Inside you can trace the beginnings of Mercury Marine, learn about the secret testing facility in Florida, see dozens of motors and even the company’s venture into the snowmobile business. Admission is $1 per person or $5 for a family. 28 – Warrens - “Crane-berry Blossoms” and Baby Bison at Blossom Fest Early European immigrants in Wisconsin saw delicate pink blossoms in the bogs that resembled the heads of cranes, so they called the tart, red fruits “crane berries.” Today, of course, that has become “cranberries.” On June 28 get a look at the beautiful blooming vines at the festival that celebrates “crane-berry” blossom season. The Wetherby marsh has free tours 9 to 11 a.m. and a grower will share cranberry country facts. Now – through August – Sheboygan Making Art at the Factory - Collaboration and Revelation at Kohler Forty years ago the Kohler Company of Kohler, Wisconsin, launched a new program to allow working artists access to the industrial machinery and resources of the company best known worldwide for top-quality bathroom fixtures. Artists were able to create entirely new bodies of work that would have been difficult if not impossible to make in their studios. Now the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan is displaying some 350 fine examples of the collaborative works created by more than five hundred artists-in-residence.
