On board the Eurostar you will have

a reserved, semi-reclining aircraft-

style seat. You’ll also find a buffet car

serving hot & cold beverages and

snacks. Sterling, Euros and cards

accepted. You can eat and drink in

the bar area (standing space only) or

take your purchases back to your

seat. You can also take your own

food and drink on board.

European trains are modern and

comfortable with a range of facilities

depending on route and

destinations.

TRAVEL & LUGGAGEThere are no actual luggage weightrestrictions imposed by the railcompanies. However, for yourcomfort and convenience werecommend you limit your luggageto the following: ONE mainsuitcase/holdall with built in WHEELSweighing no more than 15 to 20kgsper person - Plus ONE small shoulderbag/holdall per person. Restrictingthe bulk of your luggage tomanageable sizes will make thejourney more enjoyable.

You will need to move all your ownbags on and off trains and betweenplatforms and transfer vehicles. Ourtour manager will be unable toprovide physical assistance withluggage.

On TGV trains, you may be allocatedseats on the the upper floor, whichmeans you would have to carry yourbags upstairs.

Many train stations and platforms arebig and long, sometimes with stairsor escalators. Some stations have lifts,but using them can involve a longerwalk, so be prepared for this whenwalking with your luggage.

A visit to Holland in springtime is amesmerising feast for the senses as thegardens and fields are full to burstingwith tulips, daffodils and hyacinths allcomplemented with spring floweringshrubs and plants. The surroundingcountry offers many an opportunity tovisit some of the more unusual sights,including working windmills that giveyou a picture of what life must havebeen like 100 years ago. Visits will alsobe made to Volendam, as well as Hoorn– a buzzing historic city in a uniquewaterside location.

Amsterdam continues to enthral visitorswith its maze of canals and waterways.Some of the canal-side houses showhow rich merchants once lived inopulent properties. The city has thehighest museum density in the worldand is home to cultural highlights, suchas the Van Gogh Museum, Anne FrankHouse, Hermitage Amsterdam and theRijksmuseum with Rembrandt’s world-famous Nightwatch.

Itinerary:

Day1: UK to Amsterdam

Depart London St Pancras (Ebbsfleet onrequest) in the morning by Eurostar toBrussels. Here we change platforms andboard the Thalys train to Amsterdam.On arrival we transfer to our ship, theMV Prinses Christina, with time to settlein before dinner.

Alternatively, travel to and fromAmsterdam by air from regional UKairports – see flight information andoptions.

Day 2: Amsterdam & Volendam

After breakfast you will be able toexplore the locality or take the optionalcanal cruise.

We return to the ship for lunch and sailto Volendam. Unadulterated Dutchculture is Volendam's most celebratedclaim to fame. Since the late 1800s,tourists have been romanced by thisfishermen's town on the Zuiderzee thatseems to be frozen in time. With itspreserved folk culture, Volendamcontinues to be a feast for the senses,from its picturesque houses andwaterfront to its residents who dress upin their traditional costume, whichincludes the iconic women's accessoryof a pointed white bonnet, for specialoccasions - a practice which some oldertownspeople continue on a daily basis.

Day 3: Hoorn

Early morning we depart Volendam forthe short cruise to Hoorn in the north ofHolland, a buzzing historic city with itsunique waterside location. Hoorn’satmospheric, diverse shopping centreattracts thousands of visitors each year.It’s a great place for special shopping.Small, intimate boutiques, stylish homeand interior shops, unusual gift shops,

markets, unique art and plenty of lovelyshops selling antiques and curiosities.

Day 4: Keukenhof & Amsterdam

After breakfast we join the coach for theincluded excursion to Keukenhofdeparting from Hoorn and returning toAmsterdam. Lunch is not included onthis excursion. These world famousgardens are where more than 7 milliontulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over32 hectares with colour and fragrance.You can even sail around Keukenhofthrough the bulbfields in so-called‘whisper boats’ (not included). Theseboats are powered by electric engines,are environmentally friendly and arealmost silent as they sail through thebeautiful Dutch landscape. For thosewho do not wish to join the excursion toKeukenhof you may remain on boardand relax on the cruise to Amsterdam.

