This month we had a meeting at Win Chevrolet followed by pizza, beer and one salad (Jennifer’s) at Shakey’s Pizza.

April was the month of the Vette Set’s annual car show, “All GM Beach Classic,” which was at Ruby’s Diner in Redondo Beach on the 28th. How was it you ask? Best ever!

The merry month of May is the time of Jack Walter’’s May Madness, a two day event of his Monday Driver’s Club. Jack found so many things to see and do, that it took two days: Sunday and Monday (May 6 & 7).

Corvette Announces Two New ColorsAt the Michelin NCM Bash the GM Corvette team shared samples of the two new 2019 Corvette colors. Replacing Watkins Glen Gray is Shadow Gray, and replacing Admiral Blue is Elkhart Blue.

The team also announced the last date to order the current colors, and when ordering will begin for the new colors. Find out all the details on the NCM website.

Our “All GM Beach Classic” was GREAT. The Car Show planning Committee did an outstanding job of organizing the team and volunteers, contacting vendors, sponsors and distributing Show flyers. The Team Leaders had all team members prepared for their jobs. The Day-of- Show volunteers stepped up and got the job done. We THANK our members for their time and a job well done.

I’d like to especially thank Linda Glazafor a magnificent job putting together the raffle, silent auction, stuffing 200 goodie bags and getting every-thing to the Show, setting it up and executing.

For your information we had over 200 raffle prizes given out over a 4 hour period, very remarkable. We had 39 silent auction items and all were sold at bargain bids. The look of the raffle and silent auction booths were outstanding, something to be proud of.

I received many Thank You’s from participants, both at the show and after. All said it was a GREAT Show and many added that it was done very professionally and will be back next year.

to Veterans/needy students enrolled in automotive curricula. Funds to The Boys and Girls Club of Carson will be directed to Robert Roach, a teacher at Carson HS. He will use the money to support a Saturday auto club composed of kids with a car interest.

At the May club meeting, Chuck asked our new member, Morley, to draw a name. Adele’s name was chosen, but since she was not present, the name badge drawing will be increased to $40 next month.

50/50 DRAWINGS May Monthly MeetingYvonne & Reata collected $220. Reata asked our guest, Bob Borge, to draw a ticket. Gary Gaffney’s name was drawn, so half ($110) went to Gary and the other half went to the club.

POST CAR SHOW DRAWINGS Gary drew Jennifer’s for a chair, Jennifer drew Gloria’s name for a wine basket, Gloria drew Donna’s name for a Mothers spray bottle, Donna drew Yvonne’s name for a hat and 17” wiper blades, Yvonne drew George B’s name for a poster, and George drew Dixie’s name for cans of Red Bull.

My name is John Noel, I am a representative of The Vette Set car club. I wanted to send along a notice to commend your following personnel for their exemplary conduct in coordinating and conducting the Color Guard for our annual car show at Ruby's Diner in Redondo Beach on April 28th 2018:
