•Mr. Misra is the Head of Department of Surgery as well as Neurosurgery and Gamma Knife Radiosurgery at Mumbai’s PD. Hinduja Hospital.

•BC Roy Award is the highest recognition for medical practitioners in India. It was instituted by the Medical Council of India (MCI) in 1976 in memory of renowned physician and former West Bengal Chief Minister Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.

President Emmanuel Macron were jointly awarded 2018 Champions of the Earth Award, UN’s highest environmental honour.

•They were chosen in Policy Leadership category of the award for their pioneering work in championing International Solar Alliance (ISA) and promoting new areas of levels of cooperation on environmental action.

Nahargarh Biological Park. •The park is located on

•Visitors will be able to see lions in their natural habitat in the park enclosed by a fence. They will be taken on a nearly 4 kilometer safari in a closed bus.

21 September, 2018 •India’s biggest cyclotron facility named Cyclone-30

has become operational. •It is at Kolkata-based Variable Energy Cyclotron

Centre (VECC), which comes under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

•Cyclotron is used to produce radioisotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic use for cancer care. Radiations from these isotopes are used to destroy cancer cells.

21 September, 2018 •International Day of Sign Languages aims to raise

awareness of the importance of sign language in the full realisation of the human rights of people who are deaf.

•The day was proposed by the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), a federation of 135 national associations of deaf people, representing around 70 million deaf people’s human rights worldwide.

10 September, 2018 •Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in

Bengaluru, capital of Karnataka is set to become the first airport in Asia to introduce face recognition based passage system technology.

•The face recognition based passage system will allow passengers to board flights and move across different sections of the airport using automatic biometric boarding procedure instead of manual boarding passes verification.

out world’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train.

•These locomotives named iLint trains emit zero emissions making them eco-friendly.

Sikkim’s first-ever airport at Pakyong. •Pakyong airport is India’s 100th functional

airport and one of the country’s five highest airports.

•Prior to this airport, Sikkim was the only state in India remaining without a functional airport.
