Cat Walk by Jackie Morris is one of the

most exciting products Graffeg has

worked on. Beginning life as a collection

of photographs taken by Jackie on her

walks around the Pembrokeshire coast,

the images are now available in a

calendar and notecard collection, as well

as a fabulous book Cat Walk the book.

In celebration of the 100th birthday of

Wales’ best loved wordsmith, Graffeg has

created a range of special designs using

some of his most memorable and well-

loved lines. Available as notecards, with

full poems and prose printed inside, and

as a calendar and poster.

My Sad Cat is a Twitter phenomenon with

over 150,000 fans, and thousands more

joining by the week. The melancholy kitty

is The Bear, a 19 year old poet trapped in

the body of a cat.

Wildlife is a collection of breathtaking

images from award-winning wildlife and

landscape photographer Drew Buckley.

Drew’s work can also be found in

Graffeg’s Pembrokeshire calendar and

notecards.

These delightful images by Victorian

photographer John Thomas, offer a wonderful

insight into the people of yesterday’s Wales,

with elderly women in traditional Welsh dress,

and the photographer’s daughter in her well-

heeled finery. John Thomas (1838-1905) was

born in West Wales where he worked as a

photographer, specialising in landscape images

of Wales and portraits of notable Welsh people,

particularly church and chapel ministers.

Men of Wales notecards and

prints

The Men of Wales were photographed by

Victorian photographer John Thomas. Images

included in the pack are of William Bulkelley

Hughes MP, Dr Owen Thomas and Jack Jones of

Blaenau Ffestiniog – the gentleman on the

cover who is, apparently, suffering from

toothache. John Thomas (1838-1905) was born

in West Wales where he worked as a

photographer, specialising in landscape images

of Wales and portraits of notable Welsh people,

particularly church and chapel ministers.

Hay Time. Should glorious sunshine

prevail and the promise of a settled spell

in the weather, then the task of haymaking

becomes the priority. The grass in the

meadows is mown and turned daily to be

baked by the sun until it is dry enough to

be turned into small compact hay bales.

These are then stored in the outlying stone

barns ready for the wintertime when food is

scarce.

Father’s Day


Walling & Clearing the Meadows. The

meadows are now cleared of sheep and

left to grow a crop of hay. The traditional

herb-rich wildflower meadows will provide

the winter feed for the flock. The snow

and lashing gales of winter are the cause

of many gaps in the dry stone walls and

it is now that time is spent repairing the

boundaries and making them stockproof.

Show Time. As summer draws to a close,

it is a busy time for a shepherd. Flocks are

gathered in, lambs weaned and perhaps

a select few sheep will be taken to the

local show. It is a chance to showcase your

animals, as with sale time fast approaching,

all eyes will be looking out for who has the

best sheep in the district.

Valentine’s Day


Deepest Winter. The bleakness and

desolation is felt most keenly during this

harshest and most severe of months. Snow,

ice and blizzards mean that the ewes are

entirely reliant upon the shepherd providing

their sustenance. The difficult terrain may

involve hay bales having to be carried on

foot to the furthest outlying flocks. The

unborn lambs are beginning to require more

nutrition, so it is vital to keep the ewes in

peak condition and hay will be supplemented

with high protein pellets.