We rejoin the ship in Amsterdam for ourlast dinner on board.

Day 5: Amsterdam to UK

After breakfast we disembark the shipand transfer to Amsterdam Centralstation where we take a morningdeparture to Brussels Midi. Here weconnect with Eurostar to London(Ebbsfleet on request) where we expectto arrive late afternoon. Alternatively,transfer to the airport for a return flightto the UK - see flight information andoptions.

Cochem, known asthe ‘Pearl of the Moselle’, is a sight not tobe missed. Its narrow streets and alleysand the lovingly restored half-timberedhouses, historic market place andmedieval town gates are all well preservedand well worth seeing.Day 4: BoppardDepart Cochem during breakfast andcruise to Boppard. Sit back and enjoy theviews as you pass some superb scenicbeauty. There is so much to see includingcastles and stately homes, churches andmonasteries, gardens and parks. Thetown’s treasures include romantic squaresand small lanes in the old town as well asthe Rhine Allee, filled with trees andflowers. Day 5: RüdesheimDepart Boppard and cruise through theRhine Gorge to Rüdesheim, passing hill-top castles, picturesque towns, vine-cladslopes and the famous Lorelei Rock. Koblenz Cable car &Ehrenbrietstein Fortress - the cable cartakes you high over the Rhine to theEhrenbrietstein Fortress mountain station.The ride over the Rhine surely is amongthe greatest attractions in the area. Enjoyspectacular views and discover thewonderfully designed landscape gardenon the fortress plateau. Our secondoptional tour will include a visit to the cityby night with a tasting of the local wines.Day 7: Konigswinter & CologneDuring breakfast we cruise toKonigswinter where we stop for a shortvisit. Situated at the foot of theDrachenfels Mountain, it is set betweenthe Rhine Valley and Siebengebirge -“Seven Hills”. Known as theDreiflüssestadt (City of Three Rivers), Passauis the confluence of the Danube, the Inn andthe Ilz rivers. The town has a medievalcentre complete with the Cathedral of StStephan, home to Europe’s largest pipeorgan. Serenity embarkation willcommence mid-afternoon.Day 3: Melk - Vienna This morning we arrive in the small town ofMelk which lies in the beautiful WachauValley. Here you can join our optionalexcursion visiting the Benedictine Abbey.This is one of the most famous monastichouses in Austria which has been occupiedby monks for over 900 years. You can relaxon board for the remainder of the day as wecruise to Vienna for an overnight stop.Day 4: Vienna We spend a full day experiencing thedelights of Vienna. Grand palaces, baroquecastles, magnificent squares and grand

monuments are just some of the keyfeatures of this beautiful city, which is aUNESCO World Heritage Site. In themorning you can join our optional City Tourand in the afternoon we have an optionalexcursion to Schönbrunn Palace, whichtakes you on a journey through time as weexplore some of the 1441 rooms. In the earlyevening we cast off and cruise towardsBudapest.Day 5: Budapest Today we have a full day in Budapest, one ofthe most beautiful cities in the world. Hereyou can explore both sides of Hungary’scapital – traditional ‘Buda’ and the morecosmopolitan ‘Pest’. Start the day by joiningour optional city tour to introduce you tothe highlights and help get your bearings inthe city known as the Pearl of the Danube.In the evening you can join our optionalexcursion to experience Budapest by Nightwith a traditional folklore show.Day 6: Budapest This morning you can enjoy your time inBudapest or join our optional excursionwhich takes you through the sweepingplains of Hungary to Lajosmizse. Here wevisit a traditional stud farm and enjoy a tourof the grounds in a horse drawn carriage,before watching a spectacular live PusztaHorse Show. In the afternoon we set sail andcruise towards Bratislava.Day 7: Bratislava We reach Bratislava in the early morning.This historic city is dominated by its castleand unique suspension bridge. Join ouroptional walking tour to take in the sights ofthis Slovakian capital City Tour andexperience its rich culture. In the mid-afternoon we set sail and cruise towardsDürnstein.

