NTELLECTUAL PROPERTY has become one, if not the most key aspect of competitiveness in our knowledge societies within a world that is now unstable, ephemerical, brutal and multi-polar.

Contemporary economies are now at the heart of the Law, the figure, and the valuation of intellectual property assets : patents, trademarks, utility models, domain names, and copyright.

As proven by recent headlines, the protection of these rights exceeds by far the legal sphere, with its strategic, tactical, financial and business dimensions.

As a reference for IP professionals, the  7th occurrence of the Paris’ International Conference on Intellectual Property will be punctuated by two agendas :

1. technical and international “Growth through innovation”

2. political and mostly French “Innovation as a challenge in the Presidential election”.

In gathering both policy-makers, companies and all the IP professionals for a great debate at the beginning of the Presidential campaign, the event will be particularily outstanding.

It will tentatively provide practical answers to the following questions :

- Support to innovation : how can we ensure the transition from policy-making to the best financing practices ?

- Judiciary and patents : following recent transatlantic developments, towards the unitary patent in Europe and the America Invents Act in the U.S., what are the new challenges of harmonization ?

- Which are the best strategies in order to value your innovation policies ?

- Digital world, eco-innovation, fight against counterfeiting : What are the issues at stake ? How can we anticipate the risks ?

More than 50 very high-level speakers will respond to these questions and to more, notably through a multiplicity of industry case studies ; several French and international leaders will come to expose their valuation strategies, their innovation policies. Hundreds of participants are awaited, of which two-thirds of SMEs, multinationals and public research centres.
