A person who is a non-Japanese citizen residing outside of Japan. A person who graduated from a university or college. A person who is expected to receive a Bachelor’s Degree by September 30th, 2016.

3．Points to be checked before application Applicants will have an interview with their prospective academic advisor on research contents, teaching methods and life in

Japan before application by July 1st, 2016. Please note: applicants may apply for scholarships or fee waivers. However, if they can’t receive any, they will be responsible

for all of the costs to live in Japan.

(3) Decision to allow or refuse the application

As soon as the interviews with applicants’ academic advisors are finished, applicants will be notified whether they are allowed to apply or not via e-mail.

Those allowed shall receive a letter of recognition for application by July 29th, 2016. Please keep the document until the entrance examination. They will also receive an application form and a transfer request form for entrance examination (prescribed forms) and complete the necessary procedure in accordance with the time and period.

Examination Fee

30,000JPY Applicants will receive the prescribed payment form by mail. Fill out your name and address on the prescribed payment form and pay the examination fee at a bank in Japan by the payment date. Please note that ATMs cannot be used for transferring the fee at any bank. The bank transfer fee will be charged.

(4) Others

① The certificates to be submitted must be the originals or certified photocopies. Uncertified copies will not be recognized as official certificates. Applicants are required to submit original certifications. However, e-mail submission is accepted as long as the documents are replaced by official ones later.

② Documents may not be altered or amended after submission. ③ Application documents and the examination fee are non-refundable for any reason. ④ Personal information (name, date of birth, gender, etc.) recorded on application forms will be used for the selection

of entrants, notification of passing entrance exams, and also entrance procedures. Once successful applicants have entered the university, the university will manage the data for use in matters relating to student support (scholarship applications, tuition fee exemption applications etc.). This data will not be used for any other purpose or be seen by anyone except staff of this university. However, following the agreement on the appropriate use of personal information, there may be cases where data processing is entrusted to companies outside the university.

⑤ Any forgery or falsification of the documents and/or academic fraud will result in cancellation of acceptance even

5．Expected software to be used for internet interview and expected date ,time and location Date: August 9th – August 19st, 2016 (weekday) Time: UTC 00:00－09:00（JST 09:00－18:00）Applicants shall choose several hours (one hour) within the period of time.

Interview（in English） ※ conducted by several Professors Interviews about expected educational subjects and research abilities will be conducted through Skype or other software.

7．Evaluation Criteria

Students shall be selected by interviews based on their expected research theme. The admission committee shall evaluate students into 4 grades (A, B, C, and D). Students evaluated as D, will fail the examination.

8．Notification of Admission

September 2nd, 2016(TBA) A written notice will be sent to all successful applicants by mail.

The results will also be announced to all applicants by e-mail.

9．Notes (1) Documents may neither be altered nor amended after submission (2) Application materials and the examination fee will not be returned. Philosophy of Graduate School of Biomedical & Health Sciences

In accordance with our Guiding Principles of Hiroshima University (The Pursuit of Peace, The Creation of New Forms of Knowledge, The Nurturing of Well-Rounded Human Beings, Collaboration with the Local, Regional, and International Community, and Continuous Self-Development), our philosophy is to contribute to development of medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical and health sciences, as well as to improvements in human health and welfare in the world, by promoting basic research in medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical and health sciences and mastering the depths of these studies. Such initiatives should also promote research to integrate these studies, interdisciplinary and leading-edge research to pioneer new fields of studies, while developing educators and researchers with rich and broad knowledge and high research skills, as well as advanced medical professionals.

Human Resource Development in Oral Health Sciences Major (the Master’s Course) (1) Development of advanced medical professionals in oral health science (Clinical Course)

We develop Oral Health Managers as advanced medical professionals in advanced professional practice support, to contribute to oral care offered at hospitals and clinics. We also support home medical care, nursing, and feeding/dysphagia rehabilitation to promote health and contribute to the community in a way suitable for the aging society combined with the diminishing number of children, while developing leaders in oral health care who will work in the public sector.

Additionally, we develop Oral Engineers as advanced medical professionals in oral engineering: dental technicians specialized in stomatognathic care capable of morphologic and functional repair of oral cavity and maxillofacial area, as well as non-metal repair using CAD/CAM, as well as people who participate in a team with other medical professionals in advanced dental care and disseminate testing and diagnostic methods to support treatment and patients’ return to the society.

(2) Development of educators/researchers who help establish and disseminate the fields of oral health sciences and oral engineering (Research Course) With the purpose of maintaining and promoting health of people, we develop educators and researchers in oral

health sciences, designed to maintain and promote systemic health from oral care. As educators and researchers in oral health sciences, they will be engaged in food and nutrition education research,

clarification of correlation between oral functions and systemic health, and education and research for disease and nursing prevention based on new health insights.

Educators and researchers in oral engineering will develop tailor-made treatment by leveraging IT and genetic engineering, devices featuring highly sensitive sensors for analyzing oral functions, procedures to regenerate maxillofacial tissues through programming and biotechnology, as well as biomaterials.

（10） Payment of the Application Fee

Make a payment following the payment method you've selected in the procedure " (7) Enter Payment

Information". As for the detailed method of payment, please consult the “payment method (支払方法)” page

provided after completion of the application registration.

The application fee once remitted will not be refunded.

In addition to the application fee, you need to pay 500 yen as the processing fee.

The amount of processing fee is the same regardless of the way of payment (Credit Card / Convenience

Store / Banking facilities' ATM [Pay-easy] / Online Banking).

For applications from outside of Japan, only credit card payments can be accepted.

You can make a payment using any credit cards with logo marks shown

In addition, Rakuten Bank, The Japan Net Bank, Jibun Bank, and SBI Sumishin Net Bank are also

usable. In this case, you have to open an account at the financial institution in advance.

2 Press the button “Proceed with the payment by online banking”.

3 Select the financial institution you've made a contract with for online banking. Conduct the
