EZ Fit Liners

Garmont’s ground-breaking EZ Fit liners are, hands down, the best liners on the market. They are comfortable out of the box, and are 100% thermoformable for those who prefer more customization. No other liner on the market offers the Instant Comfort of the best traditional liner with 100% thermoformability in a closed convection oven.

Garmont offers three liner models, each in Men’s- and Women’s-specific fit, using the innovative EZ Fit design: the original EZ Fit in the Freeride boots, the new EZ Fit PowerLite in the new PowerLite boots, and the new EZ Fit Rapid in select PowerWrap Ski Mountaineering Boots.

• EZ Fits can be thermoformed at your Garmont retailer using a closed convection oven, the most effective thermoforming system, while comparable liners can be damaged in a closed convection oven. The EZ Fit’s unique construction requires only half the normal thermoforming time, ≤ 6 minutes at ≤120 °C., making the thermoforming process particularly quick and easy.

• The liner’s foot uses three thicknesses, densities, and compositions of foam for different functions. The rear foot uses the thickest, highest-density foam for maximum heel hold.

This “Stability Zone” has the least amount of EVA so that it retains its thickness. In combination with this very stable foam is a built-in “butterfly”, like custom bootfitters use, to comfortably secure the heel, ankle, and Achilles’ area. The mid-foot uses a softer foam, with more EVA, so that it conforms to the most sensitive part of the foot, bunions, and bone spurs. The toe area uses a thinner foam with the most EVA for conformability, warmth, and wiggling comfort. The liner’s inner sole is a super high-density foam with a minimum of EVA to retain its thickness and support under pressure.

• The EZ Fit is fully lined to eliminate seams and hard spots.

• The moccasin toe maximizes shell space for warmth and comfort.

• The highly-reinforced tongue uses Garmont’s T-Bar reinforcement for shin protection and power.

• The cuff is extra-stiff rearward to keep you out of the back seat.

• The low-profile lace system offers the lacing option for touring.

• Two loops facilitate entry, and carrying the boots. • The dual-density anatomic footbed is warm and

supportive.

G-Fit Light Liners

The G-Fit Light Liner is offered in the Masterlite and Literider. Its features include:

• The G-Fit Light Liner employs dual-density foam that is softer next to your foot for maximum comfort, firmer next to the shell for support and a long-lasting custom fit.

• It now has a low-profile, superlight lacing system that closes securely around the leg and instep for comfort and security.

• Its toe insert uses a new material that is especially soft and elastic for comfort and warmth.

• The tongue has additional reinforcement that distributes pressure for comfort and support.

• An abrasion-resistant material has been added to the Achilles’ area.

5

Zeta Liners

Zeta Pro Liners, offered in the Alpine Performance boots, were designed with innovative features that make them the most comfortable, highest-performance alpine liners available. These features include:

• A supple outer skin that conforms comfortably to the foot and maximizes the anatomic shape of the shells.

• Tongues are reinforced with anatomic Pebax® reinforcement to disperse pressure for shin comfort and power.

• Dual loops facilitate entry, exit, and carrying the boots. • To accommodate different leg shapes the G_1 130, 150, and G_2 110 have a Velcro-

attached spoiler that can be easily and securely adjusted.

In addition to all of the Zeta Pro features, the Zeta Race liners include:

• A supple, durable Lorca® outer skin.• A Velcro®-attached tongue is easily adjustable to achieve most precise, anatomic fit

against the ankle and shin.• The liner foam’s gel component adapts closely and comfortably to the foot.• A low-profile lacing option for those who prefer the close fit of a lace-up liner.

Pad-Lock Liners

Pad-Lock Liners, offered in specific PowerWrap and tongue-design ski mountaineering boots, have all of the performance and comfort advantages of a traditional liner and, in addition, are one of the lightest liners on the market. Superb fit and features with light weight.

• Durable outer skin for maximum abrasion resistance• Cropped pile lining has a soft, warm feel.• The best EVA foams are used for warmth, support, and comfort.• The plastic-reinforced tongue distributes pressure both for shin protection and skiing

performance. • Double pull-loops facilitate easy entry and exit, and carrying the boots. • The low-profile lacing system is positioned so that it does not inhibit circulation. • The rubber sole is appropriate for hut wear.

We offer a wide range of boots that can satisfy every ski mountaineer’s particular passions, whether it’s climbing for the descent, classic alpine hut trips, or go-fast touring. We test every model extensively for every kind of skiing because we do not believe that boots should be so specialized that they sacrifice versatility. It is our requirement that all Garmont boots in the different categories of ski mountaineering perform admirably in all of the unpredictable conditions encountered in the high mountains, regardless of the tour or terrain, uphill or downhill.

Our extensive line of Ski Mountaineering Boots includes the new lightweight, high-performance PowerLight models for all-around ski mountaineering, Ultra-Light Webframe boots for go-fast ski touring and recreational racing, the easy-walking, solid-skiing PowerWrap models for demanding downhill tours, and the classic tongue-design models for ease-of-use and comfort on classic hut trips.

