RECRUITMENT

ISSUE-

DISCRIMINIATION

CHILD LABOUR Child labor is a very complex problem with its root in the socio-

economic environment of the country.

It stems from poverty, lack of education and health facilities and better

avenues of employment.

The children are recruited on very small wages, regardless of their

health and safety care.

They cost cheep labor than an adult, and also are needy.

WOMEN RIGHTS The rights of women are neglected in workplace, while recruitment

they are treated as they cannot do the job perfectly.

They are considered as a common victim for everyone to stare them.

Treating them as a for granted.

Underestimating their abilities and skills while recruitment.

HUMAN RIGHTS Human rights are neglected in all aspects while recruitment in a firm.

Interested candidates who are called for job interview, they are not

even provided a proper place to sit, drinking water, etc.

GENDER INEQUALITY IN WORK PLACE

Women participation rate in labour force in Pakistan is only 28 percent.

Job offers and hiring based on gender.

Sexual Harassment.

Not Equally Paid.

RACE, CAST, CULTURE (RACIAL DISCRIMINATION) The applicant is further more discriminated by being biased to any

specific race, cast or religion while recruitment.

He/ She is not judged on the basis of abilities and skills.

Mostly it happens in “Seth Culture” organization in Pakistan.

VICTIMIZATION

Discriminate someone because he/she complains about

discrimination while recruitment.

RELIGION Discriminate in favor of those who belong to a specific religion when recruiting. When considering individuals for promotion or transfer, or in dismissal.

CAUSES OF

DISCRIMINATION

WORKPLACE DISCRIMINATION

Gender discrimination is caused by the sense that certain occupations

are a 'man's job' or a 'woman's job'. While there are laws against this type

of discrimination, it is still often a determining factor when hiring

someone.

HUMAN RIGHTS

PHYSICAL FACTOROften because women are physically weaker than men, they are more

easily abused and discriminated against men.

SOLUTIONS FOR

DISCRIMINATION IN

RECRUTMENT

Several state and federal laws prohibit gender discrimination and offer

remedies for such behavior in employment as well as in education and

financial institutions.

The Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex.

The Equal Pay Act promotes equality between men and women who

perform the same job duties in the same workplace.

Diversity and inclusion policies also help to remedy gender

discrimination by promoting equality between the sexes.

SOLUTIONS

Open door policy should be implemented in workplace that employees

are free to discuss about pregnancy issues and the issues that are

directly related to some specific gender.
