The Panel Core and Face veneers are placed along the grain while the glue core is placed across the grain

FUNGUS, BORER & TERMITE PROTECTION: 5 STEP TREATMENT


Fungus, borer & termite have been the perennial enemies of wood and wood based

products since ages. Plywood and Block board users are no different, and have been

at the receiving end of this menace.

At Greenply we ensure strong protection of our products from Fungus, Borer and

Termite through a 5 step treatment across the manufacturing process.

We use only organic chemicals hence the final product is eco-friendly thereby giving

us an advantage over other products present in the market.

Moisture content in excess of 25% attracts Fungus growth. Greenply ensures uniform moisture

content in veneers limited in the range of 8-10% throughout various manufacturing stages to

make the end product less prone to fungal attack.

Greenply is the only company in India to use Biflex TC (0.4%) as termiticide. Biflex TC is a

natural compound extracted from Daisy flower and is totally harmless for human beings. The

Australian manufacturers of this compound are so confident of its effectiveness as termiticide

that they offer a MILLION DOLLAR WARRANTY.

THE 5 STEPS TO FREEDOM FROM FUNGUS, BORER & TERMITE


Only selected hard wood species of veneer is used, eliminating sap portion and all

susceptible species of veneer.

Sapwood conducts fluid, but the heartwood is generally

drier and is biologically dead. Metabolic by-products

(extractives) are deposited at the sapwood/heartwood

boundary, which expands as the tree grows.

Extractives darken the heartwood and also make it

naturally durable due to their toxicity to fungi and to

some termites and borers.

At Greenply we carefully select right species of wood

with mature timber and naturally high resistance to

fungi, borer and termites.



A prophylactic spray treatment of timber with insecticides and fungicides protects the

timber from fungal attack.

The logs of selected timber are treated with special

insecticides and fungicides to prevent sapstain and

mold organisms (fungi) from discovering and infecting

the unseasoned wood.

Almost all biocides employed are dissolved or

dispersed in water and applied to unseasoned

lumber before air- or kiln-drying. The methods of

application employed are either pressure spaying or

water dip tanks.



Organic preservative chemical (Fungicide) called Sodium Penta Chloro Phenate (0.5

%)are mixed with resin at the time of resin preparation.

Sodium Penta Chloro Phenate (0.5 %) is a proven

fungicide which gives strong resistance from fungal

infections .

Since fungal infestation invites termite attack hence use

of Sodium Penta Chloro Phenate ensures indirect safety

from termite attacks as well.



In addition to Fungicide, further organic insecticides like Bifenthrin (USA based) and

Biflex TC are added with Glue mix for Glue line protection.

Biflex TC (0.4 %) and other organic insecticides provide

strong protection from termite and borer infections.

Our advanced Pre-Pressing technology ensures that

insecticides added in glue mix penetrate uniformly

throughout the layers of veneer.

At Greenply we take special care of using only

environment friendly and relatively harmless chemicals

as insecticides and fungicides to ensure that the end

product is harmless for users.



Finished plywood is treated with CCB (Copper Chrome Boron ) by hot and cold

dipping method for higher retention.

Copper Chrome Boron (CCB) is the best alternative to

CCA (Copper Chrome Arsenic) used earlier as

preservative chemical as it does not use Arsenic which

is highly harmful for humans.

CCB is absolutely safe for human beings while at the

same time it is very effective against wood borers, fungi,

decay, marine orgasms and termites and protects wood

for a long time which is highly exposed and is in ground

contact

The use of Optima Red boards in homes and office interiors leads to better health

because of their low Formaldehyde emissions, as per ISO 12460. (It also conforms to

stringent E-1 emission standards)

One of the key features of Optima Red is its hardness which makes it strong and

sturdy. It passes the Hardness Test under Static Indentation as per IS: 1708 (Part 10)-

1986.

Optima Red is also special because of negligible core gaps. This is possible

because the veneers are spliced on imported core veneer jointer machines.

Green Ready Lines Flush Doors is an assortment of selected 25 laminated doors

among the wide range meant for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

Conforming to IS 2202 (Part 1), Green Ready Lines Flush Doors reveals a wide range

of premium laminated borer-proof doors with density of 700 kg/m3.

Made by mechanised manufacturing process which offers uniform thickness

without undulation, warping or bending.

Available in both one-sided and both-sided laminated options with 1 mm HPL and

conforming to IS 2046.

Green Ready Lines Flush Doors offers dimensional accuracy and stability in varying

humidity and has a high screw holding capacity, high shock and buckling

resistance.

BWP grade adhesive treatment with Phenol Formaldehyde Resin as per IS:848

norms ensures superior quality and performance of these doors for life.

Manufactured to IS : 2202 (Part – 1) it is a Boiling water proof

product with BWP grade adhesive used for bonding as per IS:848

The frames are of Pine and of 75mm Width with all timbers

thoroughly seasoned in PLC controlled seasoning chamber.

Special provision for Lock and Latches.

5 Ply construction.

The Fillers are made out of Pine (solid wood core) or specially

treated engineered particle batons (engineered core)

The density is around 700 Kg/m3 for engineered core and 500

kg/m3 for solid core.

Preservative treated with Organic Chemicals as per IS 5539. Glue

line protected with organic chemicals.

GREEN COMPRESSED WOOD PLATE (GCWP)


Wood veneer-based, compressed and densified panels primarily recommended

for usage in shuttering in the construction of flyovers, bridges, tunnels & high-rises.

Constructed by aligning several layers of phenolic resin-coated wood-based

veneers, each placed at right angles to the other

The top and bottom veneers of the panels are coated with a double layer of water

repellent phenolic film, backed by a highly absorbent kraft sheet on either sides

increasing abrasion and water resistance. The sides are sealed with special quality

sealants to prevent water absorption.

Provides a smooth surface finish to concrete structures and does not require further

finishing or re-plastering.

The plywood boasts a balanced construction, both parallel and perpendicular to

the panel, and is thus inbuilt with equal strength in both directions

Gives more repetitions than conventional plywood, thus increasing the service life.