The lightest 4-buckle boot in the world. Instant comfort. Easy walking with powerful skiing performance. The ski mountain-eer’s dream.

PowerLite 4-buckle and 3-buckle ski mountaineering boots make no compromise in skiing performance for their incredibly light weight. Inspired by the strengths of the award-winning, high-performance Radium and superlight Webframe series boots, PowerLite brings super light weight to high-performance skiing. We agonized over every gram to accomplish these rarified weights that almost approach the racing category, yet never compromised their everyday ease of use, comfort, and superior skiing performance. Very ergonomic and easy to use, these boots don’t just ski well for their feather weight, they ski incredibly well, period.

• Ultralight with high performance. PowerLite boots deliver precise, solid, secure skiing performance with their superlight, stiff, supportive Grilamid® shell.

• Instant comfort with highly-refined, pre-punched shell “forma” and EZ Fit PowerLite liner. EZ Fit liners are very comfortable out of the box, or are 100% thermoformable if the skier prefers more customization.

• These boots are made for walking with huge range of motion, a full-length rubber sole for rocky terrain, and expanded PU inserts in the sole for insulation, comfort, and increased ski feel.

PowerLite boots offer the light weight critical to easy touring on long, go-fast routes, with the skiing performance required to negotiate and enjoy the most difficult descents.

Mechanics

• Magnesium and Ergal Micro-adjustable Buckles, give minimum weight and maximum durability, and use Garmont’s Wide Open design that maximizes travel between open and closed.

• EZ Open Buckle Straps are very easy to manage, hinging out of the way for quick, easy, wide-open en-try and exit.

• EZ Lock Buckle Catches hold the cuff buckles in place while walking.

• The ultralight, streamlined walk mechanism is re-cessed into the cuff to protect it against damage.

• The Adjustable Forward Lean on the 4-buckle mod-els allows the skier to customize the forward lean with two easily-adjustable positions. Once adjusted, one flip of the lever changes modes from walk to ski without searching for the right position.

• An Asymmetric Spoiler on men’s models provides medial and rearward support.

• The Ergonomic Tongue attachment is elegant, low-profile, and streamlined.

The shell

• PowerLite boots are built from Grilamid®, very light and stiff, the perfect material for a thinner, light-weight shell.

• Full-length Vibram® bi-density rubber ski moun-taineering sole covers the instep area for maximum grip when scrambling over rocks. Bi-density com-position uses black, firmer rubber around the sole’s perimeter for durability and for superior edging pow-er in step-in bindings. Softer red rubber in the sole’s midsection provides maximum grip.

• Shock Damper Inserts are expanded PU inserts in the shell’s inner sole that act as a shock absorber when skiing, add insulation, comfort, and increased ski feel.

• The PowerLite Frame, inspired by our Webframe design, uses reinforcing ribs throughout the shell and cuff to give maximum rigidity while maintaining incredibly light weight.

• The new EZ Fit PowerLite Liner provides Instant Comfort out of the box. These are the best liners in the world. They are comfortable without thermofor-ming, but are 100% thermoformable for those who wish further customization. The liner’s exterior uses a bi-elastic skin with Lycra® for durability and the most ergonomic fit.

For extended tours that demand performance, this is the best boot in the Cosmos. Cosmos is a word generally used as a synonym for the orderly Universe, defined as an orderly or harmonious system. Garmont’s new Cosmos is just that, a 4-buckle boot that achieves harmony between the key needs of the ski mountaineer: very light weight and 4-buckle perfor-mance. Harmony between two seeming opposites: superior tourability and superior skiability. The Cosmos brings lightweight boots’ skiing perfor-mance to its highest level. These are the perfect performance boots for big tours with their very anatomical last, superior Instant Comfort EZ Fit liner, Shock Damper Shell Inserts that provide comfort, warmth, and ski feel, and the easy walking of big, friction-free cuff rotation.

The star of the cosmos, the Celeste is born from the same mold, a wom-en’s-specific 4-buckle boot that achieves harmony between very light weight and crisp 4-buckle performance. Again, harmony between two seeming opposites: superior tourability and superior skiability. The Celeste is flexed specifically for lighter-weight skiers. Its women’s-specific liner is Garmont’s unique EZ Fit design that fits right out of the box, and is 100% thermoformable for those who prefer more customization. This is the ideal women’s touring boot: lightweight, perfectly-balanced between excellent tourability and confident, snappy skiing performance.

Garmont’s Masterlite and Literider represent the lightest side of performance. Enjoy the freedom to climb fast and light, with uncompromising control on the down. These boots define a category of boots that does not abandon downhill control to achieve their ultra-light weight.

Liberating lightness.

We started with a study of the forces exerted on a ski boot during both climbing and skiing. We lightened the boot wherever possible, reinforcing areas of stress to maintain solid performance. The result is a unique spider-web-like structure, the Garmont WebFrame, a design that reduces the shell to the critical elements that maintain a solid structure with ultra-light weight.