Day 8: Dürnstein The town of Dürnstein is crowned by theruins of the castle that once imprisonedRichard the Lionheart. Join our optionalwalking tour which takes you around thecobbled streets to admire the prettycourtyards and buildings, before stoppingat one of the Wachau Valley’s renownedwine cellars to enjoy some wine tasting.From here you have a lovely view of thecastle ruins. Then a train takes you to a winetasting, where you will taste three typical,delicious wines of the Wachau region. In theafternoon the ship will continue for anovernight cruise to Passau. Day 9: Disembarkation PassauAfter breakfast it is time to disembark inPassau and transfer to Munich Airportarriving mid to late morning.

Known as theDreiflüssestadt (City of Three Rivers), theDanube is joined there by the Inn and theIlz rivers. The town has a medieval centrecomplete with the Cathedral of St.Stephan, home to Europe’s largest pipeorgan. Serenity embarkation willcommence mid-afternoon. Late afternoonwe set sail for Vienna, cruising through thebeautiful Wachau Valley.

Day 3: Vienna, AustriaFirst destination of this cruise is Vienna,capital of Austria. Around noon the shipwill arrive in Vienna and you can explorethis beautiful city. You could join theoptional city tour by bus to the mostimportant places of interest, including theOpera, the Rathaus, the Old Town and St.Stephen’s Cathedral. Early evening we sailto Hungary.

Day 4: Kalocsa, Hungary Mid afternoon the ship docks near thesmall village of Kalocsa. On our optionalexcursion, discover typical Hungarianfolklore, colourful murals and beautifulembroidery. Women in traditional clothingoften demonstrate how the famous floraldesigns are painted freehand. Anotherspecial place in Kalocsa is the bell peppermuseum. Also visit the cathedral, which isconsidered one of the most beautifulbaroque churches in Hungary.

Day 5: Belgrade, SerbiaOur next stop is in Serbia where the shipmoors in Belgrade, a special city withbeautiful sights. There are many museums,including the National Museum of Serbiaand the impressive Military Museum. Thefamous hippie-quarter Skadarlija - knownas Belgrade Montmartre - is also worth avisit. You will find here many cosy bars andrestaurants, lots of antiques, art galleriesand souvenir shops.

Day 6: Iron Gate Gorge, SerbiaToday we sail from Serbia to Bulgariathrough the so-called Iron Gate. This gorgeof the Danube is more than 130 km longand is the borderline between theCarpathians and the foothills of the BalkanMountains. From the ship you will have agood view of this spectacular piece ofnature with its high cliffs!Day 7: Ruse, BulgariaAfter breakfast the ship docks in Ruse, thefifth largest city in Bulgaria. From here youcan make an optional excursion to Ivanovoand the Basaravo Monastery. Here you willfind a group of rock-hewn Orthodoxchurches, chapels and monasteries, whichare UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We willvisit one of the rock monasteries and theFriendship Bridge linking Bulgaria andRomania before being brought back to theship in time to relax before dinner. Afterdinner, the ship will set sail to Cernavoda.Day 8: Cernavoda, RomaniaIn the early morning the ship arrives in theRomanian city Cernavoda. From here wetake a tour (included) to the Black Sea, theeasternmost point of this trip. We visitConstanta, the main port city of Romania.Here we will have a city tour includingphoto-stops at the Ovidius Square, theGreat Mahmudiye Mosque, the St. Peter &Paul Orthodox Cathedral, the Casino andthe Genoese lighthouse. You can also visitthe famous Roman mosaic. Then we willcontinue by bus to Mamaia, the mostfamous seaside resort in Romania. Hereyou will have a delicious lunch and enjoysome time at leisure, perhaps take a swimin the Black Sea.Day 9: Giurgiu – Turnu Magurele,RomaniaWe arrive in Giurgiu, Romania, early thismorning. From here you can join ouroptional excursion to the Romaniancapital of Bucharest, where there’s plentyof time to explore the wide tree-linedboulevards and admire many landmarksincluding Parliament Palace, the secondlargest building in the world after the USPentagon, the Arch of Triumph and thebeautiful Romanian Atheneum. We returnto our ship in the city of Turnu Magaureleand cruise towards the Iron Gate Gorge.Day 10: Iron Gate Gorge, SerbiaToday we will sail through the Iron GateGorge and you can enjoy the many scenicviews from the sundeck or relax in thelounge.Day 11: Novi Sad, SerbiaDuring the afternoon the ship arrives inthe Serbian university city of Novi Sad. Thepedestrianised centre has many shops,bars and restaurants. The centrepiece ofthe city is the Freedom Square where thetown hall and the Roman Catholiccathedral are located. The Petrovaradinfortress is the most popular attraction ofNovi Sad. It was the scene in 1716 wherethe Turks were defeated by Austria andVenice. From the fort you have amagnificent view over the city and theriver.

