietà, che si trattasse di appezzamenti di terreno, animali o misure di grano o di trasferire tali beni ad un altro individuo o un altro insediamento. Vediamo la prima prova di ciò con incisi “a conteggio di gettoni” risalenti a circa 9.000 anni fa nella mezzaluna fertile neolitico. After the development of writings and alphabets in cultures around middle east and Mediterranean, Greek is in turn the source for all the modern scripts of Europe. The greek alphabet was borrowed from the Phoenician and adapted it to their own language. The most widespread descendent of Greek is the Latin script, named for the Latins, a central Italian people who came to dominate Europe with the rise of Rome. The Romans learned writing in about the 5th century BCE from the Etruscan civilization, who used one of a number of Italic scripts derived from the western Greeks.

With the collapse of the Roman authority in Western Europe, the literary development became largely confined to the Eastern Roman Empire and the Persian Empire. Latin, never one of the primary literary languages, rapidly declined in importance (except within the Church of Rome). The primary literary languages were Greek and Persian but the development of Islam in the 7th century led to the rapid rise of Arabic as a major literary language in the region. Arabic and Persian quickly began to overshadow Greek’s role as a language of scholarship. The Arabic language also served to spread the Hindu–Arabic numeral system throughout Europe.

By the 14th century a rebirth, or renaissance, had emerged in Western Europe leading to a temporary revival of the importance of Greek, and a slow revival of Latin as a significant literary language. At the same time Arabic and Persian began a slow decline. The revival of literary development in Western Europe led to many innovations in the Latin alphabet and the diversification of the alphabet to codify the phonologies of the various languages. The nature of writing has been constantly evolving, particularly due to the development of new technologies over the centuries. The pen, the invention of the printing press, the computer and the mobile phone are all technological developments which have altered what is written, and the medium through which the written word is produced.

La lingua più diffusa e discendente dal greco è il Latino, di cui popolo italiano (i Latini ) ne fa parte e ha dominato l’Europa con l’ascesa di Roma. I Romani impararono a scrivere intorno al V secolo aC dalla civiltà etrusca, che usava una di una serie di caratteri italici derivati dai Greci occidentali.

Con il crollo dell’autorità romana in Europa Occidentale, lo sviluppo letterario fu in gran parte confinato all’Impero Romano d’Oriente e dell’Impero Persiano. Il latino, una delle più importanti lingue usate in letteratura, si ridusse di importanza (ad eccezione nella Chiesa di Roma). Le lingue letterarie primarie erano greco e persiano ma l’ascesa dell’Islam nel settimo secolo ha portato alla rapida ascesa dell’ arabo come lingua letteraria. Arabo e persiano cominciarono rapidamente a mettere in ombra il ruolo del greco come lingua ufficiale per lo studio. La lingua araba è servita anche a diffondere il sistema numerico indo-arabo in tutta Europa.

Dal quattordicesimo secolo assistiamo ad una rinascita, o meglio il Rinascimento, dall’Europa occidentale assisteremo ad una ripresa temporanea dell’importanza del greco e una lenta ripresa del latino come lingua usata in letteratura.Allo stesso tempo, arabo e persiano hanno iniziato un lento declino. Il rilancio dello sviluppo letterario in Europa occidentale ha portato molte innovazioni dell’alfabeto latino e la diversificazione alla codifica delle fonologie delle varie lingue moderne. Ancora oggi la natura della scrittura è in continua evoluzione, grazie allo sviluppo delle nuove tecnologie sviluppate nei secoli. La penna, l’invenzione della stampa e ai giorni nostri il computer, sono tutti sviluppi tecnologici che hanno modificato ciò che è scritto e il mezzo attraverso cui la parola scritta si produce.

History is brought to us by documents, it could be a manuscript as much as an old bond or a painting, and history was re-written many times as documents are discovered. There is a good reason to classificate financial documents as very important from an historical standpoint: their impartiality, which means you can follow the information you find through them to discover what happen in a certain period of time to certain countries or famous companies.

La storia ci viene trasmessa da documenti, da un manoscritto ad un quadro, da una foto ad un antico certificato azionario. La storia è

stata riscritta molte volte grazie alla scoperta di nuovi documenti. C’è una buona ragione per classificare documenti finanziari come molto

importanti dal punto di vista storico: l’imparzialità, il che significa che è possibile seguire le informazioni che scopriamo attraverso di

loro, per scoprire cosa accade realmente in un determinato periodo di tempo in certi paesi o a particolari aziende.