The Masterlite and Literider’s sole structure is stiff, springy, and supportive. Expanded Polyurethene internal inserts add cushion and insulation underfoot.

The sole structure’s torsional rigidity is superior to bellows systems for the edge control, binding function, and the downhill performance crucial to ski mountaineering. The sole’s solid platform has a rebound to aid striding onto your front ski, keeping your hips high and moving forward for the longest stride. With this sole design you can achieve a longer stride than a flexible sole, which drops your hips down and back as you flex the bellows.

The sole footprint is an exclusively Tech-compatible shape to optimize the binding’s pivot point, moving it 3mm rearward for a longer, more natural stride. This shape also reduces overhang for easier booting up, rock scrambling and, of course, lighter weight.

The Fast-Action buckle system is quick and easy to change modes from walk to ski.

Effortless walking, comfort, and solid skiing performance make our Webframe boots the perfect choice for those who go fast and light.

16

Page 19: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

The shell

• The unique spider-web-like structure, the Gar-mont Webframe, reduces the shell to its critical ele-ments that maintain a solid structure with ultra-light weight.

• The lower shell uses an overlap design that allows the cuff and lower shell to move more independently than a tongue design for easy walking freedom and, when buckled, maximum downhill control.

• The sole footprint is exclusively Tech-compatible, with the binding’s pivot point moved 3mm rearward for a longer, more natural stride. This shape reduces overhang for easier booting up, rock scrambling, and lighter weight.

Liners

• The ultra-light, fully-thermoformable G-Fit Light liner has a low-profile, superlight lacing system that closes securely around the leg and instep for com-fort and security. The toe insert uses a new mate-rial that is especially soft and elastic for comfort and warmth. The tongue has additional reinforcement that distributes pressure for comfort and support. An abrasion-resistant material has been added to the Achilles’ area. The G-Fit Light liner employs a dual-density foam that is softer next to your foot for maximum comfort, firmer next to the shell for sup-port and a long-lasting custom fit.

• Both the Masterlite and Literider are offered with the option of an ultra-light, Pad-Lock Light traditional liner.

Mechanics

• The easy-to-use Fast-Action Cuff Buckle has twice the travel of a traditional buckle. One quick move-ment either opens the cuff for long, uninhibited strides, or buckles it down securely for the descent. The lightweight cuff catch has curved teeth and a locking lever. Once it is set, it stays set through lock-ing and unlocking the cuff buckle for quick and easy uphill and downhill transitions.

• The Micro-Adjustable Instep Buckle is positioned to be most effective in closing the lower shell and securing the instep.

• The walk mechanism is fast and easy, and can be locked or released in one quick, easy motion.

• Buckles are field-replaceable.

Garmont’s PowerWrap overlap ski mountaineering boots have set a new standard in ski mountaineering boots. Their unique overlap more closely follows the anatomy of the foot and lower leg for crisp, precise downhill performance, while cradling it comfortably and securely for touring comfort.

The unique overlap design eliminates the restrictive tongue to allow more independent movement between the cuff and lower shell. That means better walking, climbing, and skinning, with a progressive downhill flex. These boots’ balanced design provides the best of all worlds: light and comfortable on the tour, formidable on the descent.

The PowerWrap overlap design follows the contours of the foot and ankle closely for lightning-fast response and comfort. No other Ski Mountaineering boot wraps the foot so intimately and comfortably, which such solid downhill performance.

The High Overlap panel spreads contact evenly over the tibia for a progressive forward flex and the quickest, most responsive ski control. 4-buckle models don’t sacrifice shin comfort for their superior downhill performance, while the 3-buckle models ski like 4-buckle boots, a big advancement in 3-buckle performance.

Comfortable, easy-walking, with incredible skiing performance—PowerWrap Ski Mountaineering boots are the best all-around AT boots for classic ski tours as well as freeride-touring.

PowerWrap Ski Mountaineering shells’ fit has evolved for maximum comfort, including a roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. This year that comfort is maximized with the new EZ Fit liner, Instant Comfort out of the box, 100% thermoformable for those who prefer a more customized fit.

20

Page 23: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

Mechanics

• Wide-Open Buckles and EZ Lock catches work flawlessly for easier, unrestricted touring. The Wide-Open’s levers are designed with an off-center pivot that opens as wide as possible while they are held securely by the EZ Lock buckle catches.

• The Velcro® Power Strap is wide for a secure closure and broad, powerful pressure distribution. It wraps securely around the outside of the cuff to bring the cuff as close as possible to the lower leg.

• Cuff buckle catches are moveable to custom-fit dif-ferent sizes of lower legs.

• Buckles are field-replaceable.

• Bomber walk mechanism is clean, simple, and solid.

• Two-Step inside ankle rivet is stepped with two di-ameters to prevent pinching and binding of the cuff and excess wear on the rivet when in walk mode.

• Men’s models have a height-adjustable spoiler to accommodate different leg shapes for maximum rearward support and contact.

