Press Release:

London's immersive dining phenomenon: Gingerline launches new event - The Hideout - at a mystery location from November 2013. Gingerline, the pioneers of underground immersive dining, are offering the capital ’s most daring diners and fun-seekers the chance to be transported to a parallel-reality where cutting-edge food, art , performance and festivit ies coll ide. Taking place at a top-secret location on the East London Line, revealed to guests just 60 minutes before the event begins, the only thing Gingerline guests can expect is the unexpected. For their last project, Gingerline HQ 10,000 intrepid diners crossed the threshold during the last 8-month sell-out run, each buying a ticket without knowing a single detail about where or what the experience would entail and, once back in reality, no-one broke the Gingerline Code of total secrecy. Now Gingerline is taking immersive dining to the next level with its most exciting and ambitious event to date – The Hideout – and it is inviting your readers to join them on this new riotous odyssey. Founded three years ago by Suz Mountfort & Kerry Adamson (two adventure-loving food fanatics) as an experimental pop-up art and food project, Gingerline has cavorted and cartwheeled through nine different ventures. Gingerline set the trend in motion, and continues to be the Gold Standard – or should that be Ginger Standard – for London’s alternative dining scene. Its high-quality creative concoctions have drawn comparisons with Punch Drunk and You Me Bum Bum Train, but with delicious four-course feasting, a welcome drink, menu keepsake and an extraordinary night of revels and revelations to boot. Tickets wil l go on sale at 9am on September 30th for The Hideout adventure commencing in November 2013. Tickets wil l cost £50 for Wednesdays and Thursdays, and £55 for Friday and Saturday evenings. Please note that previous events have sold out at l ightning speed, so your readers are advised to book early to avoid missing out. The event wil l run throughout November and December 2013. A small number of advanced bookings are available for

groups of 20+. Further details are available by contacting [email protected] Take a jaunt on the Gingerline: Gingerline is powered by innovation and runs on the rails of secrecy: on the night guests receive a text message inviting them to one of the stations along the East London Line ( increasingly known as the Gingerline) , 60 minutes before the event begins. This prosaic text is your gentle introduction to the extraordinary journey ahead. From the station guests are guided to an unusual, top-secret location. Gingerline’s revels always include a welcome drink and four-course fine dining banquet – but all else wil l remain beyond the realms of prediction. Past events have seen guests tumble through labyrinthine corridors of doors, into the surrealist world of a mad puppeteers workshop in Forest Hil l , or submerged in a dive’n ’dine experience in a Shoreditch submarine mess hall , with “porthole” projections revealing deep sea delights. The Secret Order of the Gingerline drew guests into a candlelit Canonbury chapel, for an evening that was part bacchanalian booze-up, part Ginger-cult r ite of passage. Guests enjoyed a banquet boasting bone marrow delicacies, al l watched over by hooded performers and the approving faces of the saucy stained-glass windows, gl inting across the room. Only the Brave Will Dine! Notes to Editors: • For more information, images, interviews with the founders Susannah Mountfort or Kerry Adamson, or previous collaborators, or to ask about a ticket to review and feature the event in your publication, please contact Susy Parker on [email protected] or call 07813 738194. Meet the creative core behind Gingerline: Susannah Mountford and Kerry Adamson collectively hone the creative ideas and bring together top talents to collaborate on every project. Gingerline is their passion: they are first and foremost a group of fr iends who love l iving on the East London Line, and they want to share it ! Susannah Mountford (Suz) is the bright, sparky creature responsible for creating Gingerline. She’s the founder, leader, ideas-spinner and motivator. Suz comes from a long l ine of maternal home cooks – and she loves to experiment in the kitchen. With no formal background in food, art , theatre or design for that matter, she just does what she loves and feels passionate about: Gingerl ine! Living in Crystal Palace she was inspired and super-excited about the possibil it ies of f inding new and exciting ways for people to have fun since the opening up of the East London Line. Gingerline is her f irst creative project – long may it last! Kerry Adamson puts the Ginger in Gingerl ine (she has BIG ginger hair) . Descending from a long l ine of gingers she is happy to celebrate what was, for her, an accident of birth. She loves music, performance, gardening and her pet quails. Sometime performer and lead singer, she is also Gingerline’s Project Manager, scooping up ideas in a net and making them work practically , to her amazement! Darl ing & Edge are Elise Colledge and Harriet Wakeling, a playful , independent design duo based in Hackney who specialise in bespoke events and look after the space design dimension of Gingerline ’s projects. Successfully merging the beautiful , the l ight-hearted and the intriguing into their f inal concept, they work with a diverse range of materials to create an immersive, intimate atmosphere. D&E’s cl ients include Lost Lectures, Selfridges and Sony and, in 2012, were selected as the designers-in-residence at the Old Vic Tunnels.