Day 12: Mohacs, Hungary Back in Hungary, the ship will anchor inMohacs. In the afternoon, there is theoption to go on an excursion to Pécs,located in southwest Hungary on theslopes of the Mecsek Mountains. Pécs is aUNESCO World Heritage site and has aunique southern European flair. Duringthe optional city tour you will get goodviews of the city and see the cathedraland the Turkish mosque.

Day 13: Budapest, HungaryThe Danube divides the Hungarian capitalinto two parts: the traditional "Buda" andthe cosmopolitan "Pest". In the morningthere is an optional sightseeing tour with aguide. You can see the long boulevards,the Opera House, Heroes Square andFisherman's Bastion. And of course youwill also see the Parliament building andthe Chain Bridge. You can also choose toexplore the city on your own, visit thethermal baths or go shopping.

Day 14: Bratislava, SlovakiaDuring the afternoon the ship arrives inBratislava, the capital of Slovakia. You canjoin an optional guided walk through thiscity of 450,000 inhabitants. You will see theNational Theatre, St. Martin’s Cathedral,Michael’s Gate and the Old Town Hall.

Day 15: Melk, AustriaThe last stop on our cruise is Melk, a smalltown best known as the site of a massivebaroque Benedictine monasteryimpressively located atop a rocky outcropoverlooking the river below. From here theviews over the river are stunning!

We stop at the quaint wine townof Rüdesheim where you can enjoy manyhighlights including the famousDrosselgasse, a narrow cobblestone streetwith beautifully decorated wine tavernsand courtyards.Day 4: Rüdesheim – FrankfurtAfter breakfast we arrive in Frankfurt onthe River Main. This cosmopolitan city hasone of the most imposing skylines ofGermany, which you can admire fromvarious pedestrian bridges that cross theriver. Römerberg, the central square,attracts many visitors with its stunningbuildings and famous fountain. The maincathedral and church are also must-sees,as is the chance to enjoy a glass of thefamous apple wine. Later today you canrelax on board as we set sail along theMain towards Wertheim.Day 5: WertheimThe town of Wertheim is well known for itswine, castle and medieval centre. We arrivehere shortly after midday where you canstep ashore to explore the narrow streetslined with half timbered houses.Highlights include the historic marketsquare, Angels’ Well, Spitzer Tower, KilianChapel, and the baroque garden cottageof Kittsteintor where you can enjoyfabulous views. In the early evening we setsail and cruise overnight to Würzburg.

Day 6: WürzburgThis morning you can explore the city ofWürzburg, which served as the home ofpowerful prince bishops for centuries. It isa wonderful place to visit, renowned forthe Residence Palace – one of the finestpieces of Baroque art in the world, its 8thcentury church and the FortressMarienberg which overlooks the wholetown and surrounding hills. In the earlyafternoon we set sail towards Bamberg.