Liners

• New EZ Fit Rapid liners are comfortable out of the box. These are the best liners in the world. They are 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit. See page 4 for further details.

• Pad-Lock Liners, offered in specific PowerWrap and tongue-design ski mountaineering boots, have all of the performance and comfort advantages of a traditional liner and, in addition, are one of the lightest liners on the market. Superb fit and features with light weight.

The shell

• PowerWrap shells were developed around the foot, a custom-bootfitter fit right out of the box. Their molds are shaped to provide more room for the first meta-tarsal, room for the “6th toe”, room for the navicular bone, asymmetric malleoli that match the body’s natural asymmetry, and a deep, supportive heel cup with space for common heel spurs. Toe width and height have been increased for an even more com-fortable fit.

• The High Overlap’s Flex Insert is a separate injec-tion that allows it to move with you for easy walking. This multi-injected flex insert is tuned specifically for different models’ intended use and performance. With no tongue that must be flexed backwards with each step, the lower shell and cuff can operate more independently for improved walking freedom and comfort.

• Easy Entry: The high, supportive High Overlap pro-vides a “handle” that can be spread for very easy en-try

• The soft, silicone-like Water Seal gasket between the shell’s overlap seals out snow and moisture. An additional rubber dam has been added behind the overlap for an even tighter seal.

• Multi-injected “bumpers” protect the buckles and lower shell.

• The Rapid Outsole is designed for maximum grip, with the proper contact area as determined by the ISO norm for the best step-in binding function. The sole has self-cleaning lugs. Its unique rubber com-pound is grippy yet highly durable, with the maxi-mum toe thickness allowed within the ISO Norm for longevity. It extends under the instep for protection and grip when rock scrambling.

Designed on the Radium platform, the Luster is the highest-performance women’s ski-mountaineering boot available, period. It is our first choice for extended tours with demanding downhill terrain. Like it’s cousin, the Radium, it is the best of both worlds, light and easy-walking for the long tours, yet as stiff and high-performance as an alpine boot The Luster’s responsive multi-injected lower shell and cuff are built from Pebax® for the lightest weight and least temperature sensitivity. It has a sweet, progressive flex that has been fine-tuned for lighter-weight skiers. Like the Radium, through the years we have continued to tweak and improve the Luster. Its fit has evolved with a roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. We added a rubber dam under the overlap for a better seal against snow entry. This year we are offering the Luster with our new, women’s-specific, fully-thermoformable, EZ Fit Rapid W Liners. Instant comfort out of the box.

The Radium is the go-to all-around ski mountaineering boot. Recently voted Backcountry Magazine’s editor’s choice, for the second time, the Radium is hands down the best-skiing true ski mountaineering boot on the market. Quoted by one tester “Solid touring and ski mountaineering option, but capable of ripping around the resort”. It’s the favorite of our athletes like Chris Davenport, chosen for its mobility, light weight, and superior skiing performance on the most challenging descents. We have continued to tweak and improve the superior Radium. Its fit has evolved with a roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. We added a rubber dam under the overlap for a better seal against snow entry. This season we are offering the Radium with our new, fully-thermoformable EZ Fit Rapid Liners. Burly enough to rip the toughest terrain and conditions on big skis, the Shogun is still light enough for extended tours. It is TECH compatible for maximum versatility whether touring or skiing the resort. Like the Radium, it is flexed for performance. Its multi-injected lower shell has a unique flex insert for touring ease, multi-injected cuff for a close, responsive fit with awesome leverage. The Shogun has the same evolved fit as the Radium with its roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. It gets the same rubber dam under the overlap for a better seal against snow entry. Its buckles have been improved with our redesigned Freeride buckles. This year we are offering the Shogun with our new, fully-thermoformable, EZ Fit Rapid Liners. Instant Comfort out of the box.

The women’s-specific Hydra, like its sibling the Shogun, has Tech fittings for maximum binding compatibility in a streamlined, high-performance women’s boot. Its multi-injected lower shell has a unique flex insert for touring ease, while its multi-injected cuff gives a close, responsive fit with awesome leverage. Fine tuned for lighter-weight skiers, it is burly enough to rip the toughest terrain and conditions on big skis, light enough for extended tours. The Hydra has the same evolved fit as the Luster with its roomier toe, wider forefoot, and narrower heel. It gets the same rubber dam under the overlap for a better seal against snow entry. Its buckles have been improved with our redesigned Freeride buckles. And most importantly, this year we are offering the Hydra with our new, fully-thermoformable EZ Fit Rapid W Liners. Garmont’s Adrenalin, launched in 2004, was the world’s first high-performance alpine freeride boot built with the walk-ability of a ski mountaineering boot. It redefined the expectations of freeride, side-country, and backcountry skiers. Since the Adrenalin’s launch, Garmont Freeride Boots have remained the choice for the more adventurous and often self-propelled alpine freeriders, ski patrollers, and alpine professionals—anyone who boots up or climbs with skins to access steep and difficult terrain, and requires alpine-boot performance for the descent.

