KEYPOINTS n Hostess Coaching is a skill, and skills increase with practice! n We get what we expect, so be sure you are clear and confident! Make each call with purpose and intention in your voice. n People will do business with you when they LIKE, KNOW, and TRUST you. Use each contact with your hostess as an opportunity to build this relationship. n It’s okay to leave some reminders to the hostess in a voicemail message! n Find a way to remind the hostess about the free products she’s getting a few times when you talk to her. (Example: “Don’t forget to make your wish list!”)

1)HostPacketn If you choose to give the hostess packet at the party, make sure you set a time to go over a few details. Usually 2-3 days later is best. Write down the agreed time in your calendar, and also on their packet. n If you send the packet through the mail, still set a time for the hostess coaching call.

2)ConfirmDaten A personal, handwritten note is great!

3)HostCoachingCalln Callattheestablishedtime (a few days after she books is best).n Establishapartnership. “Let’s go over the hostess packet. You and I are partners in making this a huge success! Your part is getting people to your house so that I can do my part. I am responsible for making sure everyone has a great time!”n FocusheronwhatSHEgets: “Have you thought about what products you want to get from your party? The average sales are usually around $500, which means you as the hostess could get $300 in products for $50! Which products in the catalog do you absolutely have to have? Let’s write them down on your wish list.”

n SAVETHEDATE: She should have her friends save the date RIGHT AWAY!n WHOTOINVITE: “Let’s think of a few guests right now so I can help you.” They need to invite double the number of guests that they want to come. (15-20 is great)n HOWTOINVITE: Personal invites (in person/on the phone) are best. She can follow up with an e-vite or mailed invite. n WHENTOINVITE: Best to send invitations 2-3 weeks before the party. n Cancellationreminder. “I’m sure this won’t happen, but if for any reason you reschedule your party, please let me know ASAP. This is my job, so I would need to fill this date with something else if it were to reschedule.”

4)Invitations n Invitations should go out 2-3 weeks before the partyn If you are mailing out reminder invitations for her, now is the time to do it! n If she is mailing them out herself, be sure to send her an example to make it easy for her. Give her a call to remind her.

5)PamperBasketn Give the hostess a basket full of products or samples for her to try the week before her party. You will pick it up from her the night of the party. (Suggestions: skin care, body wash, body lotion, makeup primer, shampoo/conditioner)

6)FinalDetailsGo over final details regarding food and drinks. Simple is best, drinks before and food at end of presentation. n Get final numbers. n Say, “tell me about who’s coming?” This is a chance for you to profile the guests before meeting them.n Remind her to collect outside orders.n Let her know to remind her guests about the party through phone or email. Phone is first option.

Collect client profile sheets from everyone. Each guest should fill this form out completely. This is a very important document. It’s your link to the guests in attendance for follow-up. I would recommend starting an e-mail list of people you’ve sponsored so you can keep them updated of future specials and events. You might even start a “Client Profile” notebook. Have several on hand at your presentation. Remember to draw one sheet from the stack and gift that person with a prize.