Day 7: BambergWe arrive in Bamberg around midday,located at the start of the Main-DanubeCanal. Built on seven hills, it boasts themost intact medieval centre in Germanywith the Old Town listed as a WorldHeritage Site. There are many viewpointsto enjoy and main sites include thecathedral, Altenburg Castle, the Old TownHall, the Old Court and a formerBenedictine Monastery. After our visit wecruise along the Main-Danube Canaltoward Nuremberg.

Day 8: Nürnberg (Nuremberg)Nürnberg is Bavaria’s second largest cityafter Munich. The majority of the city wallsstill stand and inside you can enjoy awonderful atmosphere which combinesmedieval and modern life in an area filledwith Gothic churches, aristocratic houses,fountains, memorials and romanticcorners, all dominated by the Kaiser Castle.In the afternoon we set sail forRegensburg.

Day 9: RegensburgWe arrive in Regensburg around breakfasttime, which lies at the northern-mostpoint of the Danube. It is one of Germany’soldest towns which features manylandmarks and an excellently preservedmedieval centre, with the Cathedral of StPeter, Stone Bridge and the Bridge Towerbeing the highlights. Enjoy a full dayexploring before we cruise towards Passaulater this evening.

Day 10: PassauPassau is known as ‘The Three Rivers City’due to its unique location where theDanube, Inn and Ilz Rivers meet. The OldTown is a stunning display of Italianbaroque style architecture. This is wheremost of the sights are found, including theCathedral of St Steven, home to theworld’s largest cathedral organ. Highabove the town is the Veste OberhausCastle in the north and the PilgrimageChurch in the south. In the evening we setsail towards Melk.

Day 11: Melk & Wachau Valley – ViennaOur cruise takes us over the border intoAustria to reach the city of Melk. Thisquaint town is overlooked by one of thebest known and most splendid monastichouses in Austria – the Benedictine Abbey.

The town square is filled with cobbledstreets and attractive buildings, andnearby there is the notable SchallaburgCastle. Around midday we set sail along asection of the river known as the WachauValley which stretches 24 miles throughstunning scenery, with many charmingtowns, terraced vineyards, castles andmonasteries. We reach Vienna in theevening where we berth overnight.

Day 12: ViennaSpend a full day experiencing the delightsof Vienna, capital of Austria and birthplaceof classical music. More than 150 grandpalaces, over 27 baroque castles,impressive squares and strikingmonuments are just some of the keyfeatures of this magnificent city, whosehistoric centre is inscribed on the UNESCOWorld Heritage List. In the morning youcan join our optional city tour with theremainder of the day spent at leisure. Latertoday we set sail and cruise over theborder into Slovakia, stopping at Bratislavaaround midnight

Day 13: Bratislava - BudapestAfter breakfast you have the morning freeto take in the sights and experience therich culture of this Slovakian capital. Theold town is centred on two squares, withwinding streets, a hilltop castle and manyremarkable buildings spanning variousperiods. There is also the uniquesuspension bridge which crosses theDanube and has a restaurant at the top ofits single pylon. Around midday we set sailtowards Budapest.

Day 14: BudapestRelax on board or explore Budapest on ouroptional excursion.

