Chimicor is born in 1996 in Rossa-no Veneto, a small town in the area of Vicenza, surrounded by the ve-netian countryside. This is the pla-ce where Mr and Mrs Wrastor-Cor-tese decided to open a laboratory for the production of homeopathic products and dietary supplements.Dr Alix Wrastor, doctor and rese-archer, has been dealing with ho-meopathy and natural medicine for over 50ys, being the first to bring natural medicine to the Veneto re-gion. Renè Quinton was born on 15 December 1866 in Chaumes-en-Brie (France).His impetuous temper brought him an interest on the things surrounding him, very soon. He begin since his youth, to look at things critically and with curious eyes; he had a decisive role in French avia-tion history, since he immediately perceived its importance; he was thus, founder of the Ligue Ae-rienne Nationale and president of the Ligue Aèro-nautique de France, afterwards.Quinton was a war-hero. He took part in numerous battles that brought him the higher reconnaissance , he was made commandeur de la Légion d’Hon-neur. Quinton focused his studies mainly on bio-

logy and his continuos researches brought him to several theories, which were proved on a scientific level, afterwards, on the therapeutic powers of sea-water. His conclusions on the origin of life remain renowned and put him forward with respect to Dar-win’s theories.According to Quinton the first living cells appeared in the sea. The evolution and succession of animal forms was made keeping some constants, namely: thermic, aquatic and osmotic constants. Conse-quently, every body seems to be a marine aqua-rium where the cell that make it up, keep on living in the same original aquatic conditions – Quinton’s Law of Marine Constancy.The first experiments brought Quinton, in June 1897, to bleed white a 10kg dog at the College de France, and substitute its blood mass with natural sea-water (Dr Quinton Plasma). After 24h, the dog was moving in his laboratory and had already re-ta-ken a normal aspect. Eight days after, he was even more lively and reactive than before. The dog lived 15ys after that.In replacing sea-water with salted physiologic wa-ter, no animal lived through the operation. This is what Dr Quinton used to call “vital envi-ronment”, and of which he showed its importance through the experiments lead on dogs.The enhancement of our means of investigation kept on confirming his theories. All mineral salts existing in living being, both aquatic and non-aqua-tic, although in infinitesimal parts are found in sea-water in the same proportions. Quinton said: “animal life appeared at the state of cell in the seas tended to maintain, through zoolo-gical series, the cell composing each organism in a marine environment. This environment was not kept in all organisms, but the ones in which this conservation was not kept, underwent a vital de-cadence.”Sea water is by far the most rich in minerals, so rich Fonsegrives wrote “sea water is an admirable medication, disdained only because of its abundan-ce. Thus, absurdly, if marine basins got dry and we were left with just a few ponds of this water, people who are sick would run to it, as they now run to the most renowned springs”.Sea water is after all nothing but mineral water, containing 35g of salt per litre on average. If it is first of all a sodium-chlorinate water, since it con-tains more than 10g of sodium chlorine per litre, it is magnesium-chlorinate and magnesium-sulphu-reted as well. One may even say, the quantity of magnesium-sulphate it contains, is so important it may also be classified as strongly chlorine-sulphu-reted water.What is more, sea water contains in remarkable quantities, calcium sulphate, potassium sulphate, strontium carbonate, bromide and iodide. Its very high density, is compared to its salinity: 1,020 in the English Channel, 1,028 in the ocean; 1,032 in the Mediterranean. Its PH is feebly alkaline and varies in deep water, generally from 7.7 to 8.4.Having recalled the physic-chemical composition of sea water, it is useful insisting on the role of each mineral body it contains at the state of infinitesi-mal traces that represent an almost complete col-lection of samples of all simple bodies. These are found in the same proportions we observe in the organism and, be they fixed onto organic molecu-les or free, at a molecular or ionic state, they do present themselves in the most absorbable form. Oligo-elements and bio elements are as indispen-sable for life as hormones, vitamins and enzymes. It is enough to think about Ca++ or K+ role in the ionic balance of our cells, or in the cardiac rhythm; the importance of fluorine in bones calcification, of iodine in metabolism and growth, of copper in oxi-de-reduction phenomena and the therapeutic vir-tues of elements such as brome, arsenic, iron and magnesium to realise how important the mineral composition of sea water is.

