Guidance programme on Campus Interview Date:18-12-2019 Time : 12pm

A programme to guide final BSc students on How to face campus interview has

been organised by placement cell of the college. Placement officer Vishvanath

Bhat sir from Shree Guru Sudhindra College Bhatkal in his lecture has given

information on online registration procedure, steps in campus drive, aptitude

test, essay writing & facing interview. Vikhyat Prabhu sir has given

information about WIPRO campus drive in January 2020 at their college. The

last date to apply is 19th December 2019. Registration through online

www.sgstapas.co.in. At the end they clarified students doubts

2019. The same has been announced in the prayer assembly also.

WIPRO Campus drive Jan-2020 has been

organised by SGS College Bhatkal on 12-

01-2020 in which 8 final BSc students

participated & 4 selected for second round.

On 18th Jan all four attended second round.

Effort of the students is appreciated by

Entrepreneurship Guidance programme Date:14-01-2020 Venue:Seminar hall Time : 11am

Placement cell of the college in collaboration with „District Industrial Centre

Karwar‟ and with the cooperation of Commerce & Economics departments of the

college has organised entrepreneurship guidance programme on 14th Jan 2020 at

seminar hall of the college for Final BCom and MA Economics students.Joint

Director DIC Karwar Shri. Dhanjay Hegde gave lecture on “Empowerment

through entrepreneurship”. He told about 6/15 days EDP (Entrepreneurship

Development Programme) from DIC & asked students to make use of it. He also

guided students about different entrepreneur opportunities. Then he answered the

quarries of the students with example. Assistant Director DIC Ankola

Shri.Nagaraj Nayak gave information about Government schemes that help to

become entrepreneur with the help of PPT. He explained about the available

financial help from the Government & how to apply for the same.

One Day Workshop on Personality Development and Career Guidance and Career Exhibition

Date:22-01-2020 Venue: Seminar hall Time : 10am

Placement cell of the college in collaboration with Karnataka University

Employment Information and Guidance Bureau , organised one day workshop

for final year BA, Bcom, BSc& BBA students.

Dr.V.Shyamkumar ,Chief UEIGB KUD inaugurated the workshop and gave brief

information about the UEIGB. Resource person Dr. Aravind A. Mulimani gave

lecture on „Communication Skills‟.Resource person Smt.Sadhana Pote gave

lecture on „An insight to competitive exams‟ and „How to face interviews?‟.In

interaction session both the resource persons clarified students doubts.

One Day Workshop on

Seminar on “Career Opportunities in Private Sector Banking Date:03-02-2020 Venue: Bcom class room, BSc classroom, Seminar Hall. Time :11am, 12pm,1pm

Placement cell of the college has organised a seminar on „Career

opportunities in private banking sector‟ on 03-02-2020 for all final year

students. Three resource persons from NIIT Bejai, Mangalore gave

information on the subject. Smt. Pavitra addressed final Bcom students at

11am in their class room. At 12pm resource person Clarita & Raksha

addressed final BSc students on the topic in their class room. At 1pm Smt.

Pavitra addressed final BA students at seminar hall of the college on the

above subject with the help of the PPT. They have given information

about how to get prepared for the different career opportunities in private

sector banking, working pattern in private banks, how to apply for jobs in

private banks and qualities one should posses. Presidential remarks by

Seminar on “Career Opportunities

in Private Sector Banking

Workshop for FDA/SDA/Competitive exams Date:22-02-2020 Time : 12pm

Placement cell of the college in collaboration with Akshara

Coaching Center ,Ankola has organised a guidance programme for final

and 2nd year BA students about preparation for competitive exams. Shri

M.B. Shirshyad on behalf of Akshara coaching center gave lecture on

how to prepare for these exams , he took example of kannada paper which

is one of the choice in SDA/FDA exams. He explain in detail about marks

distribution for each type of questions in kannada, how to make

mnemonics to remember kannada literature in easy manner. Shri Nandish

from revenue department Mysuru explained about how to apply for

competitive exams, what are the criteria, eligibility & documents needed.

After their talk both answered the questions of students. Presidential

Campus drive for ICICI has been organised by

placement cell of the college in collaboration with NIIT

Bejai Mangaluru on 04-03-2020 at 1pm at seminar hall.

Welcome and introductory speech by Smt. Vijaya U

Patil , coordinator Placement cell and Assistant

Professor of Home Science, GFGC Ankola. The process

started with the essay writing, then verification of the

documents followed by oral interview. 12 final year

students participated and 7 were selected for final round.

Final round was fixed on 26th march 2020, but due to

lockdown the process ahs been withheld.