1. YOUR HOLIDAY CONTRACT: When you make a booking youguarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept onbehalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. A contractwill exist as soon as we issue our confirmation invoice. This contract ismade on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed byEnglish Law, and the jurisdiction of the English Courts. If you had notseen these terms and conditions when you made your booking and youare not happy to proceed with the booking now that you have seenthem please return all documentation to us, within 7 days of the date oforiginal invoice. Your booking will be cancelled and your monies will bereturned in full, provided you have not commenced your travel. Thisclause does not apply if your booking was made after the usual finalbalance due date – 8 weeks or more depending on the holiday booked.2. YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION: The Package Travel, PackageHolidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to providesecurity for the monies that you pay for the package holidays bookedwith us and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We havea bond lodged with ABTA, which provides you with financial security forour coach, rail and self-drive holidays. Your Financial Protection When you buy an ATOL protected flight orflight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. Thislists what is financially protected, where you can get information onwhat this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide youwith the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative).In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so forreasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you withthe services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost toyou). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternativeATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay anymoney outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to thatalternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases itwill not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which caseyou will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or yourcredit card issuer where applicable).If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable toprovide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through analternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, theTrustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer abenefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return forsuch a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees anyclaims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent(or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that anysuch claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body haspaid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.3. ABTA:We are a Member of ABTA, membership number Y0291. We areobliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code ofConduct. We can also offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolutionof disputes arising out of, or in connection with this contract. Furtherinformation on the Code and arbitration can be found on ABTA’s websitewww.abta.com. The arbitration scheme is arranged by ABTA andadministered independently by IDRS, part of the Chartered Institute ofArbitrators. It provides for a simple and inexpensive method ofarbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you in respectof costs. Full details will be provided on request or can be obtained fromthe ABTA website. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amountgreater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 perbooking form. Neither does it apply to claims, which are solely in respectof physical injury or illness or their consequences. The scheme canhowever deal with compensation claims which include an element ofminor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount thearbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. Theapplication for arbitration and Statement of Claim must be received byIDRS within nine months of the date of return from the holiday. Outsidethis time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if thecompany agrees, but the ABTA Code does not require such agreement.For injury and illness claims, you may like to use the ABTA/CharteredInstitute of Arbitrators Mediation Procedure. This is a voluntary schemeand requires us to agree for mediation to go ahead. The aim is to helpyou resolve your dispute in a quick and cost effective way. Details onrequest or from www.abta.com.4. YOUR HOLIDAY PRICE:(a) We reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the holidays shown in

our brochure. You will be advised of the current price of the holidaythat you wish to book before your contract is confirmed.

(b) When you book you must pay the deposit amount stated in thebrochure or as advised. The remainder/balance of the holiday costmust be paid at least 8 weeks before commencement of the holidayOR sooner for some cruise/premium holidays as stated in thisbrochure.

(c) The price of your travel arrangements may include an element paid inEuros. Unless otherwise stated in the tour details, the rate ofexchange applicable to the holiday(s) in this brochure was based on1.1 Euro to 1GBP.

(d) Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, taxes orfees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation ordisembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates meanthat the price of your travel arrangements may change after youhave booked. However there will be no change within 30 days ofyour departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for anyincrease equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements,which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges.You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus anadministration charge of £1.00 per person together with an amountto cover sellers’ commission. If this means that you have to pay anincrease of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements,you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday ifwe are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality youwill not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will berefunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a fullrefund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges. Wewill consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid ifyou can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy.Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise yourright to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on yourfinal invoice. Should the price of your holiday go down due to thechanges mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost,then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note thattravel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency andsome apparent changes have no impact on the price of your traveldue to contractual and other protection in place.

5. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING: If, after our confirmation invoicehas been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in anyway, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, wewill do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always bepossible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing fromthe person who made the booking. You will be asked to pay anadministration charge (amounts vary dependent upon at what stage the

