CARROLLTON GREENBELT

CARROLLTON GREENBELT

SO MUCH MORE THAN A BIKE TRAIL . . .

“The benefits of the Carrollton Greenbelt are innumerable. . . Not only are we creating a corridor that connects commercial areas, residential neighborhoods and educational centers, we are helping to create a sense of place for the citizens and visitors of the City of Carrollton.” Mayor Wayne Garner

The Carrollton GreenBelt is a 16-mile trail system designed for walking, biking and other non-motorized uses. Once it is complete, the trail will connect existing neighborhoods with the City School campus, the University of West Georgia, city parks, and several commercial shopping areas.

The Carrollton GreenBelt is the largest greenspace and greenway conservation project that the City of Carrollton has undertaken. It will also be the largest paved loop trail system in the state of Georgia.

The Carrollton GreenBelt serves the community in several capacities. Primarily, it represents a recreational opportunity. Given the planned, strategic location of the trail, the community can also use the trail as an alternative to vehicular travel. The GreenBelt integrates recreation with transportation, combatting several of the negative health trends impacting Carrollton.
