CLUB PLUS PLYWOOD

GENERAL

Supplying of BWP grade plywood manufactured in accordance to IS: 10701 norms for structural

grade plywood laid down by Bureau of Indian Standards and surpassing the test values of IS: 710

specifications for BWP Marine Plywood. The resultant plywood should meet or exceed all the

parameters laid down under IS: 10701 test protocol for Moisture content, Glue Shear Strength,

Water Resistance, Resistance to micro-organism, Tensile strength, Compressive strength, bending

strength (Modulus of Rupture & Modulus of Elasticity), panel shear strength, modulus of rigidity, wet

bending strength & preservative retention.

The species of timber, adhesive, treatment, construction and manufacturing process used shall

conform to IS: 10701 norms.

MATERIAL

a) Timber: 100% Gurjan (Dipterocarpus idicus) species timber to be used in accordance to IS:

3629 for all face and core veneers

b) Adhesive: Un-extended modified synthetic resin phenol formaldehyde type and shall

conform to BWP type specified in IS 848.

TREATMENT

a) Fully preservative treated with organic compounds such as Biflex TC and other chemicals

including Sodium Penta-Chloro-Phenate & Copper Chrome Boron (CCB) as per IS: 5539

MANUFACTURING

a) Veneers used for construction should be obtained through rotary cut or slicing

b) Core veneers should be spliced before final assembly and construction

c) Veneers should be dried to moisture content not exceeding 6%.

d) The glued veneers shall be assembled with the grain direction in alternate layers at right

angles to each other and hot pressed under controlled conditions of temperature, pressure

and pressing time.

e) The two face veneers shall run in the same direction and the assembly shall be balanced

around the central line of the plywood cross-section.

f) All veneers should have a uniform thickness of 1.55mm with a tolerance of ± 5%

g) Core gaps, overlaps and warps shall not be permitted

OTHER FEATURES

The resultant plywood panel should have density of 900 Kg/CBM with 100% balanced core

construction. The plywood shall be borer proof, termite proof, anti-fungal and free from bacteria

attacks. It should have partial fire resistance properties as per IS: 5509 (limited treatment with

mono-ammonium phosphate and tri-crysol phosphate) and partial sound absorbent properties (up

to 42 decibels by 19mm plywood) as per IS: 10420 (1982) norms.

The plywood panel shall be emission free as E1 standards for formaldehyde emission and certified

with Conformity Europa (CE) mark for quality standards.

GUARANTEE

The resultant plywood panel will have a lifetime guarantee. In the unlikely event of any deterioration

or insect infestation being discovered in the product, Greenply stands guarantee to compensate you

for the value of the furniture or 3 times the cost of the plywood, whichever is lower. Damages

resulting from improper storage, handling, machining, joinery and other mechanical, chemical or any

other treatment are not covered under this guarantee.

CLUB PREMIUM PLYWOOD

GENERAL

Supplying of BWP grade plywood manufactured as per IS: 10701 norms for structural grade plywood

laid down by Bureau of Indian Standards and surpassing the test values of IS: 710 specifications for

BWP Marine Plywood. The resultant plywood should meet all the parameters laid down under IS:

GREEN MARINE GRADE PLYWOOD

GENERAL

Supplying of BWP Marine grade plywood manufactured in accordance to IS: 710 norms for Marine

plywood laid down by Bureau of Indian Standards. The resultant plywood should meet all the

parameters laid down under IS: 710 test protocol for Moisture content, Glue Shear Strength, Water

Resistance, Resistance to micro-organism, Tensile strength, bending strength (Modulus of Rupture &

Modulus of Elasticity), adhesion of plies & wet bending strength.

MATERIAL

e) Timber: The species of timbers to be used for the manufacture of face veneers, cores and

cross bands of marine plywood shall be as per IS:710 norms prescribed under clause 4.1.1

f) Adhesive: The adhesive used for bonding the veneers shall be modified synthetic PF resin

conforming to BWP Type of IS 848. Extender shall not be added to the adhesive by the

manufacturer. Fillers, if used, shall not exceed 10 percent by mass of solid content of the

glue.

TREATMENT

c) Fully preservative treated with organic compounds such as Biflex TC and other chemicals

board shall have a preservative retention of 2.5 Kg/m3

MOISTURE CONTENT

Finished plywood boards shall have moisture content of not less than 5 percent and not more than

15 percent at any time of the year depending on the part of the country where the test is carried out

OTHER FEATURES

The resultant plywood panel should have density of 650 Kg/CBM with balanced core construction.

The plywood shall be borer proof & termite resistant as per the norms specified under the test

protocol of IS: 710.

The plywood panel shall be emission free as E1 standards for formaldehyde emission (emission level

Class E1 Standard as per ENV 717/1) and certified with Conformity Europa (CE) mark for quality

standards.

GUARANTEE

The resultant plywood panel will have a guarantee of 9 years limited to manufacturing defects.

