CENTER EXHAUST PIPE — 2015 OutlanderSport/RVR - AWD, April 2015 ProductionOnly.

ASA CAPS may list the center pipe on 2015Outlander Sport AWD models that wereproduced in April 2015 as Part Number1570C892. However, due to the partstransition timing on the production line, thepart on the vehicle may be 1570C689. Thepipes are bent differently and the hangingbrackets may not align. The earlier part,1570C689, requires a clamp on the heatshields while 1570C892 does not. If the heatshields require replacement on such a vehicle, compare the ASA CAPS diagrams to confirmthat the part is 1570C689 and order theappropriate heat shields from that ASA CAPSdiagram (shown in the following illustration).

 CVT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF P (PARK)POSITION — 2013-15 Outlander Sport/RVR.

If the customer cannot shift the vehicle out ofthe Park position, even intermittently, refer toGroup 52A, Floor Console Assembly, andperform the following procedure beforereplacing the shifter.

Remove the RH console side panel. Whilewatching the movement of the shift locksolenoid, have someone apply the brake pedalwith the ignition ON to determine if thesolenoid retracts. If the solenoid does notretract or retracts slowly, it may be due toforeign material, identified as a sugary drink(e.g., Cola) residue built up in the solenoidplunger bore and on the solenoid plunger.

This prevents the solenoid from retractingand the shifter cannot be moved from Park.

Remove the solenoid for cleaning as follows:

ACCESSORY FRONT/REAR PARK ASSISTDIAGNOSIS — All models w/Accessory ParkAssist.

When a vehicle with a reported concern withpark assist sensors is being diagnosed, thefirst step is to test the accessory systemoperation and to understand what can causea false sensor detection.

System Diagnostic TonesIn normal operation the park assistancesystem will emit one beep when the systemis activated (vehicle ignition switch in ONposition and shifter placed in Reverseposition).

Vehicle Preparation:

Front sensors - Place vehicle ignition switchin ON position – sensors activated and ready.

Backup sensors – Place vehicle ignitionswitch in ON position, engage parking brake, and place shifter in Reverse - sensors areactivated and ready.

Check each sensor by slowly moving asolid object towards each sensor toconfirm changes on beep tones (slowsteady beep, rapid steady beep, to a solidbeep tone, as indicated in the accessoryowner’s manual). If changes to the beeptone are confirmed on all sensors it willindicate proper operation.

Possible Failure:

1) If a sensor(s) continues to have the samebeep tone in the checking process above, thiswill indicate a possible faulty sensor or adisconnected sensor/broken wire harnessconnection.

Continuously sounds 2 beep tones - 1 sensor is faulty.

Continuously sounds 3 beep tones - 2 sensors are faulty.

Continuously sounds 4 beep tones – 3 or more sensors are faulty.

2) Deposits of dirt or car polish may result indetection errors. Water from washing the caror rain on the sensors may also affectaccuracy of the system and cause falsereadings.

3) The following below are other conditionsthat may cause the park assist system not towork accurately:

Vehicle is heavily weighted. Vehicle is driven on a bumpy road, an

incline, gravel, or grass. Ultrasonic wave interference, such as

horns, air brake noise, or similar parkassistance system operating nearby.

Radio communication system nearby. Bumper or sensors are impacted. Sensors are frozen. Front license plate frame (large/loose) Angle sensors installed incorrectly

Accessory park assist diagnostics areincluded with each kit instructions, which isplaced in the vehicle's glovebox.

If the manual cannot be found, a copy of theowner’s manual can be obtained in CAPS (askyour Parts department):

Go to “ACC” (Accessory), select applicableModel Family, Year, Trim; Main Group ->Electronics; Sub Group -> Sensors. Selectapplicable part number, then click on theInstructions tab; and Fitting instructions forinstallation and programming instructions.

PLEASE NOTE: Claims submitted for park assistcomponents, or replacement park assist kitsthat are determined to be “no fault found" aresubject to chargeback.
