GOOLMA COMMUNITY VOICE SWIMMING EXCELLENCE Team Goolma excelled at the Mudgee Small Schools Network swimming carnival held last Tuesday. Some results: Runner-up Juvenile Girl Champion Stevie Honeysett Junior Girl Champion Chloe Harfield and bags of ribbons for everyone else. More precise results will be published later. Cody Honeysett swam like a champion and won his 50m freestyle. EVERY child swam in a full range of events and for the first time in ages Goolma had a relay team. EVERY family was present on the day enjoying watching their children perform well. This week we are conducting planning meetings for each child and family. This will ensure we are designing programs of learning best suited to each child to enable them to achieve their best learning. Next Monday a Cultural Heritage Officer will visit the school to further develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of Goolma’s past. Our scheduled parents’ meeting has been brought forward to Monday 22 nd at 2:30pm to enable everyone to attend. Part of school planning relies on parents’ contributions so these meetings are critical. Everyone has a chance to have a say. Congratulations to past student Tom McCabe who called in to let me know he is off to University of Sydney pursue a Bachelor Degree Engineering -honours. Tom will love playing with really big lego! Have a wonderful time Tom and be sure to spend some time studying.