In the end, sea water contains several elements at their radioactive state: radio-calcium, radio-manga-nesium, radio-phosphorus, radio-iodine, and this feature may be at the origin of supplementary the-rapeutic virtues.Yet, sea water is not only a mineral substance and dissolved gases (O, N, CO2) solution, it is also and above all a living environment. It is the natural en-vironment of animals and plants, going from non-pathologic bacteria up to mammals. Countless small shellfishes and zooplankton eating the im-mense prairie of minuscule floating sea-weeds or phytoplankton. It is this population that regulates the physic-chemical composition of the sea water, which fixes certain substance at the organic status as it decomposed the organic substances in mineral salts. The recent notion of water PH variation accor-ding to season, latitude, sun exposition, deepness, make us contemplate about the complexity of this bio-chemical activity. A practical example of the im-portance of the metabolism of mineral substances, as made by marine organisms, is represented by sea-weeds. They are actual oligo-elements accu-mulators. Laminaria and Fucus, in particular, con-centrates iodine and sulphurs. Yet these sea weeds contain, selectively in their plasma, iodine on the basis of 1% of their weight up to reaching a higher level than the one we find in sea water, they also achieve a chemical volatile iodine transmutation (De la Farge).As a natural environment in which animal- and plant- microorganisms proliferate, would it be sur-prising if the seawater contained one or more anti-biotical substances, or, at least, an anti-biotical po-wer? In his book on microbiology, Brissou, put this issue forward. He mentions experiments carried out in Toluon, consisting in calculating the quantity of pathogenic germs at different distances from the coast.This is how they came up with 5000 coli bacillus at 50m from the coast, whereas they found only 200 at a 500m distance and barely 50 at 800m. Wider studies were undertaken after the Liberation under the aegis of the Ministry of Reconstruction after the concerns related to coastal pollution, due to city drains.This report, on the one hand put into light the fast auto-depuration of the littoral waters, dirtied by the draining; and, on the other hand, the existence of an anti-biotic power of the seawater facing enteric-origin germs (communication issued by the Natio-nal Medicine Academy through professor Luis Ta-non on 20 and 27 January 1963).Several germ-enumerations have been made in seawater which had been collected in discharge opening areas, at a zero point, in a site out of their pollution, and this is what came up: in Caravan, at

the bayou they counted 800.000 coli bacillus/cm3, whereas at 20m, in a dispersion zone, 200.000 or even 100.000 according to where the collection was made. At Antibes, they counted 2.500 coli at the ba-you, and barely a hundred further away. Merely physical phenomena may come into play for sure: dilution, salinity, sun exposition, water agi-tation etc. yet, this phenomena are not explaining neither the fact germs we find in seawater at the end of a drain-channel disappear rapidly, nor the fact colonies of bacteria do not develop in seawater collected far from the shores and that this bacte-rial action decreases progressively with the aging of the water, as they could not explain how certain bacteria, namely enteric negative Gram, Eberth coli bacillus, para A, para B, Friedlander bacillus, pro-teus, enterococcus, perfringens, have an elective sensitivity.It is actually an anti-biotic power Hin de Balzac, Ber-tozzi and Goudin spoke about in their report to the Medicine Academy of 07.10.52:•The power of the anti-biotic does not depend on

the salinity of the seawater, it disappears from seawater after aging in the laboratory, starting to fade since the third day and disappearing com-pletely on the tenth day;

•Synthetic seawater does not have any anti-biotic power. This actually disappear with heating, tyn-dallisation at 70°, and auto-clave 120°

•Its anti-biotic power is preserved after the filte-ring of the seawater through a £LChamberland candle

•The anti-biotic power is not influenced by sun exposition, it stays at the same level for seawa-ter collected at night and during the day

•This power cannot be ascribed to a bacterio-phage action. The negative research of enteric bacteria bacteriophages was mainly carried out by Buttiaux. A synergic factor of the anti-biotic action is seawater agitation, which accelerates it. The same is true for oxygenation. The antibiotic power of the Atlantic waters is more active than the one of the Mediterranean water (as verified in Biarritz, La Rochelle, Lorient de Souchard). A. Buttiaux found out an anti-biotic power which rapidity is shocking in St. Malo, whereas the acti-vity of the antibiotic power is slower in the water collected in the Tunisian littoral water.