Sin da prima dell’introduzione della carta-moneta, che risale al ‘700, esistevano documenti finanziari che attestavano un determinato valore di scambio o prestito senza il bisogno che fossero costituiti da materiali preziosi (come le monete dell’epoca). Alcuni tra i primi furono le fedi di credito dei banchi italiani, privati prima e pubblici poi, questo poiche proprio sul territorio del bel Paese sorsero i primissimi istituti bancari.Le fedi di credito erano i documenti che i banchi rilasciavano al momento in cui un bene veniva impegnato. Vennero affiancati da altri documenti di prestito quando i banchi iniziarono a ricoprire queste funzioni.Questi documenti, all’inizio erano puramente manoscritti, si arricchirono via via di stemmi, sigilli, timbri a secco e filigrane, oltre alle firme degli interessati e dei cassieri. Per quasi cinque secoli le fedi rimasero in circolazione e ogni qualvolta avveniva una riscossione venivano estinte infilzandole e appendendole con una corda, ordinandole per data.

La parola “monte” deriva dal concetto di cumulo (di denaro) e quindi l’ “accumulo” di ricchezza. I monti potevano essere “vacabili”, garantendo solo una rendita ma con capitale investito a fondo perduto, oppure “invacabili” o “redimibili” con possibilità di ritorno della cifra investita.I monti rimasero a lungo in circolazione e finanziarono molti regni dell’epoca. La chiave di questo successo fu sia la solidità economica degli enti emittenti, sia che essi potevano essere valutati secondo criteri monetari unitari, benche presentassero grandi personalizzazioni di rendita e scadenza.Seguendo questo modello anche la Chiesa e molti altri stati si procurarono denaro attraverso l’emissione di debiti, talvolta indebitandosi con i creditori a tal punto da dover chiedere prestiti a banche o altri stati per poter continuare a pagarne le rendite.

La società che per prima usò la parola Aktie (azione) fu la “Compagnia delle Indie Orientale”, che effettuava collegamenti navali con l’India e la Cina, importando spezie cotone e avorio. Il più antico titolo che si conosca è un’azione rilasciata nel 1606 proprio da questa Compagnia, che resta custodito presso la Borsa Valori di Amsterdam. La Compagnia delle Indie Orientali aveva una struttura analoga alle attuali S.p.A, chi acquistava azioni diventava un vero e proprio socio, partecipando indirettamente alla vita della società stessa, sia agli utili sia alle perdite. Non di rado poi, gli azionisti erano pagati mediante gli stessi prodotti d’importazione.Due secoli dopo, durante l’enorme espansione industriale, le società inizieranno ad avere bisogno di sempre più capitali per potersi affermare ed è per questo che in numerosi casi vennero emesse azioni e obbligazioni per aumentare i fondi disponibili.

Questa recente forma di collezionismo, già affermata da tempo all’estero, riveste un fascino indubbiamente maggiore che non, per esempio, rispetto ai francobolli e monete, poiche oltre alla maggior rarità si cerca nel certificato, attraverso gli statuti, le firme degli amministratori e gli aumenti di capitale, si è in grado di ricostruire la storia della società.

Scripomuseum (www. scripomuseum.com) è la naturale evoluzione del progetto iniziato nel 1999 dal fondatore Alberto Puppo, (storico collezionista e appassionato, perito ed esperto in questo settore) con l’intento di riunire in un unico sito internet (www. scripofilia.com) tutti gli amanti del collezionismo cartaceo di qualità. Dopo essere diventato il sito di riferimento per l’acquisto di certificati azionari, obbligazioni, manoscritti e altri articoli di grande valore, ora punta a diventare un museo della storia cartacea. E’ un’enorme fondo di articoli dedicati alla storia della finanza a cui vengono associate schede di approfondimento ed immagini fotografiche. Da un lato nuovi documenti continuano ad aggiungersi, dall’altro anche quelli non più disponibili continuano a sopravvivere virtualmente con la loro scheda, che ne documenta esistenza e caratteristiche.Scripomuseum rappresenta un patrimonio in cui attraverso la barra del tempo, viene documentata l’evoluzione della storia della finanza. Il museo si trova a Bee in una splendida località sulle colline di Verbania, sul Lago Maggiore. Siamo a solo 45 minuti dalla zona fiere della nuova area Expo e a soli 15 minuti dall’uscita autostradale. Per chi proviene dal Canton Ticino ( Svizzera ) siamo a 30 minuti dalla dogana. La visita e la consultazione delle nostre collezioni è visibile su appuntamento dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 09.30 alle 17.30. Roberto Puppo, born in Bolzano the 9th of september 1937 - died in Verbania the 14th of June 2003. He was an Insurance Agent in Milano Insurance L.t.d. - Division “La Previdente”. He began his career in insurance at the age of 19. He married Carla Gini in 1963, the first son Diego was born in 1964 followed by Alberto in 1970.

