The fraternal year is coming quickly to an end. I would like to thank everyone who participated with our Council this past year. We make a difference thanks to all who volunteer. The month of May brought beautiful weather and I think we all have enjoyed it. The month began with our annual garage sale on May 10th. I would like to thank Nate Brown for chairing this event and thank you to all the volunteers. Our council held a corporate communion on May 18th, thank you to the Fourth Degree Color Guard. The Parade of Homes is in full swing, contact Stan Dobek if you would like to volunteer.. At the last council meeting we held our annual election of officers. Thank you to all who volunteered to service as officers. Key dates: June 7: Volunteer at the spaghetti dinner for the Golub Family (young mom and dad with cancer) June 14: Officers Training, any officers that would like to attend please contact me. June 22: Second and Third degree at St. Mary's Queen of Apostle, Sand Lake at 1pm. Please consider taking a step to become a third degree member . Contact me if you would like more information. June 24: Clergy Appreciation Dinner -- Let’s show our support for our clergy by having many members attend. June 29: White Caps Baseball game, 1:00pm,. COUNCIL 7761 YARD SALE

God smiled on us and blessed us all with a brightand sunny day for our council’s annual yardsale. The sale took place in the parking lot at

Kateri Lodge on May 10th. Chairman Nate Brown wishes tothank all those who helped make the yard sale a success, especial-ly with setting up, organizing the items for sale, and cleaning upat the end of the sale. This years yard sale earned our council$1030! Great Job Knights!

MAJOR DEGREE

There will be a Major De-gree at Mary Queen ofApostles Church in Sand

Lake hosted by Council 8425 on SundayJune 22nd.

Registration will be begin at noon ata cost of $10 per candidate. The Ceremony for

2nd degree will begin at 1:00 PM to be followed by the 3rd de-gree ceremony shortly afterward.

A dinner will be served after the major degree at a costof $8 per person if paid in advance or $10 at the door. Advanceregistration and dinner payment is due by Saturday June 14th andshould be mailed to Council 8425 Treasurer Larry Smith. Anyquestions about this event can be addressed by District DeputyJoe Jernigan at 616-696-0005 or Email him at:[email protected].

SPAGHETTI DINNER

The Golub Fami-ly SpaghettiDinner Fund-

raiser will beheld on June 7thin the OLC Family Center forJon and Laura Golub. Laura isthe daughter of Brother KnightGerry Brom; Laura and Jon areBOTH undergoing treatment forcancer in Houston where theyhad to relocate and are current-ly living with their two smallchildren.

All the proceeds fromthis fundraiser will go straightto the Golub family for assis-tance with treatment and living expenses.

Volunteers are needed for kitchen duties, clearing tablesand clean up afterwards. The dinner will start at 5:00, and cost isa free will donation. Any brother knights who wish to help makethis benefit dinner a success will be needed by 6:00. CLERGY APPRECIATION DINNER

Holy Redeemer parish inJenison will be hostingthe Clergy Appreciation

Dinner. The purpose of the dinner is toshow appreciation support and respect forthe clergy. The clergy are a very specialkind of people, come show your support forand help promote these wonderful individuals.

The dinner will be held on June 24th. The cost is $25 perticket.

WHITE CAPS SUNDAYSunday June 29th is Fam-

ily day for the Knights of Colum-bus. Come watch the West

Michigan Whitecaps take on theBowling Green Hotrods and spend the afternoon with

family and friends! Game time is at 1:00 PM and tickets are $10per person. If you would like to attend the Whitecaps game orwould like more information on the event call Bryan Galloway at616-874-9682 or Email at [email protected].

This is always a fun event for the whole family but timeis running out to purchase tickets so do not hesitate to contactBryan about your tickets.

MITCHELL’S RUNDuring the May meeting council 7761 voted to donate

$200 to Mitchell’s Run Through Rockford. This 5K run takesplace in down town Rockford and all proceeds from this event aredonated to Parent Project MD.

Over the past 15 years, MRTR has included over 10,000participants, 1,000 volunteers, and several thousand spectators,raising over $825,000. These funds ultimately help to fight Duch-enne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The 2013 Run through Rock-ford raised $57,324.

PARADE OF HOMES

Once again theKnights are par-ticipating in the

Parade of Homes. This is an ex-cellent fundraiser for our counciland really is easy money for ourcharities and other causes. StanDobek is heading up this effortand needs volunteers for June 7th. Ifyou would like to volunteer for the Parade of Homes call Stan at884-0171.

The Home we will be showing this year is located at5621 13 Mile Rd. Actually on Sherman Forrest Rd.