The authors end the paragraph dedicated to the features of this anti-biotic power saying: “we still have to carry out a long series of studies on the na-ture of this anti-biotic power; from isolating within the seawater the unique body or the compound which has this power, to determine its origin. The presence of anti-biotic action bodies in seawater, resulting from a bio-chemical activity of the aquatic beings could not be more surprising with respect to

the antibiotic substances we now know. ()Another biologic property of seawater is the pre-sence of enzymes and amino acids. Seawater might therefore correct the negative ef-fects of the anhydrase inhibiting substances. Col-lected far from the shores, in deep waters and then filtered, the seawater we have just descripted bio-logically and as far as its mineral structure is con-cerned, may be taken both by oral and parenteral administration.The dosage would be as follows: from two to four 10ml phials according to age, in half glass of wa-ter, progressively increasing the dosage in order to reach a 4phials three times a day level, during four weeks. From the pharmacologic point of view, seawater is made up by sodium chloride and homologous salts of potassium, calcium and magnesium, to which we should add infinitesimal quantities of other inorganic (oligo-elements) and organic elements, such as phyto- and zoo-plankton, or the hormonal secretion of the marine fauna. Therefore, seawater is not a simple solution of salts, rather a complex compound, which synthesis may be very difficult to realise.As for medical waters, different mineral seawater constituents exercise their own function both dis-solving themselves directly in the organism, and, most of all, with the synergy among their reac-tions with other elements. We technically speak of transmineralisation.At the end of the last century, Quinton had already established that human reins in doubly permeable to natural and fresh seawater (thus still “living”),


than to the artificial serum having the same con-centration.From the experiments of this author, in which each comparative series of seawater injection and artifi-cial serum was made on the same animal, he pro-ved that the organism got rid of the foreign liquid they gave it, faster and more intensively with the employment of seawater. The molecular tenor of the eliminate urines after seawater injections was higher despite the influence of a more abundant diuresis. In seawater, we find calcium, magnesium and po-tassium in complex combinations, according to a quantitative determined relation.Their biologic action is associated: let us state, brie-fly, that calcium is anallergic, dehydrates and acts on the permeabilisation of the cell boundaries, and behaves as sodium nemesis. PSORIASIS TREATMENTWITH SEAWATER INJECTIONSDr Jean Mon Fort

Speaking of the treatment of psoriasis treatment is a hard challenge.” Here is a common place that should push us to a negative scepticism, because one has to deal with this mysterious dermatologist concern, at the end of the day. Recent works (histo-chemical immunology, mainly) are going to inform us on the etio-pathogenic mechanism of this der-matitis and therefore on the right remedies. While waiting, we should however put ourselves into it to relief the pain of the psoriasis affected people. Our experience has taught us its difficulties, and we can easily understand Margarot quotation, derived from Rimbaud “the discovery of new medications for psoriasis will always be precious but the limita-tions they bring about, will add to their benefits the revalorisation of ancients medicaments.”. This is how Garkeman treatment (1920s) was re-launched.It is with the same spirit that we thought it useful to be part of this experience, begun during the 50s with our friend Professor Basset.Knowing the work of professor Quinton (eczema


and psoriasis) and the one of Tenesson at the end of the last century, Basset focused on psoriasis tha-lassotherapy, which improved the conditions of the patient only with a stay by the ocean.Our frequentation with Quinton at that time, allo-wed us to verify the efficacy of the seawater injec-tions on psoriasis. On about 800 clinic charts, we observed 28% of positive results.This is why, after the defeat of corticoids, immune depressors and classic therapies, we resume this old therapy, positively lacking of iatrogenic risks.Here is a detail of our observations, the comments they inspired and the technique used for oral ad-ministration of the Plasma, before giving our con-clusions.The benefits of the seawater have been known for ages. They even found an inscription on a Sume-rian board dating III millennium BC, a prescription including marine salt. Madame de Sevigné had in turn praised the qualities of seawater, and the cre-ation of the ocean bath-stations during the Empire followed this vision. Thalassotherapy has acquired citizenship in our medical and social habits. After reading Quinton’s work Seawater as organic en-vironment and Tenesson’s and Duflocq’s works related to the therapeutic applications to eczemas and psoriasis, Basset observed that the stays by the ocean improved remarkably psoriasis and certain constitutional eczemas, in subjects coming from the urban environment during summer vacations, and even during winter stays.One could certainly plea the sun but how could one explain the “bleaching” of the winter-time vacations? Looking at the facts, one should admit mountain stays had not the same positive effects, not even in broad sunlight. And in any case, the positive action, when produced, had not the same speed.The enquiry carried out on the people living on the side of the Atlantic, affected by psoriasis shown especially in high sea fishermen that the deep sea fishing practice had a clear “bleaching” effect, whe-reas the returns on the ground were marked with a re-apparition of more or less severe cutaneous lesions. We did the same observation with other dermatologists and what results is that for most of them, the Mediterranean did not seem to have the same effects of the Ocean, regardless of the sun.How can we explain these facts? As far as we know, no satisfying experimental proof was given besides the hypothesis putting in evidence the role of iodi-ne, nebulisations and rest, common to every holi-day.The numerous studies carried out by qualified bo-dies (Cnezo, Hoffman Lacrocha, Monaco Institute, etc) might shed light on this matter in the future.No matter what is the healthy role of the Ocean on