change is made and the type of holiday – ask for details), and any furthercost we incur in making this alteration. You should be aware that thesecosts could increase the closer to the departure date that changes aremade and you should contact us as soon as possible. Note: Certain travelarrangements may not be changeable after a reservation has been madeand any alteration request could incur a cancellation charge of up to100% of that part of the arrangements. 6. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY: You, or any member of your party,may cancel your travel arrangements at any time. Written notificationfrom the person who made the booking must be received at our officesby letter or e-mail. (telephone cancellations are not accepted) Since weincur costs in cancelling your travel arrangements, you will have to paythe applicable cancellation charges up to the total holiday price. Note: Ifthe reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of yourinsurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. A transfer ofholiday arrangements to a later departure date, or to a holiday costingless will normally be treated as a cancellation and re-booking (see tablebelow).Please note different cancellation charges to those shown above mayapply to some cruise bookings – please refer to the Cruise Line’s ownterms & conditions, when shown, for the scale of charges.7. IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY: It is unlikely that we willhave to make any changes to your travel arrangements, but we do planthe arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally, we may haveto make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most ofthese changes will be minor and we will advise you of them at the earliestpossible date. We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancelyour travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clientsrequired for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may haveto cancel it. However, we will not cancel your travel arrangements lessthan 8 weeks, or as stated in this brochure, before your departure dateexcept for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the finalbalance. If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements, youcan either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer ofalternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, ifavailable (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of alower value). In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we arerequired to advise you of the actual carrier operating yourflight/connecting flight/transfer. We do this by listing carriers to be usedor likely to be used in the brochure/ on the confirmation. Any changes tothe actual airline after you have received your tickets will be notified toyou as soon as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boardinggate. Such a change is deemed to be a minor change. Other examples ofminor changes include alteration of your outward/return flights by lessthan 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, change of accommodation toanother of the same standard. If we make a major change to your holiday,we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time beforeyour departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the changeof arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements ofcomparable standard from us if available (we will refund any pricedifference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your bookedholiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. In all cases, exceptwhere the major change arises due to reasons of force majeure, Thecompensation that we offer does not exclude you from claiming more ifyou are entitled to do so. Force Majeure: We will not pay youcompensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements inany way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond ourcontrol. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute,terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire,adverse weather conditions, epidemics and pandemics, unavoidabletechnical problems with transport.8. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT: If you have a problem during yourholiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier)immediately. When your holiday is escorted you should also inform yourTour Manager/Coach Driver who will endeavour to put things right. Inthe event they are unable to resolve the matter you should contact ouroffice on 01895 83 33 33 or on the out-of-hours emergency numberwhich you will find on your itinerary. If your complaint is not resolvedlocally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home bywriting to our Customer Services Department at GN Holidays, 3 StationApproach, Higher Denham, Uxbridge, Middx, UB9 5EL giving yourbooking reference and all other relevant information. Please keep yourletter concise and to the point. This will assist us to quickly identify yourconcerns and speed up our response to you. It is strongly recommendedthat you communicate any complaint to the supplier of the services inquestion as well as to our representative without delay and complete areport form whilst in resort. If you fail to follow this simple procedure wewill have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectifyyour complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rightsunder this contract. 9. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU: If the contract we have with you is notperformed or is improperly performed by us or our suppliers we will payyou appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of yourtravel arrangements. However we will not be liable where any failure inthe performance of the contract is due to: you; or a third partyunconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and wherethe failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual andunforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences ofwhich could not have been avoided even if all due care had beenexercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care,could not foresee or forestall. Our liability, except in cases involvingdeath, injury or illness, shall be limited to a maximum of two times thecost of your travel arrangements. Our liability will also be limited inaccordance with and/or in an identical manner to: (a) The contractualterms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travelarrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and (b)Any relevant international convention, for example the MontrealConvention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respectof travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and theParis Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, whichlimit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury,delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage.We are to be regarded as having all benefit of any limitation ofcompensation contained in these or any conventions. You can ask forcopies of the transport companies' contractual terms, or the internationalconventions, from our offices GN Holidays, 3 Station Approach, HigherDenham, Uxbridge, Middx, UB9 5EL. Under EU law (Regulation 261/2004)you have rights in some circumstances to refunds and/or compensationfrom your airline in cases of denied boarding, cancellation or delay toflights. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and willalso be available from airlines. However reimbursement in such cases will