In 2011 Garmont introduced the next generation of Freeride with the PowerFrame Freeride Boots. These remarkable boots boast Garmont’s unique High Overlap design for even greater downhill performance and touring mobility. The PowerFrame Freeride Boots, once again, redefined what is possible in freeride skiing, offering race-boot performance, touring-boot comfort, with the versatility of interchangeable binding norms.

PowerFrame Freeride Boots were inspired by the Radium with its unique High Overlap shell design. This one-piece overlap—the PowerFrame—cradles the foot and lower leg comfortably and closely for lightning-fast race-boot response. The overlap is a seamless part of the shell, with no tongues or riveted-on pieces that flex, create gaps, and dissipate energy. The overlap improves touring as well, rotating naturally out of the way when walking to allow more freedom of movement than any tongue design.

The PowerFrame shell structure has superior lateral and torsional rigidity with a solid, progressive forward flex. Its “forma” is pre-punched to accurately follow the foot’s anatomy and accommodate the bunions and bone spurs so prevalent with skier’s feet.

The EZ Fit Liners are the first liners that combine the off-the-shelf fit and stiff support of a traditional liner, with the potential for customization of a 100%-thermoformable liner. These liners are very comfortable out of the box, or they can be thermoformed if the skier prefers more customization.

With Quick-Change easily-interchangeable soles, PowerFrame Boots are compatible with the 3 fixed-heel binding norms: ISO Alpine, ISO Touring (UNI), and Tech.

Adjustable Forward Lean: PowerFrame’s bomber Easy³ Magnesium Ski/Walk Mechanism has 3 forward lean positions, easily adjusted by loosening only one bolt.

For the serious freeride, sidecountry, and off-piste skier, these are the only boots that you need. PowerFrame boots give real alpine-boot performance in a comfortable, walkable package.

Page 30: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

The shell

• Lasted for maximum comfort with the highest precision: The PowerFrame Free-ride’s “forma”, or last, was developed with an ample forefoot and a secure heel. The multi-injected internal “pod” was developed with cutouts to give relief to the vulnerable areas inevitable with skiers’ feet: the navicular bone, first metatarsal, fifth and “sixth” metatarsals.

• Multi-injected construction, using Selected Technical Polymers (both PU and Pebax®) provide the most damp, solid, “alpine boot” feel. The multi-injected in-sert inside each shell allows us to isolate the most sensitive areas of the foot so that we can most accurately follow the foot’s anatomy, and accommodate the bunions and bone spurs so prevalent with skier’s feet. The insert is a stiffer “pod” that surrounds the foot to provide incredible lateral leverage without inhibiting the shell’s forward flex. Freeride cuffs are multi-injected with a very stiff frame for maximum lateral and rearward support, while the softer over-lap wraps the leg more closely for instant response.

• High Overlap: The High Overlap, like the Radium’s, provides remarkable leverage, with perfect power transfer to the medial mid-foot - exactly where you need it to arc and control today’s big skis.

• The Water Dam and Water Seal gasket work together to seal out snow and keep your feet dry. Two separately-injected, softer PU components, they work together in different planes to better conform to the shell’s opening and provide the best seal.

The Liner

• The EZ Fit liner does it all: The EZ Fit Liner is the first liner on the market that is a true hybrid combining the out-of-the-box comfort and performance of the best traditional liner and the made-to-measure customization of a 100%-thermoformable liner. This is the best liner on the market. See page 4 for more liner details.

28

Page 31: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

The Soles

• Quick-Change Sole Sets and binding norms: For the most versatility our Freeride boots have two Quick-Change sole sets that are compatible with all 3 bind-ing norms. The Alpine Sole Set is compatible with the ISO Alpine Norm. The optional Touring Sole Set is compatible with the ISO Touring Norm (UNI) and the Tech Norm. It has a Vibram® outsole specially-formulated for cold-weather grip and durability, and for torsional support during hard edging. These soles can be changed in a flash, snapping securely into place, and fixed with only three hex bolts per boot. No other manufacturer has such easily-inter-changeable soles.

Mechanics

• The bomber Easy³ Magnesium Ski/Walk Mecha-nism has 3 forward lean positions that can be quickly and precisely adjusted with one hex bolt. Like the Radium’s walk mechanism, the sturdy Easy³ is designed for simple disassembly and servicing. Its asymmetric lever’s ergonomic design makes it easy to open and close with gloves. Adjust the mechanism to your lean preference and, when skiing, you can click into the right position easily without searching for your choice.

• Garmont TECH INSERTS: Our TECH insert signifi-cantly improves upon the current industry standard for durability and quality control . These GARMONT TECH INSERTS have reinforcement ribs for addition-al tensile strength, with oval holes that pass more plastic during the injection process for maximum strength. The retention cones have been designed for friction-free rotation when walking, while allow-ing maximum binding retention in ski mode.

• Lightweight, strong, Magnesium FR buckles: The Magnesium FR buckles are low-profile, light, and easy to operate with gloves. Their asymmetric design keeps a low-profile without sacrificing ease of use. Buckles are field-replaceable.

