C elebrate Fall
Thank you for choosing Debbie Camba Photography!
As the daughter of a talented black and white film portrait photographer, I have always appreciated photographic art, but it wasn’t until later in life that I developed a passion for photography. After the birth of my son, like many new moms, I was inspired to capture and freeze moments in time showing his beauty, innocence, joy, surprise, silliness and many other expressions. Then, the loss of my father awakened a dormant dream to pursue photography. Along my journey, I quickly discovered that connecting with children and capturing them at each fleeting stage is what truly inspires me.
As a photographer, my goal is to capture your child and your family in ‘real’ moments of life and create lasting memories that will warm your heart long after your little one(s) is/are grown. My approach is relaxed, casual, and most important—fun! I strive to capture images that are natural, but may sometimes make suggestions for prompting a pose.
I work on location using natural and available light in picturesque parks or a favorite spot of your choice. I shoot indoor as well, provided that you have a bright room with large windows that will allow me to make the most of natural lighting.
I encourage you to share with me some of your child’s likes/dislikes and any other information prior to the shoot so that I can do my best to make your child feel at ease and make your photo session an enjoyable experience. Prior to your scheduled session, I like to arrange a phone consultation to discuss your session. I find this helps manage expectations and prepare everyone in advance.
Typically, regular portrait sessions last for approximately one to 1.5 hours (30-‐45 minutes for mini sessions), but I understand that some children may need more time to warm up or take a snack or potty break and plan accordingly. Newborn sessions are typically a minimum of two hours.
Within 14 days after your session, I will email you a link to a private online gallery of images from your session, which will be available for two weeks. Please feel free to share the link with family and friends. You may then select your images, depending on the package you’ve chosen. Once you have made your selection, and I have received payment, you can expect your images within 2-‐3 weeks.
I appreciate all referrals! Any booked sessions that result from your referral will garner you a $25 credit for a 1-‐hour session.
Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions
What should we wear?
Bright colors and neutral colors tend to photograph well. While it used to be popular for everyone in the family to match exactly (ie, everyone wears white shirts and jeans), many families are now leaning towards choosing a color palette and then letting each family member choose their favorite clothes within those colors. I've attached some examples that other photographers have put together, just as exmples. The color palette can be lighter/neutral/pastel colors, or you can go with brighter tones like red, green, blue, yellow. You might also want to think about a theme. For example, retro, classic, elegant, bright & sunny, or casual and laid back. The most important thing is to choose clothing that matches your family's style and especially for kids, something that they will be comfortable in and happy to wear. I also suggest you consider the colors in the rooms you plan to hang photos in and choose a palette that will compliment your decor.
Aside from choosing a color palette (and a theme if it suits you), the only "rule" I would suggest is to avoid wearing shirts or jackets with big logos or characters. They can be distracting and take the focus away from your family's beautiful faces.
What should we bring?
If your family includes small children, you may want to pack a small backpack with snacks, juice and a change of clothing just in case! You can also feel free to bring along any toys or books that your child loves.
What is a typical session like?
A typical session lasts between 1 hour and 1.5 hours (30 -‐ 45 minutes for a Mini Session) at an outdoor location. My approach is casual, relaxed and fun, and while some of the family portraits may be gently posed, I strive to capture the natural moments in between. Please feel free to let me know if there are certain poses or groupings of family members that you want included. I'm always willing to incorporate your ideas, so don't be shy if you have any suggestions.
What happens if it rains?
Overcast days are usually fine, but if it rains, we will either need to move indoors to a location with a lot of natural light, or reschedule the session for a time when it's not raining.
What happens if I have to cancel?
I understand that life sometimes gets in the way of our plans-‐-‐ kids get sick, unexpected things happen, and you may have to cancel our session. My policy for portfolio building sessions is as follows-‐-‐ for cancellations taking place less than one week prior to the shoot, I am willing to reschedule one time, provided that I have another date open. If a session is cancelled twice, I am unable to reschedule again at my discounted rate, but you may schedule a regular session.
