Some other ideas:• Use an iPad with video from your culture• Use traditional music from your culture• Use a poster board display to show information• Use pictures, drawing, and maps to represent things• Any decorations that you come up with together as a group.
• You will need a brief explanation with each so we can tell what they are. You may need to research this information. When you do research, submit the information to our librarian Eric Palmer: [email protected]

Think about what you want to accomplish in your display…
Timeframe • Orientation and welcome party
• (Monday, September 26 – 4:00 pm; Strosacker 2)• Expectation: Be on time and ready to talk with new people and share your culture
• Mid-semester progress report and bowling event• (Tuesday, October 2o – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm; Valley Lane)• Expectation: Have an outline (at least) of what you are going to present (in writing!)
• Students put up displays in library • (Monday, November 14– 4:00 pm; Strosacker Library)• Expectation: Have projects completed and have them set up by the end of the day on Monday, November 14.
• Reception/party – Panel of judges will vote on Top 3 displays• (Tuesday, November 15 – 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm; Strosacker 2)• Expectation: Come back and enjoy the food, company, and maybe you’ll win an award!

Description of project/pizza
50 dollars for each group to develop a “Culture Kits” to be put on display in library Party at Valley Lanes to check in how your presentation are coming along and to get feedback from professorsPut your presentation on display in the library
Winning three teams get money for study-abroad or a domestic study around somewhere in the United States in the spring semester.
Dates: September 26, 2016 – Strosacker 2; 4:00 p.m.(Free Pizza!) Each team fills out paperwork and get more information about funding
Tuesday, October 20 – Valley Lanes Bowling Alley, 4:00pm to 5:30 pm (Free for participants)
Monday, November 14 – setting up displays throughout the day
Tuesday, November 15 – Reception and judges
Panel of judges will choose the top 3 presentation and allocated study abroad or domestic study abroad money based on presentations
Top prizes• All groups receive 50 dollars to start their project• Completing this project will look great on resumes and
should be something you are proud of• Making friends and cross-cultural awareness is the key
• 1st Prize group will get $500 per person in group • 2nd Prize group will get $400 per person in group• 3rd Prize group will get $300 per person in group
• Funding will be available for the students if they do Study Abroad (or domestic study abroad)
• Limited to 3-4 people per group.
