Global Connections 3 rd Quarter Project Students will create a “country in a box” focusing on a country of their choice. Projects will be due March 14, 2012. Requirements: -Students may use any country EXCEPT the United States of America. -On the outside of the box, include pictures from the country or that describe the country (flags, maps, pictures of celebrations, the people of the country, etc. ) -On the inside: -Describe the country you are focusing on. -Include at least FIVE of the following topics (in bold): -Government 1. Form of Government (Democracy, Democratic Monarchy, One party Communist Government, etc.) 2. Current Government a. Head of State and Head of government b. Legislative Body/ies: c. Judicial (Courts and Justice) d. Role of the Military e. Who gets to vote and at what age? Who can be elected? -Population 1. Total # of people 2. Rank among world's most populated nations 3. Density: # of people per square mile 4. Distribution a. urban (city) ___% b. rural (country) ____% c. Circle Graph 5. Ethnic Groups a. List groups with percents 6. Languages found in the country a.
