Rates Payment Notice

Golden Plains Shire Council is working towards the preparation of a new Structure Plan for Teesdale and wishes to understand community preferences that may affect its content.

The Structure Plan preparation process will seek to:

• Review the existing 1997 Teesdale Structure Plan.• Guide the long term development of Teesdale. • Review commercial development opportunities. • Review the need for new community and development infrastructure, where not already considered in

existing Council Strategies. The Structure Plan is expected to be finalised in early 2020. For more on the project and a background report for the Teesdale Structure Plan, visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/residents/my-home/planning/strategic-planning

A physical copy of the background report is available for review at the Bannockburn Library, 25/27 High Street, or at Council’s Customer Service Centre, 2 Pope St, Bannockburn.

Council wants to hear from the Teesdale community in order to assist in the development of a new Structure Plan. All residents are invited to have their say:

• Attend a Conversation Post: 3.15 to 5.30pm, Thursday 12 September, at Teesdale Primary School, Main Road. Councillors will attend.

• 9am to 12pm, Saturday 14 September, at Turtle Bend Park, Shelford-Bannockburn Road• Complete the Structure Plan Survey: Online at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations or pick up a physical

copy at 2 Pope St, Bannockburn. Survey closes Sunday 20 October, 2019.

Have Your Say on Play

Golden Plains Shire Council has developed its Draft Play Space Strategy 2019-2029 and is seeking community feedback to ensure a strong strategic plan that strengthens and supports active play in Golden Plains.

At its Ordinary Meeting on 27 August, Council endorsed the Draft Play Space Strategy to be put on exhibition for public comment from 28 August to 25 September. All feedback will be considered and the final Play Space Strategy will presented to Council for adoption.

The Draft Play Space Strategy 2019-2029 will inform Council’s policy and planning frameworks and the development and delivery of outdoor play infrastructure and services. The plan defines Council’s vision and objectives for the Shire’s 47 play space including associated skate and BMX facilities; and supports the provision of play spaces that meet the needs and expectations of our community. The development of the Draft Strategy was funded by Council and a grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria.

Councillor conversation posts are an informal opportunity for community members to speak directly with Councillors and senior Council staff, with these posts adding to those earlier this year at Bannockburn, Rokewood and Inverleigh. Since 2016, Councillors have engaged with more than 1,300 community members at conversation posts.

All Golden Plains Shire ratepayers have received their rates notice for 2019/2020.

To join the rates instalment plan, the first instalment payment is due by Monday 30 September 2019. The remaining instalment payments are due on 30 November 2019, 28 February 2020 and 31 May 2020. Alternatively, full payment is due on 15 February 2020.