Roberto Puppo worked for the company from 1968 to 1997, he was the only one in history to hold this Position as National Secretary and Treasurer, for 29 years consecutively in the Group Agents Insurance in Italy “La Previdente Insurance”. Also founder and one of the main Partners, Secretary and Treasurer in the branch in V.C.O..

He was elected several times as Councillor in Verbania from 1970 untill 1995 holding various responsible positions, Member of commissions of National Health Service and Work-Related Injuries Agency Insurance, VicePresident in the local Merchant Association from 1994 and Member of Chamber of Commerce from 1997.President/secretary of the Rotary Club of Pallanza-Stresa from year 2000, Partner and Founder of Cultural Organization “Il Circolo di Verbania” from 2001. His first son Diego studied in “Ferrini” he received

1962. Ha iniziato l’attività nel campo assicurativo a 19 anni. Sposato con Carla Gini nel 1963, dal matrimonio sono nati Diego nel 1964 e Alberto nel 1970. Ha ricoperto per ben 29 anni dal 1968 al 1997, unico nella storia nei Gruppi Agenti di Assicurazione in Italia, la carica di Segretario Nazionale e Tesoriere del Gruppo Agenti de “La Previdente Assicurazioni”. Inoltre, ne è stato uno dei soci fondatori, il Segretario e il Tesoriere della sezione del V.C.O..

Consigliere Comunale di Verbania dal 1970 al 1995 ha ricoperto più volte l’incarico di Assessore delle diverse branche dell’Amministrazione e componente di commissioni A.S.L. e I.N.A.I.L. Vice-Presidente dell’Associazione Commercianti dal 1994 e componente della Camera di Commercio dal 1997.

Generale ed inoltre Presidente del Kiwanis Club Verbania. Il figlio Alberto finito gli studi tecnici commerciali si è specializzato in informatica e telecomunicazioni, nel 1999 ha portato la rete internet nella Provincia di Verbania (tra le prime in Italia ad essere connesse), ha sviluppato i primi servizi per la pubblica amministrazione e per il turismo. Nel 2001 ha aperto nel V.C.O. negozi specializzati per la

vendita di Personal Computer e altro materiale informatico. Attualmente è consulente d’affari in progetti nazionali ed internazionali, si occupa dello sviluppo di una “Cultura di Pace” e di una vita migliore. E’ attivo nel volontariato in ambito umanitario per la salute, l’educazione, l’ambiente e la spiritualità. Il progetto attuale è quello della Scripofilia una forma di collezionismo tra arte, storia ed investimento. Progetto che dedica alla

memoria del padre.

Tutti coloro che hanno conosciuto Roberto lo ricordano così: dedito al lavoro e alla famiglia, impegnato socialmente, eticamente irreprensibile, con una forte apertura verso il prossimo e uno spiccato senso dell’amicizia.

His second son Alberto finished his studies as Sales Engineer and then specialized in Computer and telecommunication, in 1999 he introduced the web to the province of Verbania (one of the first zones to be connected in Italy), developing the first services for public administration and tourism. In 2001 he opened specialized shops in V.C.O. for personal computers and computer material. At this moment in time he is a business consultant in national and international projects, involved in developing a “Peacefull Culture” for a better life. Active in voluntary work for humanity, health, education, environment and spirituality. Another current project that concerns his life is scripophily, this project is dedicated to the memory of his father.

Everybody who has known Roberto remembers him to be dedicated to his family and his work, socially committed, ethically incorruptible, outgoing and extremely friendly.
