Tips For Effectively Utilizing LinkedIn:
Do not attempt to connect with a LinkedIn user that you share absolutely no connection with. Do make contact with people your current connections know via the Introductions tool.
Create an informative profile headline.
Be sure that your Summary Statement is upbeat, informative, clear, and concise.
Be sure that your Specialties section includes keywords.
Show off your high GPA and any honors or awards.
Set your LinkedIn profile to “public” and create a unique URL, for example: www.linkedin.com/in/yourname.
Maintain current recommendations.
Post a video of yourself speaking or presenting. Add work samples to your LinkedIn profile. Upload your résumé.
Update/ “spiff up” your profile every six to nine months.
If you can provide valid, useful feedback, reply to other user’s questions via the Answers page in the More section.
Update your status at least once a week, but be sure to only post professional, relevant updates.
Join LinkedIn groups and display your connections with LinkedIn Group badges.

IV. Online Networking Etiquette:“Netiquette”
Why is proper netiquette so critical?
“Job Seekers should always remember that during face to face interaction with Recruiters, body language,
eye contact and non-verbal communication reinforces good manners. However, when networking online, and applying to online job adverts, these factors are absent and success is solely reliant on the way in which you conduct yourself online.” (“Top Etiquette Tips for Online Job Seekers”).