people affected by psoriasis, it is sure that, even if in an empiric way or through logical attempts, this remarkable therapeutic contribution was given by Dr Quinton Plasma (the author and Tenesson used it intravenously at first) that we have ever knew in the last 50 years through subcutaneous injection.It is useful to remember that old paediatrics used it as a rehydration mean, appreciated for toxico-sis and that nowadays veterinary medicine appe-aled to it for hydric and ionic loss in severe animal diarrhoea. As far as we are concerned, we use it in deep subcutaneous injections in 30 and 50ml phials, or per os at least 50/100cc per day. The experience showed us that higher dosages, at a more sustai-ned rhythm are not dangerous.

EXPERIMENTAL WORK

Our work begins with the filling out of more than 1500 psoriasis-affected people medical charts. Out of these 1500, 400 were treated with Dr Quinton’s Plasma. The study of these dossiers allowed us to retain only 141 of them, accurately classified tra-cked and precise; 259 dossiers were imprecise, not reviewed or badly tracked . Among the subjects involved in this series, only 30 could have been re used, but according to the patients, the treatments had been invented, as for rhythm and administered quantity.We would consider, in any case, that the numerous owners of these 259 dossiers were re-examined for other reasons. No one has bad memories of the tre-atment and they did not betray accidents or side ef-fects. We are left, thus, with 141 complete dossiers, followed during several months (some of them up to three years).Thirty-one observations dealt with localised psoria-sis, tragically chronic:•20 on the scalp only;•4 on nails;•2 affecting glands;•5 affecting hands and feet palms.We were forced to notice THAT, AFTER SIX MONTHS of continuous treatment (from 30 to 50ml of Plasma per day, three times a week), the check was complete. This came as no surprise for the ex-perts; the surprising plantar obstinacy is the think to remark. For as honest as it might be, this consi-deration was not encouraging. Nevertheless, we tried hard.This accurate check has left us with 110 observa-tions, full of useful things to know. These 110 pa-tients showed generally individualised forms, and they were all coming from an urban environment (Paris and surrounding areas). They included 58

females and 25 males, with ages going from 5 to 72. It looked interesting for us to notice that 45 fe-males, i.e. 77%, was younger than 40 at the time of their first consultation. The48% of the males, on the other hand, was more than 40, and some of the cases had been going on for 20ys.From the clinic point of view, we will keep two aspects in mind:

1. Etiologic aspect:a) 50% of the cases appeared after rhino-pharynges phenomena, mostly in females;b) 20% come from familiar precedents;c) 5% are difficult to classify: for diabetes heritage, endocrine factors (six of our women started being affected by it with their first menstrual cycle), psy-cho somatic accidents (emotions, psycho-affective traumas..). Among our men, four had plethoric dia-betes.In our etiologic interview, we did not find any origi-nal particularity.2. Morphologic aspect:a) Our 110 cases lead to eruptive forms affecting the whole integument. They were seedbed of papil-lae-nummular plaques, or big erythema squamous plaques (psoriasis loricata), often accompanied by papule-lenticular rash (psoriasis guttata). We did not deal with generalised papule erito-dermic forms, which urgency calls for proper means. Most of the cases were seasonal forms (spring, winter) which our subject knew well, be certain “pous-sées” the consequence of severe angines, coming with high fever.b) about the 22% was not but sudden aggravations. A rush without any other possible explanation except the change of season; usually quiescent lo-calisations, with which the patient was familiar (el-bows, knees, tibia-frontal plaques.As a matter of fact, our 110 cases, dealt with exten-sive forms, some of them even rare, with articular rashes (just one of them showed vds).The general evaluation was satisfying, leaving asi-de the diabetes case, and from the cardiovascular and renal point of view, nothing was put forward (except two cystitis attacks which role on the rash may lead to a never ending argumentation).Each of this cases (except the 5ys old kid, treated with 5 and 10ml plasma injections) went under the same therapeutic schema: beginning with a first series of 12 injections, 30ml each (three times a week for a month), followed by 6 o 12 50ml injec-tions (three times a week), according to the effects, always under abdominal skin.The treatment has never exceeded 3months (12 monthly injections, 30-50mlmeach, according to the cases).Three times we had to replace 12 30ml injections

with 18 30ml injections for two weeks. They were particularly severe and itching cases, in hyper-ner-vous subjects (coffee…)Even though the effect looked excellent at our eyes, especially on itching, we gathered our results in th-ree files:1 – good and very good2 – average3 – complete failure

