GAMES 4 CHANGE 2013 FARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL – APRIL 19/20, 2013

Nearly 300 students, staff and Rotary Club members participated in this fun fundraising events to benefit the Farmington Food Shelf. Events were coordinated by the Farmington Youth Development Committee, a program of Farmington Community Education.

The event got started at 10 p.m. on a Friday Night.

The first stop was team check in! Note that students are taking the registrations.

FHS Youth Development Committee members organized the events with support from Marianne Feely, Farmington Community Education.

The first event was a sandwich making activity for the Farmington Food Shelf. Rotary Club Members helped get the tables ready.

Then it was time to team up and make some sandwiches.

These were boxed up by volunteers and sent to the Farmington Food Shelf.

Students counted up the non-perishable food donations. A new record was set with over 3000 items collected.

A student led “Soles4Souls” Shoe Drive also brought in thousands of shoes that will be repurposed for use.

GAME TIME! Teams got in the spirit and played Volleyball, Dodge Ball and Floor Hockey.

Super large tournament boards tracked the activities.

Teams played 12 minute games in the tournament format! There were 34 total teams of eight players. (272 students)

FHS teaching staff also got in the act with a team. The Farmington Rotary also put together a team.

Memories made and thousands of people helped during one night of fun at Farmington High School!