• EZ Lock Catches: First developed for the Radium, the EZ Lock buckle catches on the cuff keep the buckles in place when hiking.

• Men’s models have an adjustable spoiler for opti-mum lower-leg fit and additional forward lean ad-justment.

The Delirium’s significant other, the Asylum gives the aggressive female skier a secure sanctuary in the most challenging ski conditions. Stiff, yet flexed very slightly softer than the Delirium to suit lighter-weight skiers. The Asylum enjoys the double-injected, stiff internal “pod” that embraces your foot in solid comfort and links seamlessly to the outer frame for solid, precise torsional control. The Asylum closes with lightweight, strong, elegant Magnesium FR buckles. The Asylum is women’s-lasted with a Women’s EZ Fit Liner. The EZ Fit is comfortable right out of the box, and can be thermoformed for even further customization. With a forgiving forefoot, women’s volume, and a narrow heel, the EZ Fit cradles your foot in custom comfort.

This is the Mac Daddy of freeride boots. Powerful, progressively-flexed, potent. The Delirium is expert stiff, our stiffest Men’s Freeride Boot. Drop into tough off-piste snow and find yourself in a delirium of joy. The last is perfect: plenty of room in the forefoot for serious skiers’ inevitable bunions and bone spurs, with a snug, secure heel for solid edge control. The High Overlap transmits power directly to the medial mid-foot, exactly where you need it for precise ski control. Soles are quickly changed, snapped-in and secured with three bolts per boot. The Delirium uses the EZ Fit Liner: stiff and supportive, fully lined, fits great right out of the box, or can be thermoformed for further customization.

The Azula is our all-around Freeride boot designed for women who don’t want the full-on power of the Asylum. Comfort is paramount, with its anatomical last that includes cutouts for sensitive areas of the foot. The Azula is highly versatile with interchangeable soles for compatibility with three binding norms. Its Easy³ Magnesium Ski/Walk mechanism has an ergonomic lever that is easy to open and close, and is fully adjustable for forward lean preference. Garmont’s award-winning PowerWrap free-heel boots are the best-skiing, most comfortable telemark boots available.

Their unique, alpine-style, one-piece overlap shell construction was inspired by our ground-breaking Radium. The High Overlap shell closely follows the anatomy of the foot, instep, and lower leg for crisp, precise, immediate downhill performance, while cradling the foot comfortably and securely.

Four different injections achieve the impossible: a smooth, sweet forward flex with incredible torsional control.

The anatomical “pre-punched” shell and overlap close around the foot and instep more securely and comfortably than an instep buckle, eliminating a buckle’s pressure points over the navicular bone and rigid, dead spots at the instep and ankle.

The Ergo Bellows is asymmetric to follow the foot’s anatomy. It is wider for longer, more progressive travel, and it is positioned rearward for maximum forefoot contact on the rear ski. This anatomical bellows design translates into comfort and control with the smoothest, most progressive flex.

Voodoo, Minerva, Prophet NTN and Priestess NTN now have our superb new Instant Comfort EZ Fit Rapid liners. These are the most refined thermoformable liners on the market, with a unique construction that allows them to be worn right out of the box, or thermoformed (they are 100% fully thermoformable in a convection oven) should the skier prefer more customization.

PowerWrap boots’ advanced shell design, multi-injection technology, and superior thermoformable liner make it possible: optimum fit, flex, performance, and comfort. No compromise.

Page 36: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

The PowerWrap Shell is a technically superior design:

• Garmont’s superior last is the heart of our PowerWrap boots: PowerWrap shells were developed around the foot. They have a custom-bootfitter fit right out of the box, their molds shaped to provide more room for the first metatarsal, room for the “6th toe” , room for the navicular bone, asymmetric malleoli that match the body’s natural asym-metry, and a deep, supportive heel cup with space for common heel spurs.

• The PowerWrap overlap design follows the contours of the foot and ankle more closely than traditional tongue-type designs for the best downhill performance with a smooth, progressive, responsive ankle and bellows flex.

• The High Overlap Panel provides close, gap-free contact with the lower leg and instep, better-distributing shin pressure for comfort and instant response.

• Four different injections fine-tune the lower shell for comfort and performance. The Voodoo, Minerva, Prophet, and Priestess have a high, double-injected cuff that wraps closely around the leg for quick response with support from the super-stiff rear frame.

• The Ergo Bellows design is asymmetric, like the foot. It is wider for more travel, and for a progressive forward flex. It extends rearward for the foot contact that results in better rear ski control. The Ergo Bellows has a separate, stiffer Power Rib injected at the crest of the bellows for abrasion resistance and the most consistent flex.

• Easy shell entry: The high, supportive panel of the overlap provides a “handle” that can be spread for very easy entry.

• The soft, silicone-like Water Seal gasket between the shell’s overlap seals out snow and moisture.

• Multi-injected “bumpers” protect the bellows, buckles, and lower shell.