1) the “bleaching” was achieved in less than two months

2) after the two above mentioned months, the blea-ching is obtained in less than three months; the experience shows us the attacks would improve spontaneously in a 3-6 months lapse;

Our overall balance, after the information and crite-ria just viewed, states what follows:Good and very good results: 28 (about 25%)Average results: 20 (about 19%)Complete failure: 62 (about 56%)

We do notice, this therapy was used alone and so-metimes with a local fluorescence, in a water so-lution at 1‰, with no marine stay or any sunlight exposure. In several cases, we noticed that the first injections were followed by local attacks; we saw, once, an improvement at the fourth injection (second week). After the third month of treatment, with no changes, we can state it was a complete failure.56% of this kind in our series is all but negligible. It looks like the 25% of the good results should be considered, even though we should tempera-te them with the 19% of average results. All this shows the limitations of our possibilities or pushes us to be modest.But let us try considering the other therapeutic methods. The comparison does not favour our counterpart; on the contrary they show how well-accepted the injection of our Plasma are by our patients, after a good explanation. We know how suspicious our psoriatic are, in an age when the medical information runs free if not completely made up.On a total of 110 observations, just two accidents took place: in both cases the injection had been inexpertly done, within the abdominal muscle. An extended and painful bruise had complicated the first case, whereas the second one was due to a functional 10days-impotence of the subject, he could not contract the abdominal muscles. After these two accidents, due to a lack of knowledge of the injection-techniques, a third inconvenient was revealed: the reticence of the nurses in practicing


injections perceived as massive. It is anyway bizar-re to realise that highly qualified and able nurses, were reticent in doing such injections but were ok with 500ml or 1l physiologic water perfusions. We are clearly in presence of a 50ml syringe that may puzzle us, but it is pretty simple to leave the needle there and recharge a smaller one. Plus, the swelling starts reducing in a couple of ours. We did not ex-perience any other accidents with this method we believe to be riskless and not dangerous. It is useful to point out that this means that this technique is to be banished in case of patients affected by saline retention (oedema, cirrhosis, renal or cardiovascu-lar) as well as possible anticoagulation treatments.Let us end this clinic dissertation with some obser-vations which stroked us:Miss H – 16ys. From the first injection (30ml), itching rash on all plaques appeared after angina. This lasted 3 days, after that the elements decrease and disappear completely.Miss K – 28ys. Visited four times in a year for a pso-riasis that had been there since she was 18, mainly during spring time, with triamcinolone, sulphurs and arsenic failure, as well as the failure of the tre-atment with Alphosyl. Bleaching in 5 weeks with 12 30ml and 2 50ml phials.Mr L – 40ys. Covered by a spring psoriasis appea-red after a RAA crisis, 5ys before. The observation lasted two years and allowed the achieving of a complete bleaching.Mr B – 60ys and Mr D – 58 ys, having tried suc-cessfully our therapies, have been recurring to this kind of treatment for 3ys, though 3 months-tre-atments / 12 50ml phials, which according to them gave them peace, despite our warning for possible hydro saline retention. Mr W – 50ys, affected by generalised psoriasis for 25 ys, disappears every month from the beginning of his treatments, 2ys ago.Before concluding, let us try to give a synthesis ba-sed on these 110 cases:1. this method is certainly not worse than others in treating an extensive psoriasis;2. we cannot ignore the 25% of good results, to which we should add then 19% of average, yet suc-cessful, results, when it comes to generalised pso-riasis, regardless of its cause;3. the lack of scientific explanation of this method with seawater injections is not a valid argument to refuse this treatment, being compensate by its being riskless;4. at the harmless feature of the therapy, we should add an easy employment, provided you introduce the plasma in the cellular soft tissue of the abdomi-nal epidermis.

Briefly, if the time of Oratius “gaudemus igitus”,

has not come yet as far as therapy is concerned it is necessary to give an important place to Dr Quin-ton’s Plasma injections, and we will conclude on the fact that in a 110 cases series, we obtained a 56% of successes vs ???. In 1977, waiting for con-clusions, and maybe the light of the following rese-arches, we cannot but be satisfied with this therapy that leads to better results , provided the total lack of iatrogeny to which we can add an easy accepta-tion from the psoriatic subjects.To conclude with this short monographic research, surely necessary for all those who use or are about to use this polyvalent medicine, we wish the best therapeutic success, assured by our experience ac-quired during decades of work and research.This is why we think it is necessary to point out the applications the Plasma finds in derma-cosmetics and other peculiar applications.