not automatically entitle you to a refund of your holiday cost from us.Your right to a refund and/or compensation from us is set out in clause 6.If any payments to you are due from us, any payment made to you by theairline will be deducted from this amount. If your airline does not complywith these rules you should complain to the Air Transport Users' Councilon 020 7240 6061 www.auc.org.uk10. PROMPT ASSISTANCE IN RESORT: if the contract we have with youis not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failuresattributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of theservices, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeablecircumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could nothave been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an eventwhich we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee orforestall, and you suffer an injury or other material loss, we will offer yousuch prompt assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances.11. PASSPORT, VISA AND IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS: Yourspecific passport and visa requirements, and other immigrationrequirements are your responsibility and you should confirm these withthe relevant Embassies and/or Consulates. We do not accept anyresponsibility if you cannot travel because you have not complied withany passport, visa or immigration requirements.12. HOLIDAYS BY COACH: Coaches used are modern and comfortable,usually with WC. In the event of operational difficulties, on day tours andon short journeys we reserve the right to use coaches without this facility.All coach departure points are offered subject to a minimum of 8passengers joining at each. However, we will do our utmost to meet allpick-up requests regardless of this minimum subject to operationalconstraints such as driver hours regulations. Your actual departure pointand time will be confirmed with your travel documents.COACH SEAT NUMBERSwill be printed on your travel documents pleasenotify us of any special requests at the time of booking. Smoking and/oralcohol consumption are not permitted on the coaches. No-one will beallowed to board the coach if they are considered to be at our solediscretion unfit to travel through excessive alcohol consumption.13. HOLIDAYS BY TRAIN: Where possible we will reserve seats for yourjourneys, but we cannot always guarantee that seats will be together orin the direction of travel. Please be aware that trains in Europe are oftendouble-deck, and, we have no control over which deck we are allocated.Where we travel by overnight sleeper train beds are upper and lowerunless stated otherwise.14. EXCURSIONS: Excursions or other tours that you may choose to bookor pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of your package holidayprovided by us.15. FITNESS TO TRAVEL/ REFUSED TRAVEL: At check-in we reserve theright to refuse travel to anyone who has failed to declare to us in advanceany mobility limitations/ and or health issues, and who in our opinion, isnot fit to travel because they are a danger to themselves or othertravellers. In this instance no refund or compensation will be paid.16. ACCOMMODATION ONLY: Where accommodation only is provided,transportation to and from the accommodation is your soleresponsibility.17. TICKETS: Travel documents/ tickets with timings and final itinerarieswill normally be sent to you around 7 days before departure.18. JOINING OUR HOLIDAYS: Your arrangements with us begin and endat the point you join our holiday. We cannot accept any responsibility fortravel arrangements you make to or from this point. (For those who needto make independent travel arrangements to get to a station/airport orwho need to arrange an overnight hotel prior to/after a tour - werecommend you check with us, and wait until we are in a position toconfirm exact timings before you book or make any reservations.) 19. TRAVEL INSURANCE: It is a condition of travel that everyonetravelling outside mainland UK must have adequate insurance cover –details of the insurance for everyone in your party must be notified to GNHolidays no later than at the time of paying your balance. As a result ofrecent changes in legislation GN Holidays have chosen not to sell travelinsurance. Regrettably our staff are not able to offer help or advice on thissubject nor able to recommend insurers.20. TRAVEL DELAYS: Occasionally delays will occur. In the event we willwork closely with all carriers to ensure the delay is as short as possible.We will try to make sure that arrangements are made for refreshments,when appropriate, but these arrangements will usually be theresponsibility of the carrier.Any claim for delays should be directed to your travel insurer. In theunlikely event your flight is delayed more than 4 hours or cancelled, youshould contact GN Holidays for guidance. It is your responsibility toobtain written confirmation of the delay/ cancellation from the airline/rail operator before you leave the airport/ station – this will be requiredshould it be necessary to claim on your travel insurance.21. PORTERAGE: Porterage is not included unless indicated in theholiday description. Our Tour Managers are not able to offer any luggageassistance. When packing your luggage, please remember that it is youthat will have to carry it.22. BROCHURE INFORMATION & TIMINGS: All information in ourbrochures is correct at the time of going to print. All timings given areapproximate (often firm schedules are not available when a tour is firstput on sale). Precise timings and a full itinerary will be sent to you withyour travel documents. You are asked to remember that veryoccasionally resort or other facilities may be withdrawn for maintenanceor other reasons beyond our control, such as the sudden onset of adverseweather conditions.
