are aligned to your interests• For example, if you are interested in design, you could

list down the design courses offered by the polytechnics, such as the Diploma in Animation, offered by NP or Diploma in Sonic Arts, offered by RP. You can also consider courses offered by ITE such as the Higher Nitec in Interactive Design or the Higher Nitec in Visual Effects.

Length of study:

JCs – 2 years

MI – 3 years

Cut-off Points:

To enter a JC:L1R5 must be <= 20

To enter MI:L1R4 must be <= 20

Students must also qualify for the minimum entry requirements (MER) for

the course they want to pursue

ELR2B2 (*26 points or better)is used for admissions into the Polytechnics.

The various Polytechnics courses are categorised into four Aggregate Types (i.e. ELR2B2- A, ELR2B2-B, ELR2B2-C and ELR2B2-D) and can be found in the JAE booklet.

Points to take note (Suggested thinking process)

(1) Use ALL your 12 JAE choices carefully(2) Your top 4 choices (1-4) should be what you are passionate about. Your

aggregate score should be close or below the courses’ last aggregate scores for previous year.

(3) Your middle 4 choices (5-8) should be what you are comfortable and able to do. Your aggregate score should be equal or below the courses’ last aggregate scores for previous year.

(4) Your final 4 choices (9-12) should be what you do not mind doing. Your aggregate score clearly meet the criteria required.

• How do I check for my JAE appeals outcome? • You will be informed of your appeal outcome

through the online appeals portal, as well as through SMS notifications

• Look out for your appeal outcome, and consider the course your were posted to carefully

• From 2019, if you did not receive a posting by the end of JAE appeals, you will be offered an alternative course as an additional option

• If you are offered an alternative posting, do accept it and give it a try, as it will give you a chance to continue your studies

• Can I still appeal after the end of JAE appeals?

• You can still appeal directly to the polytechnics and ITE directly for courses that you are interested in

• You can do this even if you have accepted the posting offered through JAE appeals

JAE Instructions • All applications must be submitted online through JAE

Internet System (JAE-IS) from 3.00 pm on 14 January 2019 (Monday) to 4.00 pm on 18 January 2019 (Friday).

• The JAE pin can be found in Form A which will beissued to you together with your results slip.

• Please refer to the JAE Booklet you received fromyour FTs last year for more information.

• Students who need to assess through schoolcomputers will need to approach the General Officestaff within the same time-frame.

JAE Instructions • All students successfully admitted to a school through

the Direct School Admission-JC (DSA-JC) Exercise / Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise (Poly EAE) / ITE Early Admissions Exercise (ITE EAE) will not be able to participate in the JAE.

• Successful DSA-JC and Poly EAE students will receive their Form A that indicate the school they have been admitted to.

• Successful ITE EAE students will be informed by ITE.

JAE Instructions • You are advised to exercise all 12 options in JAE.

• You are advised to print and retain a copy of the Verification slip for your record after you have submitted your application online.

Pathways for the 4E / 5NA studentsRepeat Secondary 4E / 5NA

• Obtained no more than 2 GCE O-Level passes and an aggregate of 44 points or less in 5 subjects or

• Obtained 3 or more GCE O-Level passes but do not qualify for admission to Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute or Polytechnics

• Have only taken the GCE ‘O’ Levels ONCE• Not more than 4 years overaged (Singapore citizen) and not

more than 2 years overaged (International student)

• Apply for ITE (Higher Nitec OR Nitec) Courses to maximise your options.• Collect the REPEAT PINK form from the back of the school hall. • Call the General Office (65729100) before 15 Jan (Tuesday) to make an

appointment to meet the Vice-Principal, Ms Wong. At the meeting, you MUST submit the PINK application form, your ITE course submission and relevant documents. Please attend the meeting with your parents.

• Appointment schedule: 16 Jan (Wednesday) from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm

Administrative Matters

• Candidates who wish to review their GCE ‘O’ LevelExamination results must submit their appeals to theschool by Wednesday, 16 January, 12:00 noon.

• The appeal fee per subject will be $112.35.

Other administrative matters

• Candidates who wish to made amendments totheir certificates must submit their appeals tothe school by Friday, 26 April 2019, 5:00 pm.

• The appeal fee per certificate will be $50.
