Former Vice- Chancellor Prof. Kailash Sodani bowed down to Pandit Nagar, who said that he had done the work of awakening education in Mewar in the pre-independence circumstances. Chancellor Prof. Balwant Shantilal Jani said that around 1937 in western India, two universities were formed in the country. The first Sagar University of Madhya Pradesh was founded by Harisingh Gaur, while Dr. Pandit Nagar established Vidyapeeth to impart education in a tribal area in Mewar. Ganpati, the God of Wisdom, Success

and Prosperity and destroyer of all

Sins and Sufferings is now in dif-

ferent look during this Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav.

No big pandals, decorations, light, sound, big

queues and road blocks. Every enthusiast devo-

tee is celebrating this festival with the close

family members on highly personal level.

For last many years, we have been prac-

ticing show business and always try to exhib-

it our smartness, wealth and pseudo strength

to impress others. Our Festivals always looked

grand. We strived to look grander as time passed.

The feeling of superfluous competitions took

us away from the wisdom which Lord Ganesh

blessed us with.

For last few years we have been warned

by the philosophers, environmentalists, sci-

entists, ecologists and spiritual leaders to think

thoroughly about the Natures’ balance. But our

policy makers and we never paid any heed to

them. Nature too gave us many chances to

change our life style but we rather challenged

the Nature time and again. It was now turn of

Nature to change entire scenario and it did.

Since March,2020 we are confined to so many

restrictions. Celebrating Festivals on has large

scale is out of question. We have been pushed

back and function on low key. Covid-19 has

compelled us to re think and redefine many

factors leading our life.

Coming again to Ganpati Utsav, Maharashtra

originated this Festival during the pre-inde-

pendence era with the initiation of great free-

dom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak has always

been dominating this Festival. Entire state bub-

bles with many socio-cultural activities. Goa

also experiences the same scenario. All the

performing and visual artists become terribly

engaged in this festive season. Artistes with

innovative ideas earn a lot. The quality of per-

formance and events is of high standard. The

events for children would encourage them

enhance their skill and knowledge in various

aspects of Indian culture.

With the passage of time Ganesh Utsav got

tremendous popularity in entire country. But

slowly this festival started experiencing few awk-

ward activities going against nature and soci-

ety. Big idols made of plaster of Paris, use of

synthetic items, sound pollution and excessive

expenditure and competitions started making

this festival more superficial.

Again Maharashtra took lead to modify and

improvise Ganpati celebration to make it envi-

ronment friendly. Concerned and sensitive peo-

ple not only started making Idols of clay but

also avoided polluting water bodies by many

measures. The individual Ganpati idols were

exchanged with friends and neighbors. They

started making tiny Ganpati with locally avail-

able mud, using natural and organic colors and

decorations avoiding synthetic ingredients.

They even started immersing Ganpati idol in

the bucket at home. Later the muddy water

was poured in available plant pots. This year

we find a revolutionary improvement in

Maharashtra. Each Ganpati idol is stuffed with

seed of Tulsi or any fruit or medicinal plant.

The immersion would take place in an empty

pot which would cater the plant. The fruit plant

will be transferred on the land helping in mak-

ing cities and

towns green.

This br ight

and positive

idea is being

appreciated in

other states

too.

Our beloved God Ganpati is very kind, he

has come very close to us and asked us to

be simple and authentic. Sitting at home we

can witness many art forms on line and enjoy

with our family. We can even send our record-

ings to our friend circle to get their apprecia-

tion. Many sensible people have started fol-

lowing instructions of Lord Ganpati for mak-

ing better present and future. We all pray

Ganpati Bappa to bless us with wisdom and

give us courage to become honest and sen-

sible human being to serve our home, city,

people and nation in the best way and get rid

of Covid-19 along with all allied ailments.

Gaur, while Dr. Pandit Nagar established Vidyapeeth to impart

education in a tribal area in Mewar. Today we talk about self-

reliance, but before independence, Pandit Nagar taught the

lesson of self-reliance. He established a Shramjeevi college

for working people during the day. While presiding, the Kul

pramukh Bhanwar Lal Gurjar said that this day is an evalua-

tion of the work done in the past years and a sense of new

responsibility. Taking up the work of the rural community of

Mewar from a new generation, he talked about fulfilling the

dreams of Janubhai. The school is continuously active in its

role in the nation's educational, social, and cultural progress.

It is the teacher's responsibility to create a good society. It

should be the responsibility of which the students should give

their all their creation and set an example by presenting such

students in front of society.

Chief Guest Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot , the

honor hoisting tricolor, said that the national tricolor repre-

sents the hopes and aspirations of all of the symbol of our

national pride, it enlightens the love, ideals, loyalty, and nation-

ality of our countrymen. In the expenditure incurred in the

installation of the tricolor, the Vidyapeeth workers have also

given their one-day salary.prof. S.S. Sarangdevot said that

Janubhai started his institution with five courses, which is now

being increased to 85 courses, it is possible due to the dedi-

cated and loyal workers of all the schools. The responsibility

of building a good society rests on the shoulders of educa-

tion. That education should not be for itself, but for the prole-

tariat of the community, in the same way, value education

should also be needed to advance the country and society.

When Mahatma Gandhi was awakening to freedom in the

country, Janubhai was busy burning the holdings of educa-

tion in the tribal region of Mewar. The establishment of the

Vidyapeeth is the result of thinking to remove their ignorance.

THIS IS MEI am the reflection of myself,

As I am, so I am

I am in no mood to impress others

Accept or leave me the way I am.

No need to hide your own self

Under any beauty cosmetics it’s a crap

Cherish and admire yourself

As you are, you are acclaimed.

God created you in your own way,

So be original and leave the rest,

As long as you are you,

Relish uniqueness at your best