• All models have a replaceable, high-density Nylon bellows protector for protection against sharp ski edges.

• The Prophet’s and Priestess’s NTN-compatible bi-color sole is Dual Density for the best function with the NTN binding, facilitating both easy binding entry and release function. The Voodoo’s, Minerva’s, Kenai’s, and Athena’s 75mm bi-color soles are also Dual Density for easy binding entry and the optimum flex in a traditional 75mm bind-ing.

The Liner

• New EZ Fit Rapid liners are com-fortable out of the box. These are the best liners in the world. They are 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit. See page 4 for further details.

• Pad-Lock Flash Liners, offered in the Kenai and Athena, have all of the performance and comfort ad-vantages of a traditional liner and, in addition, are one of the lightest liners on the market. Superb fit and features with light weight.

34

Page 37: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

Mechanics

• A height-adjustable spoiler in men’s models accom-modates different leg shapes for maximum rearward support and leg contact.

• The Velcro® Power Strap is wide for a secure closure and broad, powerful pressure distribution. It wraps securely around the outside of the cuff to bring it as close as possible to the lower leg.

• Wide-Open Buckles and EZ Lock catches give a solid closure and easier, unrestricted touring. The Wide-Open’s levers are designed with an off-center pivot that opens as wide as is possible while they are held securely by the EZ Lock buckle catches.

• Cuff buckle catches are moveable to custom-fit dif-ferent sizes of lower legs.

• Buckles are field-replaceable.

• Two-Step inside ankle rivet is stepped with two di-ameters to prevent pinching and binding of the cuff and excess stress on the rivet when in walk mode.

• Bomber walk mechanism is clean, simple, and sol-id.

Our beefiest 75mm Men’s Telemark model, the Voodoo’s unprecedented lateral stiffness works in harmony with a smooth, progressive forward flex. Telemark or alpine turn to your heart’s content, these boots rip. The key is in our multiple injections: four different injections that laterally reinforce the lower shell like an alpine boot, while working in unison with perfectly-placed flex zones for the proper telemark flex. The Voodoo’s performance is not at the cost of comfort. Its anatomical shell has been “pre-punched” for the common irregularities of skier’s feet, giving it a custom-bootfitter fit right out of the box. This year’s Voodoo is offered with the new EZ Fit Rapid liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

Winner of multiple awards, including twice Backcountry Magazine’s Editor’s Choice, the Minerva is Garmont’s burliest women’s free-ride tele design. There has never been a women’s 75mm boot with this level of performance and comfort. The Minerva’s unprecedented lateral stiffness works in harmony with a sweet, smooth, progressive forward flex. Telemark or alpine turn to your heart’s content, with comfort and smooth, graceful power. With its pre-punched shell, the Minerva has a comfortable fit that is close and responsive. This year the Minerva is offered with the new EZ Fit Rapid Women’s liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

Its high overlap stays in close contact with the lower leg for the quickest response and leverage with no tongue-gap and subsequent lag time.

Garmont’s are the only NTN boots with a replaceable “second heel”, the under-foot interface with the NTN binding. It boasts our Ergo Bellows design for the smoothest, most ergonomic forward flex.

Garmont NTN boots are offered with the new EZ Fit Rapid liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

The award-winning Prophet uses our unique PowerWrap overlap construction that works better than an instep buckle to close securely around the foot and allows the ankle and bellows to flex freely. Its high overlap stays in close contact with the lower leg for the quickest response and leverage with no tongue-gap and subsequent lag time. This year the Prophet is offered with the new EZ Fit Rapid liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

The Priestess is our women’s-specific high-performance telemark boot that, like the Prophet, moves into the future with the revolutionary NTN boot-binding system. It satisfies a long list of the free-heel skier’s dreams for comfort, function, and performance. The Priestess is built in our PowerWrap design that closely and comfortably follows the foot’s anatomy, with the high overlap design that stays in close contact with the lower leg for the quickest response and leverage. This year the Priestess is offered with the new EZ Fit Rapid Women’s liner that is comfortable out of the box, as well as 100% thermoformable for those who choose a more customized fit.

GARMONT ALPINE BOOTS COMBINE SUPERIOR FIT AND PERFORMANCE IN EVERY CATEGORY

The G_1 was Garmont’ s proving ground, our full-race Formula One machine where we could test and perfect our technologies in the most demanding situations. The G_1 is the state-of-the-art alpine racing boot that combines the highest skiing performance with a custom anatomical fit. Remarkable comfort has been achieved in its close race fit by carefully following the anatomy of the foot as though it’s vacuum-fit or shrink-wrapped around the foot’s natural asymmetry and irregularities. These irregularities, normally punched and stretched by an expert boot fitter, have been built into the G_1 molds.

Garmont’s innovative Freeride fit was evolved from the full-race G_1 testing ground and its innovative last. The Freeride Fit is anatomically correct, close-fitting and responsive, with all-day comfort. Out of the box they have that “custom bootfitter” fit. The G_1 130, G_2 110 and G_2 90 boast the Freeride Fit.

