AP Region Nano & Society Assessment Strong government policy support in most economies

Strong awareness of the need of education and trainingcourses are operating in most economies

Education Program in AP region is mostly bottom up,

whereas Top Down Programs in Korea and Taiwan. Strong awareness and expectation of the benefits of

Nanotech in field of energy, healthcare, environment,

agriculture and etc. Some economies such as Japan and Korea have seen the

    emerging industrial impact of nanotech

The awareness of Risk in Nanotech is relatively weakcompared that in EU and USA (except Taiwan)

Standardization of Nanotech application in some areas is

    emerging (Taiwan, Japan, China).

    Summary

All the 13 economies of the ANF network have initiatedNanotech Initiative, some are very well planned andestablished, some are making active progress incoordinated and detailed plan.

Under the umbrella of the ANF network JointWorkshops and Meetings were held for the past oneyear among the 13 economies, promoting mutualunderstanding, research collaboration and HRexchange.

All economies address the importance of innovative HRdevelopment in Nanotech and have set up programs forimplementation.

ANF Network Economies Are Keen on InternationalCollaboration.
