Online Solutions: Making eCommerce Easier

PARTS eStore – Open Now!GE Hitachi has created an online solution which gives customers access to critical information for over 37,000 parts, eliminating the need to request a quote for many of these parts. The PARTS eStore offers customers 24/7 access to part numbers and descriptions, obsolescence/substitute information, lead times, and pricing information, including quantity discounts. Customers are able to initiate RFQs through the system if pricing or lead times are not available online. This online solution provides more transparency to part information and shortens average quote cycle times for our customers, making it easier to do business with GEH. PQCs: Electronic Signatures GEH now utilizes “e-Signatures” when signing most Product Quality Certificates (PQCs). These are used in place of the manual signatures that were used in the past. The process works as follows: First, GEH initiates an electronic workflow to capture the required quality information from the Purchase Order. After the information is entered into the workflow, it is routed to all necessary parties for approval. Once approved, the PQC is generated automatically, and the system inserts the final approver’s name and date, which becomes the official e-Signature. This new process alleviates unclear and hard-to-read documents caused by multiple parties printing, signing and scanning, and it ultimately results Continued...

New and Improved: Product and Services Success Stories

Mechanical: Spent Fuel Pool Gates Have your site’s Spent Fuel Pool Gates been checked for leaks? Spent Fuel Pool Gates undergo extreme pressure and are susceptible to handling damage. Weld repairs can be difficult due to the aluminum composition of the gates; therefore, the best option, in some cases, is replacement. GE Hitachi PARTS successfully supplied replacement Spent Fuel Pool Gates to both the Dresden and Quad Cities sites recently. GEH performs thorough post-production checks and testing, including a high-pressure test, to help ensure quality and functionality.