Garmont shells were developed around the foot, not modified to fit the foot as is the case with other alpine boots. These shells have already been to the bootfitter.

Lightning lateral response with a smooth, progressive forward flex characterizes Garmont alpine boots’ skiing characteristics. A variety of flexes are available to satisfy different skier weights and skiing styles.

Page 46: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

The G_1 130, G_1 150, G_2 110, and G_2 90 have innovative details that set them apart from other freeride, race, and performance alpine boots. They are superior in both comfort and performance, two benefits that rarely travel together.

The Shell

• Garmont’s superior last is the heart of our boots: Garmont shells were developed around the foot, not modified to fit the foot as is the case with other alpine boots. These shells have already been to the bootfitter, their unique anatomical designs shaped to provide more room for the first metatarsal, room for the “6th toe”, room for the navicular bone, asymmetric malleoli that match the body’s natural asym-metry, and a deep, supportive heel cup with space for common heel spurs.

• Garmont’s patented Shock Damper shell has flex ribs in the instep that provide a subtle lon-gitudinal flex that allow it to absorb shock and vibration, resulting in better ski flex and edge hold, with less vibration and chatter.

• Unique High Profile Shell acts as a double cuff that ties the lower shell and cuff together as one. This high-profile shape improves forward response and offers unprecedented rearward support.

4444

Page 47: Garmont winter collection 2012-2013

• High Profile Cuff Riveting maximizes the shell’s High Profile shape by securing the cuff and shell to-gether as one solid, responsive structure.

• The Contour Cuff is shaped to follow the form of the inner leg to increase contact and eliminate play between the leg and cuff. The result is the quickest response possible with the most leverage and sup-port.

• The effective rubber Snow Dam prevents snow from entering lower shell.

• Buckle Savers provide solid protection for lower shell Buckles.

• The Lower Shell has molded marks for those who wish to modify the shell for a softer forward flex.

• The Cuff has Molded indicators for those who wish to adjust the buckle catches 15mm smaller.

• Field replaceable buckles and catches, cuff rivets, and Power Straps are all attached with T-nuts.

The G_1 130 adds all-day comfort to the G_1 with the responsive Freeride Fit. To develop this super anatomical comfort fit we started with our close-fitting Race Fit, adding room while preserving its super-responsive, unique anatomical shape. Like the G_1 150, out of the box the 130 fits like it’s been punched and stretched by a custom bootfitter. Stiff bi-density underfoot wedge. The G_1 130 Liner’s outer skin is supple to conform comfortably to the foot. Unique Garmont WebFrame finish.

The G_1 150 is the top of the pyramid, ripping race boot with the shrink-wrapped shell fit. Its close shape is Anatomically Directed Design to precisely follow the foot’s natural asymmetry and irregularities. This boot’s response is instantaneous. Out of the box it fits like it’s been punched and stretched by a custom bootfitter. Stiff bi-density underfoot wedge. Cool WebFrame shell finish. 150 flex index.

Garmont’s G_2 90 is the more forgiving, softer-flexing of the G_2 series, designed for lighter-weight skiers and those who prefer an easier flex. It boasts all of the fit and performance features of the G_1 series and G_2 110. The G_2 90 is offered in High- and Mid-cuffed models in our anatomical Freeride fit. The HIGH model’s Contour Cuff was developed for men, while the MID’s Contour Cuff was specially-developed to fit women and Juniors. The G_2 90 Liner’s outer skin is supple to conform comfortably to the foot. The shell has our unique WebFrame finish. 90 flex index.

This chart is only a guideline. Foot length is only one of many factors used to determine boot size. Measure foot length with a Brannock device and shell fit. You may need to adjust up or down according to variations in foot volume, skier preference, and intended use. Garmont shells break on the half size - in other words - 27 and 27.5 are in the same size shell. 28 is the next largest shell.

Hypergrip® IceLock™

IceLock™ is a patent pending technology that dramatically increases traction on ice. Micro-glass filaments are electrostatically aligned in the rubber compound creating a non-slip surface. IceLock™ pads are embedded in Hypergrip® soles to create an ideal winter boot for extremely icy and snowy conditions on the ground. Severe tests have shown that IceLock™ can dramatically improve traction on icy surfaces, but it does not prevent slipping entirely, because it allows a “controlled slide”.

Vibram® IceTrek™ outsole on the Fiore platform

Winter specific compound on the Fiore platform, with deep lugs for aggressive traction and a true braking heel for traction and confident descents.

Gore-Tex® Insulated Comfort

A range of insulation options to keep feet dry and comfortably warm in cold to very cold temperatures. Durable waterproof protection keeps moisture out. Engineered for all-day comfort in any winter conditions.

3M™ Thinsulate™ Insulation

A premium insulation choice for footwear, Thinsulate™ insulation doesn’t bog boots down with weight and the fibers absorb less than 1 percent of their weight in water. This means it’s not only one of the lightest synthetic insulations on the market‚ but it helps keep feet warm even in damp conditions.
