Workflow Session
• Draft Agenda– Scenario outline (with links to Disaster
Management, Sensor Planning Services and Processing) - all
– Overview of available tools and identified issues - Y. Coene Spacebel, R. Lucchi JRC
– Discussion and Planning - all– AOB– Adjourn
Workflow Session
• Requirements over Scenarios:– End-to-end scenarios should include
• Data requirements:– archived data – to be acquired
» systematic» tasked
– From satellite (Optical, Radar, Meteorological,…)– In-situ– Geospatial and other (demographic, protected areas, etc…)
• User Requirements on– data access (which data sources, update frequency, quality,…)– results and information exploitation (output formats, presentation
requirements,…)• Interaction Diagrams indicating actors, endpoints, operations to be supported by
the Workflow
Workflow Session
• Issues:– how to avoid data source duplication when global,
regional or local authorities may be harvesting the same source.
– Latency: how to ensure that end-to-end scenarios can cope with delays, …
– Compensation for faults and unexpected events i.e. alternative flows
– Persistence: i.e. storage of processed data and association of relevant metadata (e.g. by using WFS)
Workflow Session: Tools
– Please list and detail proposed/available tools e.g.:• From FEDEO in 2007 Persistent Testbed available at
http://services.eoportal.org including – workflow engine– clients for:
» ISO and EO Ebrim extension package catalogues,» CSW ISO Profile» Sensor Planning Service EO Profile» Sensor Observation Service» EO order profile» WMS and simple feature WCS, WFS
• Open Source “Skeleton” sw to simulate and build servers • Dedicated forum to be set up for planned activities
