The prince charming

El principe azul, los caballeros las prefieren brutas, they are books that most

of the people defines as feminists, or they also say they do not provide

knowledge, but they explain real situations of life with the intension of giving

a lesson, or teach the reader.

Most of these books are read by

women, but if men would only

give an opportunity they would

realize the point of view of the

women and the mistakes they

do a lot of times. In those books

we can find experiences of

some relationships that we can

see frequently in our normal

lives, and those books also tell

us how people life the now days

love, both men and women have

priority in money, and not in

love of themselves.

Why not giving the opportunity to know them?

It would be so helpful... I think that in some

circumstances we need to open our eyes and

listen to experiences that can help us to grow

like people and chance some infant attitudes

that only fail us into a period of depression it

could be like stop eating or going outside, only

because the person we love isn't good for us,

instead of failing over that period of

depression we must find solutions and let our

fears behind and be happy

“Trying to destroy others is simply a reflection

of self-destruction you want”

Letters to

Jane…. By: Isabel Toro Hoyos

I feel really nervous trying to write an article about such a

magnificent author and women, I personally admire. I’m

realizing that it’s really hard to find words that can give her

the recognition and the honor that she deserves.

Jane Austen is one of the most important British novelists,

such has the Brontë sisters, Ann Radcliffe, Mary Shelly, and

some others remarkable authors either men or women. Her

writing style even though is from the XVIII century and it

takes place at the Georgian England, it is quite relevant for

this time. Her romantic novel is really brilliant, the irony and

the humour that she imprints to her books is what made her

one classic in the British literature.

Page 14: Girl books

Jane was born in the Steventon

rectory in Hampshire. Her books

are most about the country living,

the rectory life style, the military

life because some or her brother join

the militia and all her characters

are worried for getting a husband

or are in the age of marriage.

She was the seventh child in her

family; she and her older sister

Cassandra were the only women in

her family, so they were confidents

and best friends. Most of their

letters to each other you can read it

in the book “Letters to Cassandra”

which is a recompilation of images

and the letters from Jane to her

sister Cassandra.

Either Jane or Cassandra never got

married. Cassandra’s fiancé died of

yellow fever in the Caribbean, he

was a military. Jane had a love

affair with the cousin of a friend in

Hampshire, Tom Lefroy, she was 20

year old. They tried to runaway

but at the end they couldn’t got

married, because they had

economic problems. Also she was

proposed when she lived in bath,

they were in loved but he died

before they could have married.

The last marriage proposal that

Jane received was dissolved by him,

the next day after the proposal.

Page 15: Girl books

She published her book “Sense and sensibility”

1810 as an anonymous author, her brother

Henry did the transactions in the publishing

of her books. Her greatest success was her

book “Pride and prejudice” published in 1813.

Step by step it was spread the rumour that

she was the famous author of “Pride and

Prejudice”. She died at the age of 41 and left

an amazing legacy behind.

She is now recognized as an author, as a

wonderful writer, with really amusing books,

unforgettable characters and touching

stories. Once you open one of her books you

are immediately absorbed, captivated and in

love of it. The romanticism and the irony of

each sentence, each page and each book are

what make her so unique and great.

Mansfield Park

This book it’s a little different from “Pride and

prejudice” because it’s the other view of a rich family.

This story is told by the silent and right point of view

of Ms Fanny Price. Fanny is a girl from a relativity

poor family who is raised by her uncle Sir Thomas

Bertram and her aunt Lady Bertram the owners of

Mansfield Park; she is raised with her 4 cousins Tom,

Edmund, Maria and Julia Bertram. Maria and Julia

always treated her as inferior to them; only Edmund

shows her real kindness. He is also the most virtuous of

the siblings: Maria and Julia are vain and spoiled,

while Tom is an irresponsible gambler. Over time,

Fanny's gratitude for Edmund's kindness secretly

grows into romantic love. When they grow up they

have an addition to their social circle, while Sir

Bertram is out for a year two characters appeared Mr

Henry Crawford and his sister Ms Mary Crawford,

immediately Edmund feels love for Mary Crawford,

Fanny suffered in silence while she realizes how

unpleasant and vain is Mary and how flirty and

seductive is Henry with her two cousins even knowing

that Maria is engaged. Sir Bertram is back, Maria is

married, and Edmund is becoming clergyman. Fanny

is noticed and Henry is in love with her. While these

complicated things happen at the same time step by

step Edmund is realizing how Mary truly is and while

Fanny doesn’t noticed Henry, and he is losing interest.

Everything will turn out alright for Fanny who made

Edmund fall in love for her.

Letters to Cassandra

“I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of

liking them a great deal.”

“I had a very pleasant evening, however, though you will probably find out

that there was no particular reason for it; but I do not think it worth while

to wait for enjoyment until there is some real opportunity for it.”

“I have now attained the true art of letter-writing, which we are always

told, is to express on paper exactly what one would say to the same person

by word of mouth.”

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a

good fortune must be in want of a wife.” Pride and prejudice

Pride and Prejudice:

My personal favourite and Jane Austen’s most famous book.

This precious masterpiece of literature makes you feel truly

in love of what happens in every page. The book it’s about

young Lizzy (Elizabeth) Bennet and her 4 sister’s lives. Her

family picture is very peculiar her mom it’s nervous,

imprudent, kind of crazy and very talkative, Lydia and

Kitty her youngest sister’s are really flirty and shallow, his

dad is prudent but sometimes he behaves in a really

inappropriate way, Mary it’s arrogant and analytic, her

eldest sister, Jane is really benevolent and Lizzy’s best friend.

Lizzy is really intelligent, prudent, and nice but really

prejudice. Her mother feels desperate to marry her daughters

with some rich, and important gentlemen, for her relieve Mr

Bingley moves into Hertfordshire, into Netherfield Hall. In a

ball Mr Bingley it’s introduced to Jane, in the same ball there

is a particular gentlemen who is Mr Bingley’s best friend,

who is even richer than him, this gentlemen is Mr Darcy,

who is taken by proud. Between Mr Darcy and Lizzy starts a

hate for each other pride and prejudice that slowly turn into

the deepest and more sincere love.

Letters to Cassandra : “I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves

me the trouble of liking them a great deal.”

general, it is usually correct.” Mansfield Park