Damages resulting from improper storage, handling, machining, joinery and other mechanical,

chemical or any other treatment are not covered under this guarantee.

Green Doors: BWP Grade Flush Doors with Engineered

Wood Filler (IS: 2202 – Part 1)

General

Supplying of boiling water proof flush doors as per IS- 2202 ( Part 1) conforming to BWP

grade adhesive as per IS- 848 and meeting all the parameters laid down under IS- 2202 ( Part

1) test protocol such as dimensions and squareness test ,general flatness test, local plainness

test ,impact indention test ,edge loading test ,shock resistance test, buckling test, slamming

test ,end emersion test, knife test, glue adhesion test, screw withdrawal test and varying

humidity test .All the tests shall be conducted in accordance with IS- 4020 ( Part 1-16 test

protocol) .The resultant flush doors shall have timber species as per ( Clause 6.1.1 ,6.1.2 and

6.1.5 ) of IS- 2202 ( Part 1) for Filler ,Stiles , Rails and Lipping.

Material

Timber

The frame including the Stile and Rails are of Pine species thoroughly seasoned in PLC

control seasoning chamber with high screw holding properties. The moisture content in

timber used for manufacturing shall not be more than 12 % when tested according to IS- 1708

(Part 1) .The cross band used in flush door shutters shall conform to requirements laid down

in IS- 710 .The commercial face veneer used in flush door shutter shall conform to the

requirements laid down for veneers for marine grade plywood as per IS- 710.The filler of

flush door shutter shall be made of agro forest timber chips fully preservative treated and

glued under high pressure using BWP grade adhesive as per IS -848.

Adhesive

Adhesive used for bonding cross band and face veneer to core shall be phenol formaldehyde

(modified synthetic resole resin) as conforming to BWP grade as specified in IS- 848.

Preservative

The preservative treatment of flush door shutter shall be as per IS- 401 test protocol. The

preservative treatment shall be done using organic chemicals in both glue line protection and

surface treatment .Chemicals such as sodium penta chlorophenate and copper chrome boron

are used in accordance to the norms laid down under IS- 401 test protocol .

Construction

Frame

A) Species of timber: Selected species (such as pine) as BIS specifications.

B) Frame Width: The width of frames constructed of Stiles and Rails in green flush door

shutters shall be 75 mm from all sides.

Filler

A) Material : Engineered wood strips made of selected agro forest timber chips fully

preservative treated and glued adhesive and permissible organic preservatives as per the

norms laid under IS -2202 ( Part 1 )for core and fillers .The width of engineered wood

strips used as filler shall be between 30mm to 50 mm and moisture content of not more

than 12 %.

B) Core: The cross veneer used on both sides of flush door shuttering shall be of 2.5 mm

thickness made of select hardwood species with composed core and treated with

modified synthetic BWP grade resin as per IS- 848.

C) Face: A grade Gurjan ( Diptaro carpus Indicus ) species timber is used for face veneer

with a thickness of 0.5mm and conforming to the requirements laid down for veneer

under IS 710 for marine grade plywood.

D) Lipping: It shall be provided if so desired by purchaser .Lipping may be provided

internal or external as specified by the purchaser. The lipping used in flush doors shutter

shall be free from joints and as per the norms laid down under IS 2202 (Part 1) for timber

species adhesion and measurements.

Tolerance: Tolerances on height, width and thickness of flush door shutter shall be

governed as per IS- 2202 (Part 1)

Green Doors: BWP Grade Flush Doors with Solid Wood Filler

(IS: 2202 – Part 1)

General

shutters shall be 75 mm from all sides with permission of on-site cutting of up to 12mm from

each side in the frame.

Filler

C) Material: The wooden strips for core shall be cut out from the timbers and seasoned to a

moisture content not exceeding 12 percent. The width of each strip of wood shall not

exceed 30 mm. These strips may consist of pieces of small lengths placed end to end with

the end joints staggered. In anyone block-board, the core strips shall be of one species of

timber only. The strips of wood may be laid separately or spot glued or otherwise jointed

to form a core which is glued between two or more outer veneers with the direction of the

grain of core blocks running at right angles to that of the adjacent veneer.

D) Core: The cross veneer used on both sides of flush door shuttering shall be of 2.5 mm

thickness made of select hardwood species with composed core and treated with

modified synthetic BWP grade resin as per IS- 848.

E) Face: A grade Gurjan ( Diptarocarpus Indicus ) species timber is used for face veneer

with a thickness of 0.5mm and conforming to the requirements laid down for veneer

under IS 710 for marine grade plywood.

F) Lipping: It shall be provided if so desired by purchaser .Lipping may be provided

internal or external as specified by the purchaser. The lipping used in flush doors shutter

shall be free from joints and as per the norms laid down under IS 2202 (Part 1) for timber

species adhesion and measurements.
